The signature Assignment Project is an integrative project focusing on the application of the concepts and ideas from the course. You are required to engage in an integrative analysis of various components of developing a competency-based workplace culture by which you demonstrate your overall knowledge of course content and your ability to apply the course materials in the assessment of a company’s efficiency and effectiveness.

In your case assignment, you were provided with a scenario that required you to imagine that you had been hired by a flagging organization as a Human Resources Director / HR Business Partner to assess areas of deficiencies in  organizational efficiency and effectiveness. The CEO believed that issues with organizational competency exist throughout the company. Your job was to identify how you would identify organizational competencies, determine whether the CEO’s concerns were justified, and formulate an initial action plan to develop a competency-based culture. 

For the signature assignment, you will write an 8-10 page paper that builds on the aforementioned assignment/issues and complete the competency framework plan for a competency culture in your organization by addressing the following:

1. In your plan to develop a competency culture through education, training and professional development activities. Discuss funding issues, internal vs. external training such as coaches, consultants, etc.
 
2. Describe any barriers that may hinder you to accomplish what you address in number 1 above.

3. Address total quality management in the organization. Will you take the traditional TQM approach, the TQHRM approach or a combination of the two? Be specific and explain the expected outcomes of the approach you choose.

4. Describe how you plan to evaluate your competency plan including remediation plans in case you do not achieve your desired outcomes within the organization.

5. In your conclusion, describe why you are in the best position to address these unique needs as opposed to someone else.

6. After your conclusion, write 3-4 sentences about what you learned the most by doing this signature assignment. In other words, what is your “take away” from this  assignment?

Writing Guidelines:

a. This 8 - 10 page paper must be written in APA 6th Edition format.

b. Please include a cover page and reference page(s) that are in addition to the required page count that will include the body of your paper. 

c. Divide your body of your paper into a title heading that includes your introduction, appropriate section headings, and a Conclusion. 

d. Paraphrase your sources as often as possible. Please do not cut and paste sections of research into your paper. The nature of this assignment is for you to use your  critical thinking and analytical skills to determine issues and devise measurable strategies to rectify them in the signature assignment.

e. Use the information you found in the literature to support your discussion.

f. Use a minimum of eight (8) references are required from the readings utilized throughout the course and/or additional external sources, but at least four (4) readings  must be from the Touro Library.
