Cost estimate - David and Tara King

Excavation:

1/ Remove topsoil and set aside. (Top 100mm)

            Garage Length (m) x Garage Width (m) = 19.5 x 3.28

Total Area x Unit rate = Subtotal cost

             63.96 m2 x $2.56 = $163.74

2/ Detailed excavation for trench footings. (0.3m x 0.4m)

Centreline perimeter x Unit Rate = Subtotal

            44.36m x $19.20 = $851.71

Excavation total = $1015.45

Concrete:

1/ Footing Beam 0.3m x 0.4m.

Area of Footing x Centreline perimeter = Footing beam Volume

0.12x 44.36= 5.32m3

Footing Volume x Unit Rate = Subtotal

5.32 x 234.70 = $1249.36

2/ Slab on ground 10m x 6m.

            Length x Width x Height = Volume

            10 x 6 x 0.625995 = 37.56m3

Volume x Unit Rate = Subtotal

            37.56 x 249.37 = $9366.33

Concrete total = $10615.69

Concrete reinforcement

1/ Reinforcement to Footings

Centreline perimeter x unit rate = Subtotal

            44.36 x 2.36 = $105.26

2/ Reinforcement to Slab

Length x Width x Unit rate = Subtotal

            10 x 6 x $3.86 = $231.6

Concrete reinforcement total =$336.86

Timber framing: (MGP10@ 450mm centres)

1/ Wall framing 2400mm high.

Centreline perimeter x unit rate = subtotal

            45.47m x $ 6.89= $313.29

Timber framing total =$ 313.29

Roofing: (23 degree pitch)

1/ Roof area = Length x (Rafter Length x 2).

            (Hint: Use Cosine Ratio)

Roof Area = 19.5x3.28cos23

Roof Area = 58.88m2

Roof area x unit rate = Subtotal

58.88 x 36.52= $2150

Roofing total =$2150

Window and Door Schedule

1/ Door

820mm x 2040mm x 35mm

Door total =$155.25

2/ Window Awning Aluminium

1200mm x 1200mm

Window total =$255.38

Plasterboard

1/ Interior Walls

Perimeter x Height = Area

            Area= (Int. Perimeter x Height) - (window + door)

                        45.2x 2.4 = 108.4891

            Area = 108.48- 3.11

Area x unit rate = subtotal

            105.37 x 18.31 = $1929.25

Plasterboard total =$1929.25

Ceiling
