Discuss about the Framework For Development Of Advanced Planning And Scheduling.
UNICEF Child Care is governed by a group of people. John Smith is the chairman of the company. The organisations headquarter is located in Sydney. UNICEF Child Care works for the children ranges between six weeks and thirteen. The organisation provides care and support to the children. UNICEF Child Care serves foods to the children. Other than foods, they provide teachers, nannies and other useful services. In this way, they are the ensuring healthy growth of the children. The parents those who want UNICEF Child Care service can avail the service for their children only paying a minimal charge. UNICEF Child Care recently opens subsidiaries across four places in Australia- Rock Hampton, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Melbourne.
UNICEF Child Care has certain objectives-
- To develop a platform where the UNICEF Child Care staff can communicate with the parents of the children throughout day and night 24x7
- To manage the organisation stock across the five centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Rock Hampton and Gold Coast
- To prepare a system such that the stock products can be accumulatedeasily
- To send thank,you reply message to the parents who favour paying fees online
UNICEF requires hiring an IT team. They may also seek assistance from any third party vendor. The IT team will prepare for them a cloud platform and cloud software where UNICEF Child Care will conduct the business activities online. The organisation needs to take up the ERP accounting software. UNICEF Child Care also needs to adopt cloud computing services from the popular cloud vendor services like Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure. The IT team will develop the ERP software and will deploy it on the cloud server. The cloud server will connect the five subsidiaries of UNICEF Child Care. The employees from the five subsidiaries can connect with each other and can perform the business operations altogether. The admin staff can check the stock level of the supplies products. The employee staff can communicate with the parents and can solve their queries.
The IT team are knowledgeable enough to develop the ERP software. The IT Support team will implement the software across the five subsidiaries and will train the employees on the same. The IT Support Team will train the admin staff and the employees. UNICEF Child Care must hire an IT team, they can get constant service and support 24x7, and the IT team will provide long-term benefits.
System Requirements can be divided into two sections- functional requirements and the non-functional requirements.
The functional requirements for UNICEF Child Care are-
- Integrated system installation that will be conductedin real time. The integrated system implementation depends on constant periodic updates
- A common database that can be used by the employee staff of UNICEF Child Care across the five subsidiaries – Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Rock Hampton.
iii. The IT team hired by the UNICEF will install the software and will deploy on the Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS cloud server. The IT team will have to take the responsibility to install antivirus program in the system across the five subsidiaries located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Rock Hampton and Gold Coast. The antivirus program will assure security and safety of the UNICEF Child Care hardware and software resources across the five branches.
Systems Requirements
iv.UNICEF Child Care will have to adapt the ERP software and will have to afford it as ERP can provide the long-term benefits. The IT team who have been given the responsibility to develop the ERP software must develop it according to the timeline and the budget by the project plan.
The non-functional requirements for the ERP software are-
- The ERP accounting software must act in a user-friendlymanner. The IT team will have to develop the software so that the employee staff and the admin staff may find it easy to use.
- The IT team must develop the develop the software in such a way that the software can be restored to its default whenever it gets corrupted. The IT team will have to make sure that the data should not get lost at the time of restoration of the ERP software.
iii. The IT team will have to assure safety and security of the software. They will have to make sure that the data should not get lost in any way.

The project plan defines the timeframe of the project activities in details. The project plan consists of the start date, finish date of every project summary task activities. The Work Breakdown Structure illustrates all the summary task activities along with the project dependencies. The Work Breakdown structure shows the list of the critical path activities.
The project goal is to develop an ERP Software so that it can enhance the project activities of the organisation. The parents will be able to pay the fees online. The ERP software will also manage the stock level of the supplies products.
UNICEF Child Care organisation requires appointing a dedicated IT team. The IT team will design the ERP software, and this software will facilitate them in conducting the business activities. The IT department of UNICEF Child Care will deploy the software on the cloud server.
The scope of the project is to design software that will facilitate the parents to pay fees online. The software will send ‘thank you’ email back to the parents. The parents will be confirmed that the payment is successful. Again, the ERP software will send the yearly statement to the parents. The software will keep track of the stock level of the supplies products in the five branches of UNICEF Child Care. The admin staff can check the inventory level and can order supplies products accordingly.

The consultant finds the three investigation techniques useful- ‘Gathering Information’, ‘Defining System Requirements’, and ‘Prioritise System Requirements’ are considered useful. ‘Gathering Information’ methodology deals with the causes of the development of ERP software. ‘Prioritise System Requirements’ deals with the various usability of the accounting software. ‘Defining System Requirements’ will illustrate all the operations associated with the ERP software.
The project manager through ‘Gathering Information’ method can know the causes behind the installation of ERP. The ERP will help the parents to pay fees online. The software will let the admin staff and the employee staff communicate with each other. They are struggling to manage the stock level of the supplies products. Thus UNICEF Child Care must implement the ERP software in their five branches.
Project Cost/Benefit Analysis
UNICEF Child Care must assign an IT team to design the ERP software for their premises. The ERP software will check and update the stock level of supplies products. In this way, the admin staff can know the supplies products needed for the organisation and can order the products accordingly. The parents will be most benefitted and can be able to pay the fees online. The software will be able to prepare a yearly statement and can transmit it to the parents as well. Thus ‘Defining System Requirements’ let them know about the ERP benefits.
UNICEF requires managing of the stock level of the supplies products. The software will help the employee staff of UNICEF to communicate with each other. This two fall under ‘Prioritise System Requirements’.
Reflections and Conclusions
According to my perception, UNICEF Child Care by taking up the new ERP software can enhance their business activities. According to me, UNICEF by taking up the software can carry out the business activities with full efficiency. I believe the parents will be largely benefitted with this initiation of UNICEF. The organisation can be able to earn more trust. Besides the ERP implementation can prove to be fruitful for the organisation. The employee staffs commit an error while calculating the financial data. They also take a huge lot of time calculating all the data manually. However, the new ERP will evaluate the financial data automatically. They will give output relatively faster and will provide error free results. The software will help the employees to communicate with each other. The ERP software will calculate the stock level of the products as well. Therefore, I believe that the ERP will facilitate UNICEF a lot in coming years.
It can be concluded from the above discourse that the UNICEF Child Care can be largely facilitated by implementing the ERP software. ERP can facilitate the parents, can prove to be fruitful for the employee staff and the admin staff across the five subsidiaries. The inventory stock level can be managed with the help of ERP. The report illustrates all the functionalities and usefulness of the ERP in the report.
