Question:
Discuss about the Systems Development of UNICEF Child Care.
John Smith is the Chairman of UNICEF Child Care. The institution is governed by group of people. Headquarter of the institution is placed in Sydney, Australia. The organisation also has five branches in Australia in Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Rock Hampton. They cater caring for the underprivileged children who ages range between six weeks and thirteen. They provide food and other services to those children. Teachers and nannies are also provided by the institution to the children. The children’s parents who want UNICEF’s service will have to enrol at UNICEF’s website and the parents can enjoy the service simply by paying minimal fees through the online portal of the UNICEF Child Care.
UNICEF Child Care has several objectives-
- To design an online platform so that the employee staff across five centres of the institution can communicate with one other all day and night 24x7
- To maintain the stock level of the inventory across five centres of UNICEF Child Care
- To forward annual statement to the parents of the children
- To send thanks message to the parents who prefer to pay the fess online
UNICEF Child Care needs to assign an IT team. The IT team will develop the cloud ERP software. The cloud ERP will be deployed over the cloud platform. UNICEF can be largely benefitted implementing the software. They need to host the cloud ERP software over the cloud platform so they need to take up the cloud vendor services. Microsoft and Amazon are known to provide quality cloud solutions. Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure can be a good option for the ERP software.
The software can give them several benefits. The employees of the organisation can communicate with one other. The administrators can communicate with the employees across the five centres- Brisbane, Rock Hampton, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney. The admin of UNICEF can keep track of the supplies items and can be able to order as per requirements. Therefore, cloud ERP implementation is absolute necessity for UNICEF. UNICEF Child Care must create IT team as that will facilitate their business in the long run. The IT developer team will develop the software. The IT support team will implement and configure the software. The IT support team will train the admin as well as employees and will assist so that they can use the software effectively.
System Requirements for UNICEF Child Care can be branched into functional requirements and non-functional requirements.
- The IT team must configure the cloud ERP software in real time. The integrated system is relied upon constant updates
- The IT team will host the cloud ERP software on AWS or Azure platform
The IT support team will implement and configure the software in the system across the five centres of UNICEF in Australia. They will execute the software on Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure. They will also install the antimalware software in the system across the five centres of UNICEF so that the employee can conduct the business activities safely and securely
- The institution will have to pay heavy for adopting cloud ERP software. UNCEF can be quite sure that it will facilitate them in the coming future. The IT team must develop the cloud ERP within the budget and stipulated deadline
Cloud ERP Implementation
The non-functional requirements for UNICEF Child Care-
- The cloud ERP must be crafted in such a way so that the employees and admin staff can find it convenient to use the software
- The IT team will have to make sure that the cloud ERP software get restored comfortable after it crashes.
The in-house IT team must make sure that the software is safe and secured to use. They will have to implement certain measures so that the software does not hacked.

The project manager is responsible to prepare the project plan for UNICEF Child Care. The plan consists of all the activities that the stakeholders will conduct. The work break down structure explains the list of activities along with the project dependencies. The work break down structure demonstrates the project dependencies. The UNICEF Child Care organisation has been showcased in the work breakdown structure.
The gantt chart showcases the project operations or the organisation’s operations. The diagram showcases the UNICEF business activities. The stakeholders can acknowledge what activities they need to conduct.
The goal of the institution is to design the cloud ERP program. The software will embellish the business activities. The employee and the admin can interact with the other employees and admin of the UNICEF centres. The children’s parents can pay the fees online. The cloud ERP software will help them to provide 24x7 services to the customers. The cloud ERP software will help them to check the inventory products’ stock.
UNICEF requires an IT team who will implement the software in their premises. The software will give them immense benefits. The employee and the admin must find the software convenient to use. The cloud ERP must give efficient outcome without any errors. The cloud ERP will be hosted on Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
The stakeholders’ list associated with the project are-

The project manager applies three investigation methodologies. The ‘Gathering Information’, Prioritise System Requirements’ and ‘Defining System Requirements’ are considered useful and are considered for this project. ‘Gathering Information’ defines many issues of the software. ‘Defining System Requirements’ detailed the business operations linked with the cloud ERP software. ‘Prioritise System Requirements’ illustrate many software uses.
Gathering Information’ has certain useful ness. The resource stakeholder of the project can know what the real causes behind the cloud ERP implementation and configuration. UNICEF Child Care has five branches in Australia and the cloud ERP can assist the employees as wel as the admins so that they can stay interconnected with each other. The administrators can manage the inventory’s stock level. Therefore, it is utmost necessary for them to install the software in the five branches.
Again, UNICEF must hire the IT developer team. The in-house IT developer team will prepare the software and it will help the business analyst and the administrator of UNICEF to know the actual requirements and this will help them to order the products accordingly. The children’s parents can pay fees online over the UNICEF website. The cloud ERP will help them to send a yearly statement. Thus the potential benefits of cloud ERP can be known from ‘Defining System Requirements’.
The stock level of the inventory can be tracked by UNICEF. The cloud ERP can help the employees across the five branches so that they can interconnect with each other. These two comes under ‘Prioritise System Requirements’.
Reflections and Conclusions
According to me, the cloud ERP software will cater numerous advantages to the customers. I believe that after the installation of the software, they will get agile error free solution. The financial data will be calculated with the aid of the cloud ERP and an annual statement will be sent to the children’s parents. The children’s’ parents can pay fees online via UNICEF’s website. The administrator can know how many products they require and can order accordingly. Thus I believe they will be facilitated heavily configuring the software in their premises.
