1. The late nineteenth century saw many changes in America including the explosive growth of urbanization and the rise of the labor movement. Explore and analysis these two elements which changed the fabric of American society.

o Discuss the rise of the labor movement in late 19th century America. What were the reasons for the formation of labor unions? What were the major gains and setbacks experienced by the movement? Cite examples using leaders and organizations involved in labor issues of the period.
