Dietary supplement: Quercetin
Answered

Benefits of Quercetin

a. Your choice of quercetin piqued my interest since I have a bottle of it in my kitchen. I purchased it on the recommendation of a doctor, to help prevent me from catching the covid-19 flu virus - so far, so good. The particular brand I purchased is made by, Amazing Nutrition, made in the USA, and has the GMP stamp of approval (for sanitation, cleanliness, equipment verification, purity testing, record keeping, product complaints, etc.).1 My supplement known as,quercetin dihydrate, is 500 mg, to be taken once daily with a meal.

Its claim and how it impacts the body physiologically, according to the bottle,

1.) supports cardiovascular health, 2.) helps improve anti-inflammatory and immune response,

2.) supports healthy aging and overall well-being.

a. Its effectiveness based on scientific evidence, according to the Department of Internal Medicine and Therapeutics, University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy, quercetin inhibits 3CLpro and PLpro with a docking binding energy corresponding to –6.25 and –4.62 kcal/mol,
respectively.

b. Quercetin has a theoretical, but significant, capability to interfere with SARSCoV-2 replication, with the results showing this to be the fifth best compound out of 18candidates.

c. On the basis of clinical COVID-19 manifestations, the multifaceted aspect of quercetin as both anti-inflammatory and thrombin-inhibitory actions, should be taken into consideration.

d. Quercetin is a flavonoid, with its chemical name 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxychromen-4-one or 3,3’,4’,5,7-pentahydroxyflavone, classified as a flavonol, one of the six subcategories of flavonoid compounds, and is the major polyphenolic flavonoid found in various vegetables and fruits, such as berries, lovage, capers, cilantro, dill, apples, and onions.

e. Itis yellow in color and completely soluble in lipids and alcohol, insoluble in cold water, and sparingly soluble in hot water.“Quercetin” derives from the Latin word “quercetum” meaning “oak forest,” and as a flavonol, is not produced in the human body.2

f. Its potential benefits and/ or health hazards, like Sylvester wrote, “quercetin should not exceed 1,000 mg per day, and that no potential hazards were found.” I have not found any information to the contrary. Would you recommend it, yes and I am taking it myself.

Conclusion

a. There is one thing I know for sure; I will be so glad when COVID-19 is behind us. Whether or not quercetin prevents me from getting the virus, is to be determined. I don’t put my faith in a supplement or a vaccine, but in God, our Heavenly Father, through Christ Jesus my LORD and Savior only, by the power and might of the Holy Spirit. I believe with all my heart, He will protect me, and He has so far.

b. Every morning I pray, I put on the Full Armor of God, spoken of by Paul in Ephesians 6: 10-20, which was also spoken of by Isaiah the Prophet, Isaiah 59:17. I also plead the Blood of Christ Jesus over me, my husband, my son, my family, my dogs, our home and pray that God sends his Holy Warring Angels all Ranks and Divisions to surround my home, or where ever I and my family goes to protect, direct and guide.

e. I depend on the Holy Spirit to lead me, convict me, and share revelation knowledge with me when reading God’s Holy Bible. Like the Apostle Paul wrote, we are to “rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
