Evaluation of the internal as well as external factors and their impact on the process of project management
It is analyzed that enterprise environmental factors generally create both positive as well as negative impact on the process of project management and on the operation of the organization (Smith, 2016). It is found that the enterprise environmental factors are generally divided into internal as well as external factors that are helpful in creating proper influence on the project that is generally undertaken.
According to Zinovieva et al. (2016), external EEFs are those that generally help in create a huge impact on both the project as well as organization, however, the internal factors generally create impact within the project core. It is found that there are a number of internal as well as external enterprise environmental factors that are generally associated with the organization Quasar communication which further creates a huge impact on the procedure of project management.
It is found that there are a number of internal EEFs that are mainly associated with the organisation quasar communication in order to create an impact on the procedure of project management. The internal factors that generally create an impact on the procedure of project management are generally elaborated below:
Improper authority: It is identified that as QCI adopted project management structure that is fragmented as well as informal, it is found that the project managers are provided with lots of responsibilities with very much little authority while the entire authority is provided to the line managers (Kuratko Hornsby & Covin, 2014). Due to the improper division of authority, it became quite difficult to manage the projects that are generally undertaken by the organization QCI.
Inappropriate organizational structure: It is found that due to improper organizational structure, the work that is related with the project is not divided properly within the team member and as a result, it generally creates a number of issues in managing the project successfully.
Corporate culture: Style of the functioning of top management as well as learning of the organization are mainly considered as one of the important factors for properly managing the organizational operations (Yang et al., 2017). It is identified that the organization generally follows corporate culture in which decisions are generally made by the top managers. It is found that due to this corporate culture, it is quite difficult to manage the project effectively without taking proper views of the project team members as well as leaders.
The external factors that generally creates an impact on the project management processes are generally elaborated below:
Competition: It is identified that the organization faces a number of different types of challenges while dealing with the competition. In order to deal with the rising competition, the organization generally dealt with an external organization so that they can be able to train the stakeholders of the organization in project management (Kroon, 2016). But as the line managers opposed, fragmented as well as the informal structure of project management. It is found that due to this inappropriate structure of project management, it is very much difficult to manage the projects of Quasar Communication quite effectively.
Improper authority
Technological changes: It is identified that the changes that are generally needed can generally create a number of challenges as well as issues. It is found that with the changes within the technology, it is very much necessary to utilize proper techniques in order to manage the operations of the organization. however due to change in tools and techniques, it is very much difficult for the project managers to handle or manage the project effectively due to lack of knowledge and skills in the new technologies (Kaczmarek, 2017).
Suppliers: Both the suppliers as well as customers are generally found as the most important stakeholders who are mainly related with the organization “Quasar communication”. It is identified that if the suppliers of the organizations create a negative impact on the overall organizational process then it is quite difficult to manage the project quite effectively and thus it is analyzed that the suppliers can create a negative impact on the project (Allison & Redhead, 2017).
It is very much necessary to take appropriate actions so that the problems that generally occurs due to enterprise environmental factors can get properly resolved. The actions which are generally required to be taken are listed below:
Development of proper organizational structure: It is very much necessary for the organization to develop a proper organizational structure so that proper authority is provided to the project managers. This will be helpful in managing the projects of Quasar organization quite effectively (Hystad et al., 2014). Thu, it is identified that the development of proper organizational structure will be quite helpful for the organization in creating a positive impact in context to project management.
Proper corporate culture: It is found that it is quite necessary to develop a proper corporate culture within the organization. It is found that proper culture within the organization will be able to provide proper equal rights to both the team members as well as the higher authority of the organization (Smith, 2016). It is identified that equal rights assist the stakeholders in making proper decisions related to the projects which further assists in managing the project quite effectively. Thus, it can be analysed that the presence of proper corporate culture is quite helpful in making proper business-related decisions which further assists in creating a huge impact in managing the project.
Avoiding technological change: It is found that it is quite necessary to avoid the technological changes that are generally required within the project (Allison & Redhead, 2017). It is found that after the initiation phase of the project, if new techniques, as well as technologies, are used then it will be quite difficult for the project manager to manage the project. In order to resolve the problem, it is very much necessary to avoid technological changes within the project.
Making proper relation with the suppliers: If the organization has proper relations with the customers as well as suppliers then their action will not create any type of negative impact on the operations of the organization. Thus, it will be quite easy to manage the projects successfully.
Inappropriate organizational structure
Distribution of authority: The organization must provide proper authority to the project managers with proper responsibilities instead of the line managers so that they can be able to finish the work of the project quite effectively without creating any type of problem (Hystad et al., 2014). Is action is generally needed for managing all the projects o the QLC effectively as well as successfully so that the project can be able to achiest proper goals as well as objectives
