Business Application: Submit a 1 page initial proposal that addresses the basic idea of the program and the following questions: What is the name and purpose of your program? List the reasons you are creating this program? Include outcomes – i.e. reports Include inputs – what data needs to be stored. Include processes – what will the program need to do? What do you want the program to accomplish? Explain the goal you have for the program? Who is your target audience for the program? Describe your target audience by age, gender, socioeconomic characteristics and so on. What issues is your program addressing? What content do you need to gather?
Game: Submit a 1 page initial proposal that addresses the basic idea of the program and the following questions: What is the overarching story-line. This story line should have your basic introduction to your characters and why they are going to do what they are going to do. This should be detailed enough (you can alter it a bit during development if needed) to explain the why behind the story and the point of the character’s movements and why you are playing. What is the scenario and the planning for winning? For example, you may want a nemesis – it could be an object, the computer itself or another character. (A dual-player game is not recommended at this point.)
For example, if they are trapped in a haunted house, it may be that their goal is to escape, and they must escape in a very specific way. In this case the house is the nemesis. Note that you may have multiple win scenarios. What types of emotions does your game attempt to inspire? Who is your target audience for the game? Describe your target audience by age, gender, socioeconomic characteristics and so on. What is the genre of the game? Strategy, adventure, sports, etc. What’s the motivation to keep playing? Levels, points, competition, etc. What content do you need to gather?
