Understanding the Importance of Subjective Well-being

Discuss About The Leisure Engagementand  Subjective Well Being.

The aim of this essay is to know the importance of subjective wellbeing and social wellbeing. They plan a significant role in the entire journey of life. Subjective wellbeing is burgeoning with time and is related to social wellbeing. In this essay he relation between social and subjective wellbeing is discussed along with the relation of wellbeing in the entire lifespan. This is useful for recovering from illness and associate with positive behaviour by influencing the wellbeing. Focusing on wellbeing also reduces the healthcare concerns. Subjective wellbeing is slightly different from wellbeing as it directly asks people regarding their life satisfaction and their positive emotions so that evaluation could be done accordingly. This could be achieved by policy interventions that help in improving wellbeing of a person including health, learning, work, environment, social inclusion, activity and relationships.

Subjective well-being is used to track the users experience throughout the entire journey of life. Subjective well-being includes various questions that help in knowing the range of stress, depression or sadness in one’s life (Chopik, et. al, 2017). It basically involves measuring the impact of these aspects in one’s life so that steps could be taken to improve theses circumstances. There is a difference between wellbeing of a person and subjective wellbeing. As we being include the conditions of a person’s life and subjective wellbeing means the measure of impact it is causing in one’s life.

It is important to keep track of subjective wellbeing in one’s life as in includes emotional response of a person on behalf of satisfaction. It is a combination of two components that is experience in one’s life and evaluation of wellbeing (Skevington and Böhnke, 2018). The experience covers the part which has taken place and the second component refers to the evaluation of issues to live a better life.

There are various components that need to be measured separately like evaluation, affect and eudemonia. This refers to evaluating the person’s life journey in every domain.  Then checking the effects of the attributes like happiness, sadness, anger, fear in one’s life in both positive and negative aspects (Siedlecki, et. al, 2014). After knowing all the effects a well-defined plan is organised to improve the feeling and achieve personal growth.

Social wellbeing is one of the important factors that improve the mental health of a person. It improves the quality of life by making social connections. A person is involved in different cultures so that it has positive impact on the life. Organising events, programs in the society helps in bringing happiness in one’s life. Social wellbeing is achieved by the society an individual is living (Positivepsychologyprogram, 2018). Social wellbeing covers physical development along with intellectual development. It is useful in indulging a person in positive habits by coping good skills.

Measuring Social Well-Being

Social and subjective well- being is correlated in the entire lifespan.  They link the structure of life and its meaning (Kuykendall, Tay and Ng, 2015). Wellbeing can be calculated at various stages from young adulthood to older adulthood. Thus the meaning of life is analysed at every stage of life.

The life span of an individual includes various trajectories along the entire path. According to research it was analysed that health of an individual is affected by the family and friends as well as surrounding. Health is an important part of a well-being but this factor is less seen in the age group below 24 but above the age of 24 there are health issues that start affecting one’s life (Kringelbach and Berridge, 2017). Other than health issues, freedom, employment, financial conditions as well as social connections affect the wellbeing of a person.  At a particular age one’s a person get married the priorities change which may affect the lifestyle of a person. Other than that employment is one of the reason that affects the subjective wellbeing of a person through the parallel decrease in income and the loss of work-related affections. On the other hand, retirement may also be related with increased well-being as individual as one move out of the stressful job.

Thus it can be stated that wellbeing of an individual affects the family domain also in some or the other way. If ain general a person is unemployed in some phase of life the overall health and work domain is affected by it. These changes affect the average pattern of living. Every person can have different tragedies in life that affect the personal wellbeing (Knight and Gunatilaka, 2018). Hence, changes in the course of lifespan indicate that some people report after certain life events and some react at the same time.

Various approaches are used to measure the wellbeing of a person in the entire lifespan. Experience Sampling Method (ESM) and the Day Reconstruction Method (DRM) are used. These methods are different as they are not limited to making reports but rely on high ecological activities in the environment. A second advantage is that having complete knowledge about the self-evaluation to avoid distortion.

There are various factors that affect the wellbeing of an individual. Subjective wellbeing finds the positive, negative as well as the overall effect on the life. Personality of a person somewhere reflects the well-being of a person, like the way one thinks it affects the quality of life (Department of health, 2018).  Other than that relationship that enchases trust and affiliation plays an important role in subjective well-being. According to the research wealth affects various aspects of an individual by contributing to better health and lower mortality rate. It also helps in reducing the stressful events of life.

The Correlation between Social and Subjective Well-being

It is important to measure the wellbeing of an individual as it provides the reliable information regarding the impact of society on an individual. Subjective wellbeing analyses the behaviour at individual level as well as the society level. SWB has been very systematic and an important area of research and it is implicated in every field.

Subjective and social wellbeing is an important measure in all life circumstances. Firstly, it depends on how a person fells regarding his/her life; their emotional state determines their quality of life. The subjective feeling of a person is analysed to that outcome could be customised. Secondly, it traps the indicators that show some fail cases of life. In the past years it was researched that for llife satisfaction people make choices about moving to different countries. Lastly, from various evidences it was found that poor subjective wellbeing can lead to various issues and influence negative connections (Wikiprogress, 2018). Measuring the subjective well-being includes social, economic and environmental measures. Knowing about these measures can help in understanding that people's life are improving or not. This can provide useful insights for making policies designing charities plans for institutions and employees.

Subjective well-being is multifaceted as it includes both how happy an individual is and what are points that they keep the life of an individual busy. In this essay the satisfaction level is measured. It captures the momentary stress level of a person by development of new techniques (Sun, et. al, 2016). This helps in reconstructing the plan for an individual again. According to the analyses it can be stated that wellbeing of a person varies from person to person and forty per cent of the happiness is controlled by the thoughts, actions and behaviour of an individual. Fifty per cent is dependent on genetically determined and ten per cent is depend on the circumstances of the situation. The wellbeing of an individual can be built by oneself by refusing the negative stuff from life. The positive wellbeing makes a person healthier and they live longer. Thus to improve the personal well-being one should maintain connections with others. The feeling of connection with the purpose and mission of life is the key of our wellbeing (Heintzelman and Tay,2017). People of all age group are happier when they get a meaning in their lives. They can get meaning in their life by fulfilling the carer and keeping people built in social networks.

Thus it can be concluded that wellbeing of an individual depends on several factors and the magnitude of person’s satisfaction is directly related to person’s wellbeing. The economic growth of the country contributes in the satisfaction of wellbeing. Social wellbeing contributes for betterment of life experiences and practices certain actions to improve the quality of life. Thus it can be concluded analysing the life satisfaction from the past and present experience involves in lowering the negative sides of life and brining high level of satisfaction.  Subjective wellbeing is a wide range of discrimination that deals with getting high standard of living.
