Lifelong Learning Policy: Two Tasks - Wheel of Life and Reflection
Answered

Two Tasks to be completed:  Both Tasks = 100%

  1. Wheel of Life (+10 questions): 800 words
  2. Reflection on your own learning (knowledge, skills, attitudes): 1,200 words

This template consists of two learning tasks in one document so you will be uploading one document to the submission link (containing both tasks!) I would recommend that you save this word document as follows: Lifelong Learning Assessment 1 and then your student identification number.

Read the detail about the Wheel of Life in your learning materials folder, then respond to each of the questions listed below for Task one: The Wheel of Life. As it may not be possible for people to submit the visual of the complete wheel I would simply ask you to name each of the 8 Wheel Categories you have selected and the corresponding score you have appointed to each category on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 very dissatisfied and 10 very satisfied. Feel free to write as much or as little as you choose in relation to each of the 10 questions, but ensure that the overall word count for this task meets 800 words. This is not a formal academic piece of writing, no citation is necessary, unless you choose to refer to other sources. This is a personal reflection written in an informal manner. Before completing the Wheel you may find the following video link useful in terms of taking time out to think about what is important to you.

Wheel Categories: Choose and name each category and indicate where each sits on a scale of 1-10

  1. Are there any surprises for you?
  1. How do you feel about your life as you look at your Wheel?
  1. How do you currently spend time in these areas? How would you like to spend time in these areas?
  1. In relation to the category you marked lowest - What would make that a score of 10 (i.e. what would you need to do or change to make that a score of 10)?
  1. In relation to any of your lower scored categories -What would a score of 10 look like?
  1. Which of these categories would you most like to improve?
  1. How could you make space for these changes in your life?
  1. What help and support might you need from others to make changes and be more satisfied with your life?
  1. What change should you make first? And what change do you want to make first?
  1. If there was one key action you could take that would begin to bring everything into balance, what would it be?

As part of this module on lifelong learning you are asked to reflect on your learning over the past 3.5 years of the BA programme in order to identify the knowledge, skills and attitudes/dispositions that have contributed to both your personal and professional development in the context of the community, youth and family work sectors. Before completing this piece of work it is important to review the description of Graduate Attributes provided below by University Galway (detail in orange taken directly from Graduate Attribute Statement by Academic Council 2015, in relation to knowledge, skills and attitudes/dispositions) to then consider where in your programme of study you can identify the achievement of each of these attributes.
