Collaborate with your site teacher to identify an EL, student with disability, or struggling reader which you can work with to provide additional support.

Identify a piece of text in an upcoming lesson.

Research reading strategies and choose three total: one that incorporates pre-reading strategies, one that uses guided reading strategies (during reading), and one that includes post-reading strategies.   

Write a 275- to 350-word analysis of each strategy that you used while working with the student and include:  

•          An explanation of the level of critical thinking involved in your chosen activity 

•          An explanation of how it supported the student in comprehension of your chosen activity 

•          Analyze each strategy and decide if you feel it was the best one or if you would replace it with a different one.

Reference at least one outside resource and one from the readings to support your paper. 

Format your assignment consistent with APA guidelines. 

The paper develops a central theme or idea directed toward the appropriate audience.

The paper links theory to relevant examples of current experience and industry practice and uses the vocabulary of the theory correctly.

Major points are stated clearly; are supported by specific details, examples, or analysis; and are organized logically.

The introduction provides sufficient background on the topic and previews major points.

The conclusion is logical, flows from the body of the paper, and reviews the major points.
