In this assignment, the paper mainly generally reflects on an ethical scenario “Law proposed against uploading violent images on the internet” for analyzing the case form the perspective of various ethical laws which include deontology, virtue, utilitarianism as well as contract.

The paper generally focuses on a case that generally elaborates a law that was proposed by the government for uploading various types of violent images on the internet. The South Australian government demonstrates that posting different types of degrading as well as violent pictures on the internet will be considered as a significant offence (Law proposed against uploading violent images on the internet, 2017).   It is identified by Attroney General that a law has been proposed for this specific type of act which is considered as the first law of its kind in the Australian history. As per the law if an individual post humiliating or degrading images, videos of another individual without their consent then it is identified as a serious offence. The law was proposed after a viral video of a student was uploaded in the internet. The video reflects that a student in the playground of the school violently throws another student on the ground. The government wants to mitigate the issue that mainly arises due to uploading degrading or humiliating images as well as videos on the internet. This type of behavior is quite disturbing as most of the times, violent or humiliating videos as well as photos are uploaded by some other individual without the consent on the person who is involved in the pictures or videos. It mainly creates a huge impact in the life of the victim and therefore the people who are associated with the creation of this type of videos must be subjected to severe penalties including jail sentence (Broad, 2014).  The government provides a proper clarification by stating that if a person is found associated with any of the act that is related with uploading violent images or videos, then that specific person will be penalized severely.  As per Mr. Rau, the government will allow capturing of both images as well as videos for legitimate purpose but if a person is found to be engaged in publishing as well as filming images then the person will be charged.

The theory of virtue assists in underlining the significant feature of a person as one of the key component in the entire procedure of ethical thinking rather depending on different types of rules and regulations (Shafer-Landau, 2014). Appropriate rules and regulation: Proper rules as well as regulation must be proposed by the government for handling these types of challenges.

Uploading degrading or humiliating pictures or videos must be avoided: Humiliating videos as well as pictures must not be uploaded on the internet.

Taking appropriate consent before uploading images of another individual: The humiliating videos or pictures must be uploaded by taking appropriate consent of the people who is involved in the images or videos.

It was concluded from this assignment that the law which is proposed by the government of Australia against uploading violent videos as well as images is quite effective in resolving various types of challenges that occurs due to this type of activities. The law which was proposed also assists in tackling various types of thugs against the individuals who generally filmed assaults and after then update them on the internet.
