Self-reflection and analysis are ways and methods in which one can understand levels of knowledge and skills present (Gray, 2007). Every individual needs to understand such knowledge and skill levels such as to be able to apply them in a better more effective manner in the scope of business. the scope of the current module concentrated on ways of conduct in business focuses on a wide range of issues and dilemmas that one is exposed to. While the module is self-explanatory in nature and comparatively easier to understand yet there are a diversified range of topics that needs to be completed within a very short time span. such increasing challenges of this module has created a lot of lags in learning hence this reflection statement will help understand them (Boud, 2013). Post a critical reflection of self an action plan has been developed that will help cater to diversified challenges and issues covered in the self-reflection. the action plan will act as a recommended plan which if incorporated will help overcome the major shortcomings in various aspects in the field. thus, the aim of this reflection is focus on analyzing the various gaps existing within the individual post undertaking of this important module of this course work. In the end there are certain recommendations that needs to be undertaken that will help become a successful professional in the field.    

The module on ways to conduct business covers various relevant and important materials in which individuals understand and develop knowledge in business field (Yang, 2009). Post undertaking lengths and breadths of this course it is possible to emerge as a knowledgeable person who is ready for employment in the business world as a successful employee for an organization. As this course has capability to develop skills and knowledge that can render professional conduct within organizations. This covers a vast range of topics encompassing professional ethics, decision making criteria’s and other relevant aspects that is required and applicable in organizations (Fook, 2007). I feel immensely thankful and grateful towards my University Principal for allowing me to be a part of this course. Through rigorous concept and skills developed by my University Professors there has been tremendous amounts of knowledge transfer that would not have been possible in any other way. The technique that is adopted for covering the course requirements is unique in nature as we are provided with class handouts as well as case study analysis to apply concepts and theories into practice. I have gained tremendous knowledge inputs from this course which I will use in my future career course. However, there are certain learning and skill gap that I have diagnosed through reflection analysis which needs to be overcome (Lanxiao, 2007). Prior to taking this course I had fear of whether I would be able to comprehend the course requirements entirely and even after being through the course I have not been able to overcome this fear. This fear of me has stopped me from researching of more data and information in connection with this course. This has led me to lower levels of confidence and impact on learning as well as development. I feel I have a gap in knowledge and skill levels due to not referring to journals and other case studies that are outside the scope of this course (Kuhn, 2008).

Action Plan

In regards to my learning in this course, though we have been taught concepts on application of ethics and professional codes of conduct, yet I feel I lack those skills. The theoretical orientation of this course has prevented me to gain knowledge in regards to understanding ways and means in which this area of knowledge is applied within businesses. Further the various decision making approaches in business by utilization of game theory and various other business principles needs to be understood in depths. I do not completely understand the ways in which business decisions are taken in various situations (Elliott, 2008). Though we have had thorough discussion pertaining to the field in class along with case studies and other related work. As there are a multiple type of theories and concepts present which are relevant while taking business decisions it sometimes becomes extremely confusing to decide on a particular course of action.


Another critical and vital area of conduct in business is in regards to teamwork which has to be undertaken on a regular basis (Berings, 2009). While we are exposed to several group assignments at our University levels for understand ways in which group works and performs, yet I feel working of groups within organizations has complete separate structure. I have understanding regarding teamwork and its importance however, I feel I will lack in areas of application when I will work in a particular organization. Thus, I need to enhance my skills pertaining to teamwork exercises that helps me develop my skills and roles in team, such that I am capable of making a positive contribution to the team within organization in which I will work (Govaerts, 2010). Further, the below mentioned action plan will help me become a successful professional in the field of business by adopting detailed understanding of the course

While self-reflection help diagnose and understand the necessary areas in which I lag, it becomes essential to develop a course of action that will help overcome levels of difficulties and challenges faced (Bourguignon). I have understood regarding myself on this module by maintain a self-analytical journal, where I tracked my developed and knowledge growth from time to time. I aim to maintain this journal till I am able to overcome areas of difficulty. This journal I will update and reflect on a six month basis such that any development can easily be traced. As this course had a very limited time period within which it had to be completed hence it was nearly impossible to understand it in lengths and depths. Hence, I will undertake extensive research based approach to understand this course in a better way by resorting to our library (Husebø, 2015). Our library is well equipped with various and multiple books on this topic along with pertinent case studies of the same. I will take aid from self-help books that helps us understand various topics in a much better way. My library also has several books and journals from paste years that can highlight several challenges faced and ways in which they can be overcome.

Recommendation


I will take guidance from my University Professor regarding my various lag areas, as he will be the best person to guide in this process (Finlay, 2008). I will take guidelines from him and practice them on a regular basis such that my learning and skill development can further be entailed. According to his guidance I will undertake learning from books and journals that he refers to. I hope such learning and resorting to such material will lift up my spirits and motivational levels and overcome my lag areas. I will further undertake extensive learning from the course materials itself and application skills in professional ethics as well as teamwork. I will view several case examples of teamwork exercises such that I am able to develop my skills in regards to myself. I will take help from my friends and colleagues for forming a closed group or a team by which I will be able to undertake team exercise. Such practices will allow me to enhance my skills at a professional level in business. When I will be employed in the industry I will be readily be able to undertake any team related exercises which will enhance my professional career.

Analysis of various facts in regards to self-reflection has revealed multiple gasp in levels of understanding. Such gasp in understanding and lack can only be overcome my means of extensive planning of a development exercise. With an action plan in place it becomes easier to achieve aims and overcome any existing lag areas. The above are certain recommendations which in case incorporated can help overcome contingencies and areas of knowledge and skill gaps. The only recommendation for overcoming the current situation is by timely execution of the action plan developed. After careful execution of the plan it is possible to overcome challenges and emerge as a successful student as well as a successful professional in the field of business. the core aim to undertake the process of self-reflection and analysis in this particular field is to become a leading professional in the field such that I can have a successful career as well. Undertaking teamwork exercises and professional ethics codes will help me become a better professional compared to the rest in business areas. Hence, it is essential that I undertake the development and planning ways entailed.
