Advantages and Disadvantages of Embracing TikTok as a PR Platform in 2019 - A Study on a Selected Or
Answered

Background on TikTok and PR

Task:

Do you think PR practitioners should embrace TikTok to give their organization a chance to reach a broader audience? Select an organization and discuss five advantages and five disadvantages of embracing TikTok as a new PR platform in 2019. Students must use real world examples to support his/her/they perspectives.

Students are reminded that the midterm assignment is a research paper. Students may choose to download the free app (for this assignment, students are NOT required to be a member of TikTok – do NOT need to provide your identity). Through research, students would understand how PR practitioners could use TikTok in their PR works. Through research, students would also understand why a company such as GUESS used TikTok and be familiarized with the advantages and disadvantages of using TikTok.
(A) Students are expected to conduct academic research on this topic.
(B) Students are expected to write in a clear and concise manner.
(C)Please answer all parts of the questions separately.
(D) Discuss five advantages and five disadvantages of embracing TikTok as a PR platform in 2019. All ten points must be based solely on the one organization you have selected.
(E)The organization you picked can be any organization – either an active participant in TikTok or not currently partaking in TikTok. However, your opinion must be backed by research/facts. Use only real world examples to support your persepctives.
This exam answer should be at least 600 words (about 50 lines or 21/2 pages) and NOT more than 800 words (about 65 lines or 3 pages), EXCLUDING the reference page. Please adhere to the word count for each assignment. If you exceed the maximum word count, I will NOT consider anything beyond this maximum word count and points will be deducted for incomplete work. It is extremely important to write clearly and concisely.
Do note that text citation will be counted in the word/page limit. The title page and reference page will not be counted. It is alright if students exceed 800 words but the paper is within 3 pages.  It is also alright if students exceed 3 pages but the word count is within 800 words. However, if a student exceeds 800 words and exceeds 3 pages, s/he could obtain a failing grade because I will stop reading at 800 words/3 pages. This would mean this student has an incomplete paper.
The answer must be submitted in printed form using a 12-point Times Roman font, double-spaced, with 1" margins at the top, bottom, and sides of each page.  Students must submit all assignments in WORD format. Please label your file using your last name.
Writing quality will be a component of your grade for each assignment. Careful attention should be given to editing, organization, source citations, proper source citation format, proper listing of references, and the presentation of tables and graphs.
Lifting well-written descriptions from sources and presenting them as your own is known as plagiarism. Please read the university description and policy on plagiarism. Using small portions of a source and making appropriate attribution and enclosing the materials in quotes are perfectly acceptable. Use the APA format when doing so. Submitting a paper with significant percentages of the essay directly quoted, even if appropriately cited, is not what an instructor wants to see. The idea is for students to write his/her thoughts and ideas.
This exam is worth 30 percent towards your final grade. This is an individual assignment and submits your exam answer ONLY in your individual Assignment folder. Please make sure you submit your paper on time to avoid any late penalty.  Please note that 5 points will be deducted for a submission that is up to one hour late. A submission that is more than one hour late will receive one full grade reduction on the earned grade for each day the paper is late. After 7 days, the assignment will NOT be accepted. Grades are non-negotiable and will be posted in the grade book within 7 days.
