1) Report the name and formula of a compound or polyatomic ion that contains your element. The compound must contain at least one (1) other element and at least three (3) atoms.
 
2) Describe the types of bonding present in the compound/ion from 1.
 
3) Denote the electronic structure for each of the common ions of your element. Briefly explain why each of them is common.

1) Calculate approximate bond lengths & bond angles in compound #4 using ionic/covalent/atomic radii, VESPR, and unit cell geometry as appropriate.
 
2) Determine approximate bond lengths & bond angles using Avogadro for covalent compounds or unit cell dimensions and trigonometry for ionic compounds.
 
3) Compare and contrast the results from #1 and #2. Explain the source of any differences you find.
