Creating a Professional Portfolio: Tips and Tools

Choose the Right Tool for Your Professional Portfolio

The objective of the second Professional Portfolio Assignment is to begin your Professional Portfolio. You may want to review some of the sample portfolios to gain insight into the items you like. Please note that the portfolio tool used in the sample portfolios will be eliminated as of May 2021. Accordingly, you have other options to use for setting up your portfolio. A) Create a portfolio using PowerPoint. Save the portfolio in your one-drive account and share the file (upload the link to the file) in each assignment. As long as you are a Maryville student, you will have access to your one-drive account. Therefore, it will be easy for you to include the file link on your resume or in your cover letter when you apply for jobs. Here is a sample portfolio for Luca Pacioli using Powerpoint.

(Remember - you may not upload the portfolio but must share the link.

B) Use Google sites or Google slides to create an interactive portfolio. Again, you will submit the link to the file for each assignment and you can add it to your CV. Here is a link to Luca Pacioli's Professional Portfolio using Google Sites. (Links to an external site.)

C) You can get very creative and use Wix (Links to an external site.) to create a website with your portfolio. Just be sure you have added enough security and can easily share the portfolio.

D) If you have a university iPad, you should have been given Book Creator and you can use that.

E) You may try a site called visme - be sure to check their security. Here is a link to Luca Pacioli's Professional Portfolio using visme (Links to an external site.)

F) Come up with an alternative. If you have feedback on an alternative method, please feel free to email Dr. Tabak at [email protected] You should pick the tool that works best for you - make it challenging, but make it doable in the course. Make sure there is adequate security to maintain your privacy. You will be including your resume/CV in the portfolio! For

Assignment 2 - Once you decide the right tool to use Decide which tool you will use Create a Home Page (that can be a welcome page, a landing page, a title page) Create the following four sections/chapter/separate pages: Accounting Competencies Business Competencies Professional Competencies Resume & Contact Information Submit the address to your eportfolio in the assignment box - make sure that you have submitted the correct link. If it is password protected, be sure to include the password or your instructor cannot grade it! (Remember that you are submitting a link and NOT uploading a file).
