The Parking Department of Cleveland State University has contacted you to develop an electronic parking monitoring system. Currently, the system is pen and paper based. Â When a motorist arrives at a parking garage, the attendant (yes, each garage is manned by an attendant) takes the driverâs money and gives him/her a parking receipt. The exit from the garage does not need any verification; the lift gate goes up automatically when a vehicle approaches the gate. Â The attendant turns in the cash collected at the parking office at the end of his/her shift.
The desired new system should have the following functions:
1.All regular users need to preregister his/her vehicle. Â A user can register at most two vehicles. Â Users are issued parking scan cards.
2.When a user arrives at a parking garage gate, he/she presents the parking scan card. System verifies that no car associated with the user is in any of the garages (there are many garages). If yes, entry is denied. Â If no, user is allowed to enter.
3.The user needs to present scan card to leave the parking garage. The system verifies that the user has an open parking record for that garage. If so, the user is allowed to exit. Â If not, exit is denied and the user is asked to talk to a parking person.
4.All parking activities are recorded.
5.The system should be able to generate.
