Environmental Crisis and Pollution Sources: Understanding the Perspective

Educational Awareness Campaigns to Increase People's Awareness

This is a very useful post and it throws light upon the environmental crisis that is developing at a rapid pace. However, one of the important things to note here is the perspective that has been presented by Robert Hood. He thinks that the effects of climatic change are known to all by now. However, it is the duty or the responsibility of the people to understand that majority of the sources of pollution are self-inflicted and that they will be able to solve this through their measures.

I think that the pollution sources must be present to people through educational awareness campaigns. However, it is true that at some points this becomes an ethical issue but at the same time, people have to understand the different ways in which they will be able to check their activities to reduce the harmful impacts on nature. For instance one of the major reasons for Climatic change is large-scale deforestation and urbanization. Raycraft, (p-40) thinks that Urbanization is the process by which people move from villages or other remote places come to stay in urban places in search of work and a good life. However, this leads to a huge crowding in all the places in the cities and downs. To give accommodation to such a large number of people huge or large-scale deforestation has to be carried on. The rapid rate of clearing forests, cutting down of trees, and construction of the huge multi-storied buildings all create a huge pressure on the environment. As the tree or forest cover is removed this gives rise to climatic changes.

People have to realize that it is because of their activities that there is huge stress being created all over the surface and the atmosphere of Earth. This must be presented to other people through campaigns. The educational campaigns will be helping the people to know about the different ways in which they will be able to take all the necessary steps to solve the issues.

In addition, these children have to be taught about the importance of climatic conditions and the individual roles that they can play to keep the climate clean. However, they will have to be taught this right from their schooling level. This can be done by attaining extracurricular classes where all the students will be asked to know about the best habits through which they can work in a sound and effective way to reduce the amount of pollution. Children must be asked to plant trees in their schools, houses, and also in their gardens (Wargo, p-280). This will help them to understand and learn about the importance of dealing with the different issues that lead to pollution.

At the office levels, management has to conduct some extra activities where they will be able to train their employees about the habits that they can inculcate to work over the climatic condition. This will be helping in sensibly presenting the issues and all the employees will also be able to play an active role in working over climatic issues.
