Overview of Virtual Child International Park

The virtual child international park is the virtual world provided to the children after the completion of their school. The guardians who got the membership of the virtual child international park are called Park rangers. The entrance pass is provided to the guardians who have registered in the virtual world of the park (Campbell, 2016). The goal of this project is to provide a park environment to the children by sitting at their home. The purpose of this paper is to develop the data flow diagram and entity relationship diagram for demonstrating the flow of information between different modules and managing relationship between the participating units. The DFD diagram focuses on the flow of information between different modules which are incorporated in the project to get effective result for the proper functioning of the system. The ER diagram is constructed to represent the relationship which exists between the different coordinating units for the successful implementation of the project. The development of the physical and the logical DFD helps in defining the relationship between different entities which are taken for resolving the issues of the current system. The development of the DFD helps in transmitting clear information with the top executive to analyse the scenario of the current problem and how it can be rectified with the proposed plan structure.

The credit agency is appointed for performing credit checks on the entrance of the members in the park. There are various services provided by the VCI Park which are categorised as development of the theme parks which have many games, the searching can be performed with the help of library function, homework provided can be effectively done with the use of tutorial function, and arrangement of the distance learning program with the effective utilization of university function in providing certificates and credits to the participant students (Passenheim, 2011). The guardians are also provided with various services such as checking the charges which are left, the activities of the members should be scheduled, managing communication between the park rangers and member participant of the portal. The entrance process should be carried out with the guardians to become the part of the VCI Park. The process of the entrance test is acquired with number of steps such as managing question and answer round, allocation of the bonus time with the minimum response in providing better park service, deduction of time from the park services, providing proper amount of time to under remediation services, deduction of the bonus point from the park services used, and the tutorial is provided to the guardians who provide poor response to the guardian. The time of entrance into the park will start deducting from the bonus point gained by the guardian (Kjolhede, 2012). The membership is provided to the children who are between the age of 10 to 15 years of age. The monthly fee is charged from the members of the park. They have to pay extra charges for using the park services for longer duration of time. In general, 40 minutes are provided for the theme park, 20 minutes for using Library facility, and 15 minutes are allocated for using tutorial service. The communication between the members takes place through written typed messages.

Services Provided by VCI Park

The development of the virtual child international park follows some set of rules which should be applied for the effective working of the system. The virtual child international park is equipped with various facilities like gaming, tutorial service, library facilities, generation of certificates, and others. The scope of the project is to develop a DFD and ER diagram for expressing relationship to get a peer view of entities and the circulation of information for getting desired result of the output (Wang, 2011). The focus should be given on analysing the in-scope and out of scope activities for managing the flow of information (Gao, 2014). The selection of the entities helps in demonstrating the scheduling of activities for managing membership program of the client and managing invoices of payment regarding to the numbers of hour worked on the virtual game environment (Lister, 2015).

In scope activities of the project:

  • Payment for hourly use of the gaming zone
  • Payment for using the tutorial facility
  • Payment for using the library facility
  • The total amount charged is added to the invoice of the member
  • The customer should have to made payments within the period of 35 days
  • The credit card can be used for making payment
  • The membership of the customer will be cancelled if payment is not paid for the period of two months from the date of enrolment
  • The entrance of the children above the age of 15 will not be allowed for the gaming zone
  • The invoice number and enrolment number is provided to the park ranker
  • Calculation of total hours used in the gaming zone
  • Calculation of the amount of fee charged
  • The total time is calculated from the difference of start time and the end time.
  • Pre-payment of the services are provided with 10 % discount
  • Late payment of the fees is charged with 15% penalty
  • 20 % penalty on the bouncing of the check
  • The total bonus time will be deducted from the total amount of hours spent on the virtual park
  • The creation of row is equipped with extra amount of charge.

Out of scope activities:

  • No variation in the charge of Library facility
  • No variation in the payment of tutorial service
  • No variation in the development of certificates from the university
  • No difference in charge on the selection of different theme
  • No variation in the bonus for pre-payment with relation to number of days

Logical DFD of the proposed project helps in specifying the top level design of the project for effective communication to demonstrate the project problem. According to the given scenario, the flow of information should be managed between the Park ranker and administrator for the acceptance and rejection of the entrance form filled by the guardian. The administrator can reject the proposal if the age of the student is greater than 15 years of age. The database is required for managing the invoices of payment made by the guardian which depends upon the total hours used for playing the games on the interactive world.

Target audience of the program are Guardian, park ranker, and administrator. The entities help in managing the database entries for bringing accuracy in the invoices calculation of the particular park ranker. The purpose of creating the logical design of the project is to resolve the problems and issues which exist with the traditional working of the game.
