Significance of Cyberculture in South Korea

This research aims to critically analyse the impact of computing issues in contemporary times. The research problem and the research questions have been developed through a conducted survey related to the same topic.

Cyberculture or internet culture has been considered to be a gradually progressing process and product development within the culture of cyberspace [1]. The influence of the internet and the growing technological trends ta present have been quite significant in the current scenario of society. Considering the cyber profile of South Korea, it has been noticed that the range of internet streaming and dependence on cyberspace is quite impactful. However, with the progressive and emergent trends in the country, the issues and challenges of internet surfing have been quite high [2]. To prevent the scenario from getting worse the country has been planning considerable steps in improving the security system of the internet speed. The South Korean government has subsequently worked to regulate the streaming platforms, specifically Afreeca TV since it is becoming a controversial segment to determine the corruptness of the cyberculture [3]. From the conducted survey it has been noticed that the participants have mixed views over the enraging issue related to computing. The survey included participants to collect factual data and information related to the selected issue.

The above chart signifies the popularity of the various available brands selling electronic devices in the country. Out of which Samsung can be noticed to be the most preferred company to purchase. The other preferable companies have been Hansung and LG. The reason behind taking it under concern that which of the brands are the most purchased by the people is to determine the customer satisfaction rate at present.  Even though the customer satisfaction rate of Samsung, Hansung and LG has been quite fair considering the recent quarters, the users have been faced with subsequent issues related to software and coding system in the country. To specify the research areas, it has been further noticed that the participants have provided their opinions on the most appreciated growing technological trend in the country.

The above-mentioned chart reflects the percentage of the participants sharing their opinion related to facing computing issues in the country at present. It has been noticed that around 28% of the population agrees with the question that is often facing computing issues lately. Around 18% of the participants direct that they have to face the issue at certain intervals, however, the majority of the participants reflect that they do not face the issue. In this context, the survey further ventures into the opinions of the users to collect responses on the most preferred or supported emerging technological trends in the country.

It can be noticed from the above-mentioned diagram that; the people of South Korea are quite aware of the current emergent technological trends in the country. Around 42% of the participants which is the maximum percentage of the users agree that “Edge Computing” is the most effective trend out of the prevalent options. The next popular trend among the participants has been noticed be Artificial Intelligence and Virtual and Augmented Reality which has acquired around 28% and 26% of agreement from the total participants. Furthermore, to justify the awareness of the people in South Korea, the survey asked the participants to share their opinions on the latest prevailing challenges in the computing trends at present. The chart presented below reflects the prevalence of the most impactful computing challenges considering the recent emerging trends of technological development. It has been noticed that the participants have shown mixed opinions on the question. Although the perspective is varied, most of the partisans which are about 34% have selected "Security" as the most enduring challenge. Participants have also shown concern for Compliance (20%) and Managing Cloud Spend (14%). Considering the variation in the opinions of the participants, the differences in the perspectives are significantly evident. Hence, it can be inferred from the conducted survey that, due to the differences in perspectives and opinions a concrete conclusion could not be present, yet it is proven that the issues related to computing trends are quite prominent in recent times.

Following the above analysis of the data collected from the survey, it can be noticed that the progressing cyberculture has been eventful yet challenging for the country's profile in contemporary times. The influence of the cyberculture has imposed significant threats on the emerging computing trends at present.

The identified research question can be listed as-

Do the emerging trends in the cyberculture add to the prevalent contemporary computing issue?

Brief introduction about the researcher

It has been noticed that the primary characteristics and attributes have been quite effective in signifying the true nature of an accurate researcher. I can introduce myself as a good researcher since I believe that I have followed the ethical guidelines of the human perspective while preparing the survey for this particular research study. I have been truthful about the purpose of the research while introducing the main purpose of the research. The further qualities of a researcher which has been reflected while conducting the survey have been explained in the later sections.

The ways in which the qualities of a researcher can be assessed is by following the three primary criteria of research. The researchers must follow the three basic guidelines or considerations which are- Ethical Considerations, Professional Considerations and Legal Considerations [4].

• Ethical Considerations-Ethical considerations are regarded as the collection of significant principles and values which needs to be followed while dealing with human affairs [7]. To maintain proper conduct while dealing with a selected population for surveys and other kinds of research it is necessary that the researcher is friendly with the respondents. Moreover, it is also necessary for the researcher to abide by the cultural beliefs and sentiments of the respondents, hence a true researcher needs to be free from prejudices and stereotypes when working with a certain group or community. Furthermore, it is also important for the researcher to be a keen observer of the characteristics of the population [5].
• Professional Considerations-The professional considerations in the research are considered to be guidelines that need to be followed by the researchers while structuring the methodical design of data collection and interpretation of the research [8]. To maintain the professional standards of the research it is necessary that the researchers maintain accuracy while delivering information related to the research ideas and requirements to the participants. It is considered to be the duty of the researchers to maintain ethical principles and conduct the research with respect [6].
• Legal Considerations-The third element of honest research is the legal considerations which are equally essential criteria that need to be fulfilled by the researchers. To maintain the legal considerations the researcher, need to abide by the regulatory bodies regarding the standards of ethical principle [8]. As a researcher, it is essential to ensure that the capacity for depth information is maintained while preparing the questionnaire for qualitative surveys. Moreover, the documentation needs to bear the least discouragement so that the participants are encouraged to willingly take part in the process [5].

To abide by the standard guidelines of a quality researcher, it was necessary for me to ensure that I included the following areas in the process of conducting the research-

• Careful in listening-It is necessary that the researchers maintain patience with the respondents to derive most of the relevant information required to conduct the survey [4]. Since my circulated survey has been virtual, I could not physically be present to listen to the opinions of the researchers. To compensate for the following I ensured that the questions are short and self-explanatory.
• Low Dependency on Common Sense-I have been careful in drafting the structure of the research which has been conducted through a qualitative survey [5]. I circulated a google form that contained open-ended direct questions. The questions aimed to derive concrete and essential data to avoid redundancy and overstretching the issue. I have developed the paper maintaining a serious tone of factual statements rather than depending on common factors. Moreover, the questions were short to make the survey least time-consuming.

Conclusion

From the above analysis, it can be concluded that the issue related to computing is quite concerning given the emerging trends in technological development all over the world. The project centred around South Korea to gain a selective population and sample size to conduct the research survey. Following the inference of analysing the collected data through the survey the research problem and research question. Moreover, the second part of the research also discussed the various attributes of a true researcher following the provided outline of basic human characteristics.
