The companies’ nowdays, are facing phenomenon of private politics. Private politics can be defined as power or group formed by people having working together for taking action that will result in stopping companies or changing their practices. It results in changing behavior of people. It threatens market position of companies and destroy reputation of such brand. The groups making such private politics think that it will make pressure on companies which will result in stopping actions of companies.  The project describes and analyzes companies facing such problems of confrontational politics. In this project, I have taken example of two mining companies facing confrontational campaign. These two companies are from gold mining areas. The first company name is GoldCrop company. The other one is Barrick Gold Company. These two companies are Canada’s top companies. These have great position in world level companies in gold mining area. The project describes and analyze facts of confrontational private policies faced by companies in their growth process.

Canadian mining industry may be described as one of top manufacturing industries of world. Gold mining industry of Canada faced protest that is of world level. The protest was covered from many of industries from overall countries. More than 10 countries were included in protest. The campaign was started from street of Bucaramanga. The campaign was on the issue of infringing on water supply. People want clean water supply from industry. People protest for defending water supply from Canadian owned project of gold mining. This issue has make impact on the position of companies that are taken for example for this project. We have mentioned other confrontational private policies in this project except this one issue. This issue makes impact on all the companies of gold mining industry.

Goldcorp company is engaged in gold production and provide its services to many countries. It is situated in Vancouver , that is a part of Canada. The company employs almost 15800 employees of country. It also engage in other processes like extraction, exploration and reclamation. It has operating assets of four mines (Walker, 2016). The company has two mine mines in Mexico and other in Central and South America. The company reported US $ 135 million net earnings. Rob McEwen posted challenge that is shared with public which shows offer of more than $ 575000 in prizes.  The company also invested in other assets with sale of its new project.

Modus Operandi

Barrick Gold is another gold mining company which has headquarters in more than one company. Mining Operations of the company are manufacturing in Toronto, Australia, Canada and other countries. It takes more of the production from American Region. The company was first deal with oil and gas company. After facing loss in same, it refocused into gold company. the operations becomes public after starting its production. It becomes world’s third largest mining company. It acquires other gold mining companies for its growth. It make acquisition of different companies after receiving profits in production. Barrick Gold Company was first attached with other company (Bieshuevel, 2015). In 2010, it decided to make a new company that will be separate from all companies. After making that separate company, it makes new acquisitions and mergers. It has many subsidiaries in company. This company negotiated with public in many areas. It helps in providing financial resources for education and wellness initiative. The company faced issue in doing so after it was obliged for the same fact (McMurdo, 2014).

Gold Corp Company continues to process of going through production process. Gold has connoted from beauty or value. Gold melts at total temperature of 1064 C. It includes Crystal process and Sodium Cyanide. It includes complex ions that are very stable. It works to collaborative and jewellery items.

The first point of construction of gold is construction of grinding and Carbon in leach. Next process is to complete floatation and autoclave process. After approving this, next process take place and makes production.

Gold Corp Company is a world class company that is based on 100% Plutonic Gold Operation. It produced more than 80000 ounces of gold in year 2017. It is expecting to improving 100000 ounces. It has many joint venture mines.

Barrick Gold produced more than 5.32 million ounce of gold. It maintains 413 Million copper more than 413 million. The operations of company are gone through two different parts. In the first part, pipeline complex is opened through open pit and in second part, minded product is copper Hill. In Barrick Gold Company, more than 75% production comes from America.

Goldcorp Company faced many issues during its production process. The activists and other people make it impossible for company to be regular in the production. The company was under allegation of accused of harming environment. The activists and other social groups make allegation that company is working in a way which affects environment. The allegation includes point that the company has harmed public and livestock. The health of public becomes an allegation factor for company. Magazines and newspapers starts covering the issues. It becomes a regular issue for company to be in magazine for the allegation. The people starts protest for the same and many cases were filed against company. it becomes a social pressure for company to stop its production and take a leave from gold mining industries. The situation becomes hard to face by Goldcorp.

Contributing Factors

Barrick Gold was also under obligation by activists. The obligations against company were that the mines of the company are affecting rivers of country. The Confrontational private politics had been occurred in country. The company was obligated that it is affecting rivers of San Juan Province. Social media and other media channels starts making pressure on company to stop its work (Greenwood, 2010). Many articles define the obligations of company in everyday articles. Company managers and directors were under problem of continuing business. Legal Controversies were started against company. Almost Nine Barrick employees were arrested for making justice to people protesting for issues. These issues affect profits of companies and make their market position down. These two companies faced losses in the year of allegations by society. Human Rights also published that it was not doing well for the society. The private policy was undergone related to this issue (Choy, 2014). The company decided to make an investigation. After such investigation, the company removed many of its workers from job who was found guilty of some concerns. It was a great step of company to take an initiative in removing employees that were making harmful position of company.

