The Role of HR Planning in Responding to Technological Changes and Workforce Diversity in NZ Organiz
Answered

The Impact of Technology on HR Management

Assignment Details

Length: 2000 words (max, including in-text citations but not including the reference list)

Essay Question:

Changes in technology, workforce diversity and employment patterns create a number of challenges and opportunities for human resource management. Discuss the role of HR planning in responding to these opportunities and issues in New Zealand organisations.

Notes:

This assessment draws on your understanding of ideas covered in topics 1, 2, and 3 of the course. To answer this question well, you will need to have read the relevant course materials. You will also need to source additional material to develop a sound understanding of the key concepts.

What is an Essay?

An essay is a cohesive and fluid piece of writing. It should have:

  • No headings (please remove these near the end of the drafting process)
  • No bullet points, tables, lists, diagrams, images etc.
  • No use of personal pronouns (they detract from an informed and objective discussion - your 'voice' will come through in how you discuss the ideas and your overall writing style)

Source Materials:

You must support the discussion using at least SIX (6) quality references. These should include scholarly sources (including Nankervis et al text, other relevant HRM text books and journal articles), as well as other ‘grey’ literature as relevant (e.g. practitioner, industry, government and NGO publications, and legislation).

Formatting:

  • Font style and size - any standard font is fine (e.g. Arial, Times New Roman)
  • Line spacing - 1.2 (something slightly more spaced than single, but not 1.5)
  • Margins - standard margins are fine (e.g. 2.5cm left and right, top and bottom)
  • Text justification - either left aligned or fully justified is fine
  • UK or US spelling is fine. Just make sure you are consistent.
  • Avoid abbreviations unless they are commonly used in the literature.
