This motive of this essay is to understand the concept of subjective wellbeing and social wellbeing. These two concepts play an important role in the entire trip of an individual. Subjective wellbeing is related to social wellbeing and it is burgeoning with time. The relation between these two terms has been discussed in this essay along with how wellbeing is related to human’s lifespan. This is beneficial for individual to recover from the illness and adapt the positive behaviour and develop a good wellbeing. Wellbeing and subjective wellbeing are different from each other as wellbeing directly deals directly with checking if a person is satisfied by their life. The emotions are used analyse the satisfaction of their life. Subjective wellbeing deals with directly asking an individual about their job satisfaction (Skevington and Böhnke, 2018). Thus various policies are implemented to deal with the heathcare, social inclusion, learning as well as social inclusion of an individual. The well-being of an individual is dependent on four factors that know the actual meaning of their life, relatedness, happiness and overall satisfaction.

Subjective well-being is helpful as keeps the track the entire journey of a person’s life.  Subjective well- being helps in knowing the happiness of a person by checking its stress and depression level (Pavot, Diener, Oishi and Tay, 2018). They measure the impact of such behaviour in their life so that steps could be designed to overcome from these circumstances. Thus from the research it can clearly stayed that there is a change between wellbeing of an individual and their subjective wellbeing (Heintzelman and Tay, 2017). Wellbeing just analyse the condition of a person’s life on the other hand subjective wellbeing measures the impact that is caused in a person’s life.

The emotional response of an individual is dependent in the satisfaction of life thus it is important to keep track of subjective wellbeing of an individual. Subjective well-being covers two factors that is experience gained in the life and the evaluation of wellbeing. The knowledge gained through the experience helps in evaluating the impact on wellbeing of a person. Various components are related to this and it is measured like evaluation and the effect of eudemonia. The journey of life is evaluated by checking the effects of sadness, happiness, anger and fear. The positive and negative aspects are identified. Once all the effects are analysed than a plan is designed to improve the overall growth and feeling to achieve the improvement.

Importance of Subjective Well-Being


Social wellbeing is important as it improves the mental health of a person. The quality of life is also improved by giving priority in making social connections. If a person is engaged socially then it will boost up positivity in their life (Diener, Oishi and Lucas, 2015). Thus various programs and events are planned in an organisation so that happy factor could be increased in one’s life. The social wellbeing covers the development of an individual in terms of intellectual as well as physical. Social wellbeing is important as it helps in developing positive habits by coping up good habits.

The entire lifespan keep social and subjective well-being correlated. They related the meaning of life with the structure they are living in. The wellbeing of a person can be analysed at any stage from childhood to adulthood. The meaning of life also changes at every stage. Every individual experiences various tragedies and experiences in their entire journey that affect the health of an individual (Steel, et. al, 2017). It is also affected by the culture of family and the friends they are surrounded with. The wellbeing of an individual also includes the health of them. Health issues are generally seen in the people above 24 years thus these health issues affect the life of an individual. It’s not only health issue that affect the wellbeing there are certain other factors like freedom of an individual, unemployment, finical conditions or lack of social connections (Ronen, et. al, 2016). When the person gets married the change in priorities also affect the lifestyle of an individual. Subjective wellbeing of an individual is affected is a person is not employed as it decreases the work related affection. management, retirement is one such factor that increases the well-being of an individual and also increases stress. In this way it can be expressed that well-being of an individual influences the family area likewise in a few or the other way. If a person is jobless for some period of life the overall wellbeing and work area is influenced by it. These progressions influence the normal example of living. Each individual can have diverse tragedies in life that influence the individual prosperity. Thus, changes over the span of life expectancy show that a few people report after certain life occasions and some respond in the meantime.


Different methodologies are used to measure the wellbeing of an individual. Experience Sampling Method (ESM) and the Day Reconstruction Method (DRM) are utilized. These techniques are diverse as they are not constrained to making reports but rather depend on high natural exercises in the environment. Another advantage is having complete knowledge about the self-assessment to maintain a strategic distance from twisting.

Social Well-Being

There are various issues that affect the wellbeing of an individual. The overall effect of the life is evaluated using subjective wellbeing by finding the positive, negative as well as other emotions. Well-being of a person is reflected by their personality similarly the way in which a person thinks affects the quality of their life. Subjective well-being is affected by the relationship that enhances the quality of life. According to the research wealth is one of the factors that affect the life of an individual by contributing the better health and lower moral rate. It depends upon the thinking of a person regarding their life, their emotional state helps in determining the quality of life. The subjective wellbeing could be customised by understanding the feeling of a person. Secondly it traps all the sad and bad experience of their life. According to the research it can be stated that for satisfaction of life person move from one country to other (Researchgate, 2018). From the research it can stated that poor subjective wellbeing leads to negative connection. Subjective wellbeing includes social, economic as well as environmental measures. Understanding the measures help in knowing where people should improve in their lives. This can be done by making policies and by designing charity plans for the employees as well as institutions. Subjective well-being includes fact about the reason of why an individual is happy and how can be remaining busy in their lives.  Subjective wellbeing captures the satisfaction of life by an individual. This essay the satisfaction level is measured (Knight and Gunatilaka, 2018). They analyse the stress level of a person by innovating new techniques. The wellbeing of an individual differs from one person to another and it completely depends upon the thoughts and actions that are taken by an individual. It is in one’s hand to improve their well-being that could be done by removing the negative from their life. The positive wellbeing promotes an individual to live a healthy life and supports to live longer. Personal wellbeing of an individual could be enhanced by maintaining connections with others (Biswas-Diener, 2018). While understanding the meaning of life they can live healthy life. They can be clear with their objectives by fulfilling the carer plans and keeping them connected with others.


From this essay it can be concluded that wellbeing of an individual is dependent on various factors. One of the reasons is magnitude of satisfaction from a person life and how they relate person’s approval is directly linked with person’s wellbeing. The satisfaction of wellbeing contributes in the economic growth of the country. Social well-being and subjective well-being is related to each other. Social well-being plays an important role for marketing betterment in life experiences (Soto, 2015). It can concluded from the study of this essay that wellbeing of an individual could be done by lowering the undesirable impacts of past experiences and bringing high level of satisfaction and positivity in their living.
