Why College Education is Important After High School

This is why college education is very important after high school and must not be taken for granted. When faced with the option of choosing between a highly qualified candidate and a not so educated candidate, the employers will most probably go in for the qualified person (Mohan 2012, p.2).

Once you have completed the high school education, it is time to go for a college education. Moreover, a college education should never be taken lightly.  After all, the higher education and academic qualification ensure opens the doors for better employment and more job opportunities. The first aspect leading organizations look for in a candidate is his education and academic qualification.

Original example 2: On the Job Efficiency

The reason being that, a qualified candidate will not require much investment of the employer's time and money. The organization need not teach him or her the tricks of the trade, or the various ways of functioning and performing the tasks of the workplace. On the contrary, a novice amateur applicant would need to be taught everything from scratch, which many employers are usually not willing to do (Mohan 2012, p 2).

Why companies prefer highly qualified candidates is because they know the candidate is well trained and can handle the functioning and performing of the tasks with more maturity. In comparison, the novice applicant would mean more time and effort on his training. And most employers are not very keen to do so.

The same applies for people who seek higher education and get advanced diplomas while working. These people are continuously improving their profile and their knowledge base so as to go higher up on the competitive ladder (Mohan 2012, p.2).

Thus, people aim for higher education to raise their market value and keep adding to their education even while working. The added education not only adds to their skills but improves their profile and make them more competitive in the job market.

Education and studying regularly, gives people of all age groups something substantial and challenging to do. It helps them think and use their idle hours, doing something productive and worthwhile. Education need not be purely academic and may include reading for leisure or as a passion for literature, philosophy, art, politics, economics, or even scientific research
(Mohan 2012, p.3).

Why Employers Prefer Highly Qualified Candidates

It can be challenging for people of all age groups to study and get educated, especially if they need to study on a regular basis. Studying daily and regularly means that one is using their time in a constructive and productive manner. Moreover, education need not be purely academic or just learning lessons in school or college. Someone can have a passion for literature or may like to read politics or have a great interest in philosophy or may love to do scientific research.

Original example 5:  Keep the Devil busy and away with education

There is no limit, to all that you can teach yourself, only if you take the interest to learn and grow as an individual. However, those who treat knowledge as trash, eventually find themselves getting absorbed with thoughts of violence, and jealously against those who are better off than themselves (Mohan 2012, p.3).

There is no limit to what one can learn or teach themselves. Education helps one to learn and develop as an individual. Those who do not like to study or keep away from education, often find themselves with loads of time and their minds are filled with negative thoughts.

 It is people such as these who turn towards drug addiction, unnecessary rebellion, crime, and plain inactivity. Such people lack the self-esteem that a good education often provides to its followers (Mohan 2012, p.3).

 They often get absorbed with negative thoughts and feelings of violence. As a result, they are not only left uneducated but often carry low self-esteem because of their illiteracy. It is only a good education that can keep the mind busy and productive.
