Task Summary In this assessment, you will study a project case and develop a project schedule for that project. You are required to answer questions related to project risk management, communication management and the project duration reduction technique.

In response to the case study provided, write a consultative report focusing on the various processes in project knowledge areas, including the management of project schedule, cost, risk and resources. This assessment requires you to apply various tools and techniques you have learnt in management of project schedule, cost, risk and resources into a real-life case scenario.

You will be presented with a case study, for which you assume the role of the project manager. You will be asked to go through a number of processes in the project knowledge areas above and generate outputs (some subsidiary plans of a project management plan) for those processes. This assessment provides you with an opportunity to view various processes in the planning process as a whole and develop an appreciation of schedule-cost-scope-risk trade-off.

In the Word document, outline at least two strategies that can be used to reduce the duration of this project by two weeks, and the impact on project scope, cost and risk. The total word count should not exceed 400 words. However, you need to be specific about your strategy. For example, “reduce duration of activity 3.1” is not regarded as specific. Why would you choose that particular activity or activities among all the activities? How you would go about reducing the duration of that activity?

The enrolment officers and students are two important groups of stakeholders in this project. In the Word document, report the following: · What are the communication methods (pull or push) you would use to communicate to either of these two groups of stakeholders? (5marks) · At the commencement of this project, does either of these two groups of stakeholders need to be notified of the commencement of this project? If so, draft an email for the Pro Vice Chancellor of ABCU to communicate that to the stakeholder. If not, justify why that.

ABC University Background ABC University (ABCU) is a multi-campus university in Australia. The Pro Vice Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) of ABCU, Professor Ian Smith, has successfully built a business case for the implementation of a completely autonomous student online enrolment system. This proposed online enrolment system aims to improve business efficiency and to reduce and eliminate human errors made in the process of student enrolment.

The University Council has already given the green light for this project to go ahead. A project charter has been completed, and Professor Smith was assigned as the Project Manager for this project. However, Professor Smith has left this project due to personal reasons and will not be returning to work for another four weeks. In the interim, you (as a group) have been assigned to take over this project and to take up the role of project manager.