Goldcorp company, that was obligated for harming public, environment and livestock, started to take actions against those obligations. It decided to make legal case against activists and private policies that are being covered against it. The issues of company were filed in court. The company continues its business during the session. The profits were not that much as it earns brfore, but it does not take stop from business. The competitors and activist started making other protests by public for referring issue that company is doing its work even after protest has been filed. They want company to no to operate during the issue undergoing. Investigation has been started against company. People behind this issue were the competitors of the company. They want the company stop from working which will help them to make profits. The company was achieving great profits and was one of most important companies of country. Haters of company select this approach to stop it. But the company takes action against these obligations. It started investing its production (Kurl, 2008). The company selected modern practice methods for production. It starts working that will improve its approach to environmental stewardship. It becomes a member of international council on Mining and Metals in2009. This helps to face issues of confrontational private politics of company. It reported its annual environmental report on journals and magazines which were used for making allegations against company. These journals were chosed for making people aware about these facts. The company recorded the facts of environmental and other issues in the journals. Many issues were filed by against Company’s methods to extract gold. It makes more issues to company. People from valley also presents issue of their health problems. They filed case regarding health issues of their problem. The government committees decided to take three samples for the same company. They visits company three times and took three samples of water of company. All plans of the company reviewed by investigation officers. They reviewed closure plan of mine.

Issue of Companies and Social Pressure

Barrick Gold faced issue of contaminated water. The company also continued their production. Some articles and journals show that it must close the company. They forced company to close it due to water contamination. Legal cases were filed against company. Competitors and activists tried to make it difficult for company to continue production. The production was undergone during the recession period. But position of company was seemed down by these legal issues. People of country stopped taking products from the same (Alexander, 2016). It stops growth of company. It was unable to make finance for further production. But the company decided to continue production anyhow.

Goldcorp Company faced legal cases for issues of public health and environment harming. The confrontational private politics has been held against the issue. The politics and activists take action that will results in stopping the company. But it makes many of evidences in front of court or law. These evidences results that company is not under any fault. The environmental record of company shows that it is not under any obligation of fault (D, 2016). The obligations are not actual against company. The court reviewed the land used for production. Out of all that land, 1500 Hectare land has been reclaimed as agricultural land. The land was recovered as farmland. It decide to release that land for denying any issue to be occurred in further growth of company. The company provide further skill trainings and employment in that new areas.

Barrick Gold Company decided to make it possible for company to grow, The Company decided to accept the obligation It declares that it is under fault of obligation. It decided to pay $ 145 Million. The fine was paid by company. They declares that the obligation has been corrected. After this issue, the company faced another issue of fine. It decide to make a case against Canadian Publisher Talonbooks. Lawyers of company thought that he is going to publish a book against company. The Book Named as Imperial Canada Inc.: Legal Haven of Choice for the World's Mining Industries written by Alain Deneault. But in actual, the book was not published yet. Lawyers filed case against company (Doug, 2009). But writer of company makes a question that how can lawyers be so sure that it is against their company. The company has no idea about contents and statements written in the book. After this, writer of the book decided that he will publish the book. He decide to make a statement before publishing. The court decided that Barrick Gold Company become liable for paying $ 143000 to Author and publisher of book. The case was filed as Seemingly Abusive. The case was undergone for three and half year. The battle was undergone that much time.

Conclusion and Personal statement

Goldcorp company was resulted in not including any of the issue of obligation recorded against it. It was concluded that company must take care of things that can be public issues. It was good for the company to publish the environmental factors of it. The company achieve its position again after the case was filed. We can say that the company has great implication in case of Goldcorp company.

Barrick Gold Company is under fault of suing the writer. The lawyers of company must it taken such step. It creates a problem of paying $ 143 million. This cause problem to company in paying the fine. The lawyers must take effective steps and help company in its growth. The company has now achieved required growth after that issue. It has also declares effective profits.

We can suggest that gold mining companies must take care of the problem of contamination in water. It must test after some periodic time period and filed a report with authorized person for the same (Todd, 2017). It will help companies in future problems or any cases to be occurred in such cases. The companies must take care the fact of public health, environmental concern and livestock issues. These factors can create problem in growth. Confrontational policies and private policies affect the company for this issue.
