Creating Audio Presentation for MNE analysis and global to local spectrum

Accessing the audio/video capturing tool in NCUOne

You will create your audio presentation by using an audio/video capturing tool located in NCUOne (Kaltura Capture).

 

To access the capture tool, follow the tutorial found in your Books and Resources for this Week.

 

For the course’s Signature Assignment, you will combine the knowledge and resources from previous weeks. You will follow up on the MNE you selected in Week 6 from the industry you selected in Week 1 (that firm will now be called your “target MNE” for this assignment).

 

Create a PowerPoint presentation covering the MNE using elements from previous assignments, along with new additional elements. Assume the role of a consultant/researcher hired by a competing firm in that industry.

 

In addition to the target MNE, please select another MNE in the same industry as your client (that firm will now be referred to as your “client MNE”). For example, if you chose the auto industry in Week 1 and Ford Motors in Week 6, select a firm such as Fiat Chrysler (FCA) as your client MNE.

 

Then, prepare to deliver a strategic analysis for the Target MNE from the perspective of it as a competitor of your client firm. Be sure to include the following in your presentation?

 

Discuss the target MNE’s place in its overall industry in terms of size, nature of its product line (or lines), and foreign markets in which it does significant business in terms of production, R&D, and sales (you do not need to list every country if listing them will create a long list; just give a sense of its global market spread).

 

Illustrate how this all compares to your client MNE. Note, if it turns out the target MNE is a conglomerate that operates in multiple industries, focus most of your analysis and discussion on the Week 1 industry only?

 

Use your five-forces visual chart from Week 1 to discuss how those forces impact your specific target firm. For example, does the target MNE have greater or less bargaining power over buyers or suppliers compared to the others in the industry, including your client MNE? 

 

Explore the topic of culture and diversity in relation to your target firm from both an internal and external perspective. For example, how diverse is their Board of Directors and top management team (internal), and do the cultures or other characteristics of the countries where it produces or sells products have a potentially significant impact on its strategic decisions?

 

Consider the link between internal and external cultural environments?

 

Determine where the firms fall on the global to local spectrum discussed in your Week 3 assignment in relation to the presentation so far. ?

 

Present your chart for the target MNE that you created in Week 6 (adjusted for any feedback you received from your instructor). Briefly discuss its structure. Explain whether the firm is involved in any joint ventures or other types of strategic alliances. Examine the value the target firms receive from these alliances. ?

 

Conclude with some remarks about what your client MNE can learn from your analysis that can enhance its competitiveness. Length: 10 to 15-minute Kaltura presentation, along with a 15 to 20-slide PowerPoint presentation. Include the transcript for the Kaltura video in the notes pane of each appropriate slide.

 

References: Include a minimum of 7 scholarly resources. The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course.
