Community sector organizations refer to the organizations which are dedicated for the betterment of the society and the people of the society. The examples are the various NGOs, self help groups, social enterprises, co-operatives and others. The three most famous community sector organizations of Australia are Metro Assist, Settlement Service International and Sydwest Multicultural Services. Metro Assist is one of the most popular community service organizations which provide various community services like settlement of migrant, services of tenancy, arrangement of emergency relief fund, provide support to family and early intervention and many others (www.metroassist.org.au 2016). Settlement Service International (SSI) is a humanitarian NGO which is community based. The various services of SSI are settlement of humanitarian, providing accommodation, multicultural foster care, support to disables and many others (www.ssi.org.au 2016). Sydwest Multicultural Services is a community organization which provides supports to disable and senior people, support to family and children, humanitarian settlement and others (www.sydwestms.org.au 2016).

Community organizations work towards the betterment of the society and the people of the society. From the above tripology grid, it can be observed that the three companies that are Metro Assist, Settlement Service International and Sydwest Multicultural Services have almost similar kind of operations. The reason is that these companies are non profit making organization registered by the government of the country. However, there are some difference exists in their missions, volunteers, findings and strategic plans. The analysis of the differences and similarities are shown below by explaining each company’s operations:

The mission statement of Metro Assist tells a lot about the organization. The main aim of the organization is the empowerment of the people of the society. Here, the people refer to the individuals, the families and the communities of the society. According to them, there should be respect, dignity and diversity of each and every people in the organization. This company is based on some values like care, mutual respect, client focused, innovation, honesty and integrity. The unique position of this company is the specialist knowledge about culturally and linguistically diverse communities. The source of income of this organization is donations, rising of funds by different activities and various grants. The organization has a strong volunteer base to conduct various activities. Anyone can be the volunteers of this organization. The strategic plan of Metro Assist is well structured. Time to time they arrange various kind of activities for the betterment of the society. They use to adopt strategic plans for short periods like one year or two years. Retention of the strategy depends on the success of that strategy. Metro Assist has a well built mechanism to utilize the limited resource of the organization (Edwards & Yankey, 2006).

Criteria for Comparison

Settlement Services International (SSI) is an organization which believes in the creation of a society which gives value to the diversification. Here, diversification refers to the diversification of the people of the community. They want the people of the society to participate in the economy and the reach to their potential. The source of income of this organization is donations and various kind of fund raising. They invite donations from all over the world. They have a large number of volunteers who helps the refugees and migrants to be adopted in the Australian work culture. The aims of the five years strategic plan of SSI are to develop stronger relationship with the stakeholders of the company, to enhance the governance and capacity of the organization, to achieve the sustainability of the organization and to develop the ways to fulfill the needs of the disadvantaged children. There are various directions of the five year strategies. The five aims include the identification and solution of key issues with the stakeholders, to make SSI a fit-for-purpose organization with necessary policies, to formulate a diversified range of works, to create opportunities for the betterment of the society and to develop more trusted relationships with the refugees and migrants (Hudson 2009).

As per the mission statement of Sydwest Multicultural Services, the organization believes in the empowerment of the people of the community by giving direct services and presentations. The main focus of the organization is to provide help to the most needy and vulnerable people and children. The source of funding of this organization is donations and grants. They have some donation programs for the purpose to raise funds. This organization has a lot of volunteers to help them in conducting various kinds of empowerment programs. The volunteers train the families and children and make them educated. Sydwest Multicultural Services achieved a lot by their strategic plan. In 2015, they have taken multicultural policies and service programs to carry on the progress of the organization. They review their programs on a regular basis in order to strengthen the people of the community. They use to provide daily reports to the senior managers to bring clarity in the total operation. As per the strategic plans, Sydwest uses to distribute resources for the implementation of multicultural educations in the communities. On the other hand, they use to arrange different kind of training programs the people of the communities (Lyons 2001).

Conclusion

From the above analysis it can be observed that the basic operation of these three companies is same. However, Metro and Sydwest give emphasis on the empowerment of the people of the community where SSI gives emphasis on the diversification of the community people. In spite of this reason, the purpose of all the three companies is to do some good for the people of the community. The funding structure of these three companies is same as they depend on donations and grants. On the other hand, there are not many differences in the volunteers of the companies. These three companies provide opportunities to people from all life to come forward and help them to help the needy. The volunteers are from youth age, form retired people and from housewives. However there are differences among the companies regarding the field of the volunteers. It has been seen that SSI has the most well structured strategic plan among the three companies as they have a five years strategic plan for the smooth running of the organization. However, it does not mean that the other two companies do not have effective plans. Metro Assist implements their strategic plans in such a way that there is not any wastage of resources. On the other hand, Sydwest observes their plan on a regular basis to make it more effective. Thus from the above discussion, it can be concluded that all these three companies are doing a great job to change the society and to strengthen the people of the community.
