(1) Provide details of issues that arose during the project and how these were managed; and
(2) Demonstrate sound judgement and discretion; and
(3) Demonstrate competency and proven track record of achieving outcomes.
The background of the project is concentrated in building the footway and bikeway for better transportation.
The project concentrates on concrete pavements of the foothpaths and bikeways so that it can reduce accident and provide ample space for parking that helps in proper funtioning of the individuals nearby.
The main objective of the project is to establish a footway and bikway for all the individuals and establish a protective treatment for the loaclides with the help of well established pavement, shared path with exposed aggregate finish (Kasturiarachchi, 2009).
The most difficult and demanding requirement of this project is to establish the exposed shared path that should be 100 mm thick within the prescribed budget (Hamre, 2016). The next daunting requirement was to create coloured pavements that should look attractive and at the same time should not fade away.
The mere assumption that is being taken from my end was to keep the entire budget under $37,000 so that there much more changes of getting slected for the task as the budget should be in limit to win the tender. The profit margin has been reduced to 5% for better experince.
Our main constraints was to minimize the rate of the pavements that are to be build with a thickness of 100 mm and moreover reduce the rate of the coloured pavement as it was the main concern for alteration in the budget.
Protective treatment with hand placed concrete pavement , bikeway and foothpath
Hand placed coloured paving that is 100mm thik to the shared path with an exposed aggregate finish and also with a cobblestone inset finish.
The main specific boundaries of this section is to provide a cobblestone inset, hand placed concrete paving, hand placed colored paving and at the same time we need to keep the rate within the budget as well at the same time.
Hand placed coloured and concrete paving that is nearly 100mm thick with shared path and exposed aggregate finish.
The main boundaries of the project was to establish a coloured pavement with a better aggregate finish.
The high level risks that are associated with this project is to establish the shared pathway for bikeway and foothpath as well. The next risk is to establish a exposed aggreagate finish. The next level of risk is to set up a coloured pavement and finally apart from all these we need to make sure that the budget does not crosses the mentioned radar.
Difficulties and constraints
All the steps that are mentioned below helps in understanding the steps that are formulated as per stage and helps in the execution of the entire project successfully.
The summary budget consists of the compilation of both the satges involved in completing the project that is stage 1 and stage 2 that is mentioned below:

This is the second and the final stage that consists of all the final stages that will succesfully guide in formulating the final shared path that is actually designed for the both footway and bikeway at the same time (Knutson and Bitz, 1991). As per several assumptions and constraints we figured out that the above mentioned budget is the best suited for completing the entire project and the chances of achieving it is quite high.
The major project tolerance for the above project is to develop the shared path for both the footway and the bikeway as there are sevreal contrainst that are just developed acoording to the requirements that are metion above that includes coloured pavement of specific thickness and also with a better aggregate finish that would make it quite comfortable for everyone (Footway and cycle route design, construction and maintenance guide, 2003). The disturbances are also a factor that would arise while building it as it might contain several glitches.
There are two project interfaces that are involved in this project. One is the shared pathway for both bikes and walking and the other important interface is the aggreagte finish with cobber stone that helps it to strenghten the pavement this helps to provide better safety (Massart, 2016). Both the interfaces must be followed significantly in order to complete the project effectively.
PMBOK is the proposed project approach as this is the best and the most effective one that is followed worldwide (Pawlak and Vinter, 2004) . The significance of PMBOK are mentioned below :
- This approach is driven by the requirements of the customer
- This is the best knowledge based approach that is used for project management
- This the best non-perspective practice
- The primary role is being allocated to the project manager
- Provides the most comprehensive information on the aspect of project management.
- It describes a wide range of techniques and core practices that helps in completing the project effectively
The best project approval techniques are mentioned below:
- Provide the best budget than any any other individual that involes less amount of appraisal and at the same time provide the best quality work possible
- Proposal of compelting the task in the least number of days than any other competitors
- Follow the PMBOK project approach that is being followed by most of them in the world as provides better results as well
- Completing the entire project effectively with resposibilities and secuirity of the citizens that stay nearby the construction site.
