A profession can be termed as a form of occupation which requires a particular qualification and training. Furthermore, the term denotes certain roles and responsibilities which need to be accomplished by individuals. A professional possess certain skill set and knowledge base which is acquired through proper education, training and research (Dixit, Hazarika, & Davim, 2017). The skills and knowledge are further used by professionals for interest and benefit of other people living in the society.

Over the past few years, engineering management has gained huge popularity as a sound profession. Nowadays, the engineers invest their talent, time and resources in various areas for the growth and benefit of society. The present research proposal is based on mechanical profession and the topic undertaken for investigation is “To analyze the effectiveness of solar power systems in meeting future energy requirement.” Furthermore, Australia will be selected as a country to carry out the investigation.
Project Context
Profession
The profession can be known as any activity which needs proper training to carry out assigned task. This concept is all about obtaining knowledge, skills, expertise from the sources available for accomplishing the career goals. Any type of engineer with background in mechanical engineering holds duty to undertake manufacturing tasks and developing products as per the need and requirement of the market (Jørgensen & Valderrama, 2016).

Engineering as a profession is developing at the faster pace in the modern era and it necessary for an individual to have proper knowledge associated with this field. Apart from this, the field of engineering management provides a base in developing knowledge which is directly associated with the industrial engineering. Considering the case of present study area of mechanical engineering has been undertaken which considers electricity, material science, etc. Apart from this, it is linked with the profession as energy which is a part of mechanical engineering (Kalogirou, 2013). Further, the entire sector is developing at a faster pace with the advancement in the field of engineering such as the concept of solar power energy which is considered to be most effective way to produce energy at minimal cost.
Evaluating the energy industry of Australia
Considering the present condition of Australian energy market, it has been identified that energy crisis has adversely affected the entire nation. Further, the key challenge which is linked with the energy industry is the production of electricity with the help of traditional methods which involves fossils fuels such as coal, etc. (Crawford, Bartak, Stephan, & Jensen, 2016). On a yearly basis, the market of solar energy panels within Australia is rising at a faster pace where the government is also involved in promoting this area. Further, rising environmental issues such as natural disasters, global warming, etc. are forcing every nation to indulge in the practices of producing energy with the help of solar panels.

With the help of solar energy, it is possible to save a large amount of cost, and it plays a major role in environmental protection also. Apart from this, solar power systems have supported in replacing the traditional energy where this concept is based on fossil fuels such as coal, etc. (Dixit, Hazarika, & Davim, 2017). The price of electricity has significantly raised and along with this environmental concerns are rising at a faster pace. Producing energy with the help of traditional method increases the environmental burden and due to this reason concept of Solar power energy is gaining importance at a faster pace.
Project Proposal
Background
In the present scenario, the country such as Australia is suffering from heavy energy crises and the government is still in search of identifying extra sources through which energy can be generated to meet the growing demand. The crises have resulted in increasing the rates of energy within the country, and the citizens have started facing issues such a frequent blackouts. Even businesses operating at small and medium scale are facing challenges in their overall operations because the government and electricity departments have imposed several restrictions on the use and consumption of energy (Djordjevic, Parlevliet, & Jennings, 2014). Now, the major challenge present in front of government is to either find the extra capacity of energy or to identify new sources from where energy can be generated, and the up scaling demand can be satisfied.

Solar power system is considered as one of the most reliable and cleanest forms of energy available all across the world. These systems work on a basic principle of consuming energy derived from the sun and converting the same for household and commercial purpose. Nowadays, even governments in many countries are encouraging businesses and residents to install solar power system and use the energy provided by these systems (Simpson & Clifton, 2016). The major and most important benefit of solar power systems is that they help in the reducing the dependency on non-renewable sources of energy.
Aims And Objectives
In the present scenario, Australia is facing crises regarding meetings is energy requirement. Over the past few years, it has become almost impossible for households and small businesses to access adequate energy as the energy prices are increasing constantly. At the same time, the demand of solar power system has increased with the country, and the government also sees potential in solar systems as a new form of energy. The present researcher will emphasize analyzing the overall effectiveness of solar power systems in satisfying the future energy requirement of Australia. The researcher will be focusing on the reasons behind rising demand for solar power systems and will also seek for identifying the advantages of using solar power systems within the nation.

Literature Review
Overview Of The Solar Energy Market In Australia

Among all the continents in the world, Australia has the highest solar radiation per square meter and this has resulted making it the most potential market for the solar energy production. Particularly the desert regions in the North West and center of a continent has the most abundant and large resources of solar energy (Hau, Oliphant, & Hu, 2016).

As per the research carried out Australia receives an average of 58 million PJ of solar radiation annually, which is approximately 10,000 times greater than its overall energy consumption. But currently Australia consumption of solar energy is very less by available solar energy resources, and it merely contributes 0.1 percent of Australia's total primary energy consumption. The most primary use of solar energy in Australia is solar thermal water heating. In remote areas, solar PV system plays a vital role in off-grid electricity production (Hau, Oliphant, & Hu, 2016).

However Australian government is continuously working and targeting on the renewable energy sources to meet the increasing energy demands (Sharon & Reddy, 2015). As a result, the Australian government has developed and implemented ' Clean Energy Initiative Solar Flagships Program.' It is particularly managed by the department of resources energy and tourism which has contributed $ 1.5 billion towards the construction and development of four large- scale power plants in Australia with implementation of solar thermal and PV technologies (Petersen & Buch, 2016).
Growing Demand Of Solar Energy In Australia
In the global world, solar energy is now considered as one of the most sustainable and renewable sources of energy which is a bliss to the environment. As a result, Australia is making its every possible effort to go green and be an Eco -Friendly continent (Kalogirou, 2013). It minimizes the pollution and reduces the emission of carbon dioxide gas which is majorly responsible for global warming. It is also very cost effective to produce, and its eco- efficiency technology helps in reducing financial cost and generates more revenues (Shafiullah, 2016).
Benefits Associated With Using Solar Energy
Nowadays the use of solar power systems is increasing within homes and offices. The rationale behind this growing popularity is that energy generated from the solar system is a renewable source of energy. The energy is the abundant availability of this energy and people cannot run out of this energy source (Pospischil, Furchi, & Muelle, 2014). However, it can be critically argued that solar energy cannot be termed as reliable because it is dependent on weather. In rainy and cloudy days, fluctuations in energy are very common. On the other side of this, the advantage of using solar energy is that it supports in saving electrify bills and the maintenance cost of this energy is also very low (Sener & Fthenakis, 2014).
Project Plan
Data Collection And Approaches
For conducting the entire study various tools and techniques will be employed which will assist in accomplishing the objectives associated with the study. Further, the descriptive design will be adopted where main stress will be on describing the topic being chosen. Through this design, it will be possible to know how effective the solar power systems in meeting energy need of Australia are. For data collection, two approaches are present which involves primary and secondary. In the present study, data will be obtained only from secondary sources where different books, journals, and online articles will be accessed. This will support in accomplishing objectives of the research, and along with this, all the research questions can be answered easily.

The inductive approach will be employed where entire research will be carried out from the point view of Australia, and overall findings can be applicable in the case of other countries also. Data analysis will take place with the help of qualitative technique where different themes will be formed by information obtained, and this will lead to in-depth analysis. So, these will be some of the key tools which will be undertaken for conducting the present study.
