Creating a Global Market Video Presentation for Principles of Marketing Course

Instructions

Global Market Video Presentation [WLO: 4] [CLO: 5] Read Week 4 Lecture Chapter 8 of the course text, Principles of Marketing As you are likely aware, your internship brand doesn’t just do business in the United States. So in this interactive activity, we’re going to research their past global activity. But rather than writing about it, we’re going to talk about it—by creating a video presentation. To complete this assignment, you need to do the following: Create a six slide PowerPoint presentation. Video yourself and your screen to present those six slides in three to five minutes. Instructions What you need to cover: Introduce yourself. Identify your internship company and a specific country to analyze your brand’s international market. The country can be from Asia, South America, Europe, the Middle East, or anywhere else on the globe. Pitch two elements from each quadrant of actors and forces about your internship company. Refer to Table 8.1 of Chapter 8. Slide Requirements Create six slides with Microsoft Powerpoint (Links to an external site.), Google Slides, or another tool of your choice. Structure your slides as follows: Slide 1 – Include your name, internship company, country or market. Slides 2 to 5 – Include two elements of each quadrant from Table 8.1, with brief highlights of your discussion points, on each slide. Slide 6 – Include a summary of your presentation. Must be only 6 slides (See below’s tab – Formatting Requirements – for more details). Save your slides as a PDF file and then upload the PDF version of your slide in Waypoint. Video requirements: The screencast video needs to capture you, with web camera turned on, presenting your slides that covers the criteria of this assignment (see below’s tab – Presentation Best Practices – for more details). Use one of the following programs to record your screencast video presentation. Screencast-O-Matic. For information on how to use this tool, please review the Screencast-O-Matic Quickstart Guide (Links to an external site.). For information on how to use this tool, please review the Zoom Quick-Start Guide (Links to an external site.). Once you are done with recording, and the link to your video is ready, copy the link and paste it in the Comments field when uploading your slides PDF to Waypoint, so your instructor can access your video presentation (See below’s tab - Waypoint Submission - for more details). Optional: It’s a great idea to add this project to your Folio to show it off when needed (See below’s tab - Folio Submission - for more details). Submission guide: Step 1- Create a link for your video: Once you recorded your screencast video, save the video file to your local drive (it will be an MP4) on your device. Then upload it to your favorite file sharing service (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) or to the Microsoft OneDrive that you should have access to as part of your university Office 365 subscription. Once you've uploaded to any of these file sharing services, you can share it with your instructor. Use your instructor’s email address (once you were prompted to do so) and the share button to create a sharable link. Step 2- Waypoint submission: Access Waypoint using the button below to submit your PDF version of your PowerPoint deck. Also, paste the link, which you created in step, 1 in the Comments field when uploading your slides to Waypoint (See below’s tab - Waypoint Submission - for an image). Helpful Tips Identify the countries your internship company does or did business in by checking out the corporate website or the latest annual report. Then, search your brand in business periodicals such as Forbes in conjunction with country names or terms like “foreign” or “international.” See which markets have been written about and select one. Think of specific challenges the company faced entering the specific country’s market (e.g., cultural norms, language barriers, local competition, government regulations, economic conditions, etc.). Accessibility Statement: If you have a disability that impacts your ability to successfully participate in this or any other course activity, please provide your instructor with your authorized Accommodation Request form from the Office of Student Access and Wellness so that he/she can discuss and arrange an alternative plan with you.
