1) One point of concern for you is that there is a trade-off between the higher interest rates in Thailand and the delayed conversion of baht into Australian dollars. Explain what this means.
2) If the net baht received from the Thailand operation are invested in Thailand, how will Australian operations be affected? (Assume that Aussie Blades is currently paying 10 per cent on Australian dollars borrowed and needs more financing for the company.)
3) Construct a spreadsheet to compare the cash flows resulting from two plans. Under the first plan, net baht-denominated cash flows (received today) will be invested in Thailand at 15 per cent for a one-year period, after which the baht will be converted to Australian dollars. The expected spot rate for the baht in one year is about A$0.0361 (Ben Holt’s plan). Under the second plan, net baht-denominated cash flows are converted to Australian dollars immediately and invested in Australia for one year at 8 per cent. For this question, assume that all bahtdenominated cash flows are due today. Does Holt’s plan seem superior in terms of Australian dollar cash flows available after one year? Compare the choice of investing the funds versus using the funds to provide needed financing to the company.
4) The difference between the Thai baht interest rate (15 per cent) and the Australian dollar interest rate (8 per cent) is 7 per cent. If you anticipate that the Thai baht will depreciate by at least 7 per cent in one year, which plan in question (3) (the first or second plan) is it better to exercise? Explain your recommendation.
My son is 19 years old and he is suffering from Autism. I am exploring the various opportunities that would allow my son to live a better life. This course is all about the future work environment and it helps us to be ready to face the future without much difficulty. As a fresher, it is very difficult to find an opportunity and then prove the capability. This course will make me feel confident and this confidence would improve further as the course progresses. Online environment is a huge big world which was introduced to me by this course. This allows me to access all the possible that mankind can think of.
This course has allowed me to grow as an individual. The complete content of the course is designed to ensure that the students are ready to take up the challenges that they would face in the corporate world. Few of the skills that would help me to be better in the competitive corporate world are disused below.
In today’s world, it is merely impossible for anyone to survive without appropriate communication skills. This course has allowed me to express and share my thoughts on various topics (Gong 2014). Due to this, my communication has improved. In the past, I use to think if I should share my thoughts with the person on the other end or not, but today, I find myself more expressive rather than that of just struggling with thoughts which can be spoken out quickly and easily (Javalgi 2013).
I feel more confident about my personality and hence, I speak about many things with confidence. In the past, I was confident of many things but I never gathered the guts to talk about it when group of people use to be present. Due to the usage of internet for learning, I collect information online and present it to people as and when required. I was very conscious about what people may think if I share any wrong knowledge or news with them, but now I feel, even if I am wrong, I would get to learn something new from the other person (Huggins 2015). Confidence reflects in my body language. I understand the unsaid dress code that I need to adhere at different places and this makes me feel good and confident. I have also developed an understanding of colours, styles and trends that would suit me rather than wearing something that is just the current trend (Hiziroglu 2013).
Confidence Building
Knowledge of the online environment has improved extensively and hence, I feel very independent. Now I have a belief that everything that one requires can be found online and this makes me feel very comfortable and confident. In the past, I always wanted to read books, but I use to find myself completely occupied with the regular tasks but that has changed now (Jang 2015). I search for online books as per my interest, download and save it for future reference. I go through the saved book as and when I find free time.
My understanding about technology has also improved and this will help me to find a better job opportunity. It is merely impossible for any employee to survive in any organization without proper understanding of online world, computer and upcoming technologies. I find myself capable to understand the importance of keywords while searching for important content in any online database. Similarly, I have become more user-friendly with computers and I have learnt to use and save information on the network (Herciu 2013). This is very important as while working with an organization, all the data needs to be stored in the network so that the co-workers can access it as and when required. Before taking up this course, I strongly believed that every research can be considered to be complete only when you visit a library (Ketelhohn 2015). This thought process of mine has changed. Now, I strongly believe that every research can be completed in the online environment as an individual can access all possible articles, books and journals. There is always a space constraint in the physical library and hence, one cannot find all the books, journals and articles over there. Searching in library is also a huge task, but that isn’t the situation anymore (Overbaugh 2013).
Confidence building is one of the major unit goals and this goal will allow me to have a great career in the near future. While going for an interview, it is very important to be confident about whatever is spoken. If a candidate comes for the interview, shares the right answer but not confident then his chances of getting selected is very low. This confidence is bought in me by this course (Hemphill 2013). Online environment opens up a complete new opportunity to learn and grow. It would have really impossible for understand the scope of online world without being a part of this course. Plenty of information is available on any topic over the online environment and this information can be used to the fullest if the information is searched and documented systematically. I have learnt the art of searching, documenting and sharing the information systematically with the help of this unit (Hunseok 2013).
Problem Solving Capacity
Problems are a part of one’s life and it just cannot be avoided. This unit has also developed my problem solving capacity. It helps us understand that repetitive is the only way by which an individual can succeed. Probably I may have to give multiple interviews before I get the job that I desire and with the help of this unit, I would feel confident in appearing for multiple interviews so that I can crack the one which best meets my requirement (Mallya 2014). Similarly, while working I may not succeed in any work at once. Due to my failure in the task assigned, people may scold me or doubt my capabilities, but that shouldn’t stop me from reaching my goal. I should keep trying till I achieve the target or task that has been assigned to me. This course also taught me that I can find solution to my common problems over the online world and hence, extensive research will help me to be better than what I was yesterday (Elena 2013).
This course has given an opportunity for me to expose myself to the online world of learning and opportunities. At the same time, this course has allowed me to grow as an individual and also as a professional (King 2015). My capability to work as a team has improved after admitting myself for this course. This will add value to my professional growth as well. Before entering this course, I use to always think about my strengths and my weaknesses but that is not the case anymore. Today, I have learnt the art of merging my strength with someone else’s strength to overcome my weaknesses. I have started experiencing this in my day-to-day life as well and this makes me feel good about the things that I can achieve as a team (Ferrais 2014).
Working under pressure is one quality that I have gained through this course and I am sure, this will allow me to grow as a better professional. Today’s corporate world demands huge energy and long work hours. This can be handled by people who are good with handling pressure and this course is offering me that talent (Laud 2015). During the initial days, assignment with short deadline use to make me nervous, but with days, I realized that this is part of the course and also life. I put in extra efforts to complete assignments with short deadline with full commitment. Studying for exams also makes me tougher than that of the students who are pursuing other courses. These things make me a better professional to handle pressure. During the initial days of my career, I need to take extra efforts to prove my capability. If I try to be in my comfort zone then my career would be at risk. The push required for professional growth is offered to me by this course (Fowler 2015).
Working Under Pressure
Conclusion
During the initial days, I use to feel that this course requires lot of time and effort and at one point of time, I wanted to quit. I motivated myself to continue the course and give my best and today, I am happy about the things that I learn from this course. The lecturer always connects the learning in the classroom with the applicability at work place and this makes me feel proud about the fact that I am trained to be a professional. This also makes me feel confident that the work environment and colleagues’ expectations may not seem different to me at any point of time. From day one, I can understand the expectations of the organization and accordingly, I groom and modify myself to be productive. The performance pressure in the course will be transferred as work pressure, but that would allow me to gain a sense of confidence and also sense of pride to achieve more.
