Formal short survey on gauging the level of satisfaction with the program for prison wardens to gaining skills and knowledge in General Education Development (GED)

All of the population of Massachusetts are the subjects of this research, but to complete the research within the stipulated time, the researcher has narrowed down the search to prison wardens of Massachusetts. The samples would be selected through probability, where certain tests and experiments would be conducted for mapping the satisfaction on the programs introduced for gaining skills and knowledge in GED. Based on the results, the samples, that is, prison wardens and prisoners would be generated, according to the sampling technique of probability (Perrett, Gray, and Brook 2019).

The chosen survey format would be a questionnaire, where the aspects of socio-demographic characteristics, time, finance, research assistance would be considered. While framing the survey questions, the researcher would also ensure that there are no personal questions, which could affect the individual sentiments of the samples. Availability of the samples would also be considered while preparing the survey questions. The approach of the researcher, while preparing the questions would be liberal, where the samples could produce responses to a few questions, skip some questions, or withdraw from the data collection process if they feel uncomfortable (Morrison and Maycock 2021). All of these considerations would be under research ethics, which the researcher needs to follow.

The main topic to be addressed through the researcher is programming in the prison units for increasing the GED of the prison wardens and prisoners. Within this, the aspects which would be discussed are the approach of the prison wardens towards the programs; several prison wardens and prisoners attending the programs; are there any prison wardens or prisoners, who are dissatisfied with the introduction of the program; what is the satisfaction level of the prison wardens and prisoners towards these programs; how far the programs seem engaging to the prison wardens and prisoners, what are the plans to move ahead and progress with these programs (Duwe 2018).

The responses reveal that most of the samples are males, females belong to the age group of 30-40 years. Some who preferred not to disclose their gender falls under confidentiality, that is, the research ethics. One of the positive aspects is that majority of the samples have heard about the program, reflecting their awareness and inquisitiveness to increase General Education Development (Ryan et al. 2021). Most of the samples replied that they have attended the programs, which indicates bulk attendance, considering which would be effective in terms of increasing these types of programs to enhance the general knowledge development of prison wardens and prisoners. A point to be noted is that the attendees or the samples somewhat liked the program, which means that they are not engaging enough. Therefore, attempts are to be made for including more practical knowledge, so that it generates interest among the prisoners and prison wardens. The officers in charge, that is, the Government Officers, are to evaluate the program and the behavioral changes in prisoners and prison warden, as a result of this program (Wooldredge, Smith, and Smith 2018). This evaluation would be effective for gauging their satisfaction levels on the programs and initiatives undertaken for increasing and enhancing General Education Development. Consistency in evaluation would be effective for ensuring the personal and professional development of the prison wardens and prisoners in terms of their improved general knowledge and education.
