A Multi-Cultural Wedding event between (Nigerian woman and Chinese man)
The main aim of this event is to plan and design a multi cultural weeding event between an (Chinese Groom and Nigerian Bride). The name of the groom is Li Jing, a 30 year old Chinese man from Wenzhou while the bride Miss Ayobami Adichie, a 26 year old from southern part of Nigeria and she lives in Paris. They met each other in an official function in Paris about 2 years ago.

The wedding will be held in December i.e. during the winter. Winter weddings are romantic and magical and they are budget friendly. The luxurious and rich textures and colors are perfect for winter season. The garland of greenery helps in the addition of natural texture and this looks good in the half-light winter season when they are paired with the silvery and blue shades of eucalyptus. Moreover, people like to spend more time indoors and a sweeping staircase or a fireplace will enhance the beauty of wedding season. The couple will wear traditional dress and this will enhance the significance of the cultural background of the bride and the groom. The theme of the wedding will be crystal based and it will be sparky all around the wedding hall. Crystal based theme is one splendid idea used in wedding decoration. Moreover, crystals are preferred for their vibrancy and they are deployed in different designs and decorations that are created out of the knack. The colour scheme will be white and blue. The theme was decided bearing in mind the choice of the client.
On the basis of discussion with the client and depending on the number of guest who will attend the wedding, the wedding event will be held in Shangri-La Hotel, London. It is a five-star hotel situated in London. This hotel reflects a warm hospitality of the Asian and French art de vivre. The hotel also has the provision of a billiard room where the guest can enjoy the game with complete fireplace. The reception room of the hotel is perfect for any prestigious wedding and event. Moreover, the wedding hall can accommodate 350 people and the guest can spend a memorable time in the hotel. Shangri-La has a provision of parking 200 cars on-site for the convenience of the guest. The venue was set according to the convenience of the bride and the groom and their family friends who will visit the wedding. The theme of the wedding is designed for a classic wedding with a touch of the Chinese style (Daniels and Loveless 2013).

The picture depicts the venue where the multi-cultural wedding will take place. The reception will take place in this hall. The hall can accommodate 500 people at one time. It is decorated and designed in such a way
Wedding Plan and Theme
It will be decorated with string lights and crystal vases. The lanterns will be of varied shapes and size and it will be an important part of the decoration. The crystal vases will be used for holding various floral twists and thus it will render an exotic look in the entire hall. This decoration is famous for its creativity and exuberance. Moreover, the pathway towards the wedding hall will be decorated with crystal chandeliars of various kinds. This is regarded as a clinched idea and the chandeliars will be used as dangles in the pathway from the entrance to the wedding hall.
The crystal pomaders with candles will help to lit up the area. This pomaders are available in different various shapes and this will try to adorn the beauty of the tree. The string light also portrays spectacular design of the lawn area of the hotel. The trunks of the tree are twisted with various string lights and this will help to embellish the beauty of the lawn. The trees will also be adorned with dangling lanterns of different shapes. There will be some traditional laterns that will be hanged in open glass pots and their will be candles inside them (Sen 2013). This will help to give a pious look to the hotel and it will also help in the decoration of the entire garden area of Shangri-La.
The wedding arrangement for the day with respect to the seating and lighting plan, stage decoration and music must be completed before late night. The wedding ceremony will begin from morning and there will be ample opportunity for the music and the stage design for the main function which will be held from evening. There are scopes to redesign the stage if they are not liked by the client (Morris and Yang 2014). The music rehearsal will also be done prior to two months of the wedding and the client will choose the songs. A major proportion of the budget will be spent in crystal design of the wedding hall. The family of the bride and the groom is willing to spend a huge amount to make the wedding a grand success. It is essential to design the event according to the instruction and specification given by the client. The budget has been set initially at £40,000 and it may vary if they want to incorporate further changes. It is necessary to incorporate an effective plan to make the wedding in an organized way according to the requirement and the budget set by the client. There are various aspects that must be considered in this aspect and it includes the following:
The client must book the venue prior to six months before the wedding. It is necessary to understand the requirement of the client and then suggest them the necessary plan for the wedding. It is also important to take the necessary permission from the management team of the hotel so that the event is organized in a proper way at Shangri-La.
Venue
This plays an important role for the guests who will attend the wedding function. Moreover, as it is winter season of the year and some guests may travel from far off places, it is necessary to conduct the wedding in such a place so that it will be convenient for the people to reach. The weather forecast depicts that there will be no drizzle and thus the wedding will be conducted in a perfect time.
This is one of the main aspects of wedding and it is important to take care of the food and beverage which will be served to 300 guests who will attend the multicultural wedding ceremony. The guest will include 220 adults, 60 elderly people and 20 children and this will cater to all the age groups. Shangri-La Hotel will provide unlimited drinks and the menu is designed in such a way so that it suits every age group. There will be separate food for the adults and some special drinks which will be designed for them. The catering service by Shangri-La will host the cocktail party, lunch, dinner and the other occasions which will be held in the multi-cultural wedding design (Getz and Page 2016).
Permits
The hotel management must also take the approval of the local authorities to conduct the wedding without harming or destroying the environment. The management for the provisions of bins in the hotel must take special care and this will avoid littering and damage to the environment. This will avoid environmental hazard and the programme will be carried out successfully.
Health and safety
There must be special arrangement for first aid which is important during the wedding ceremony. As health and safety plays an important role for the success of the event, it is necessary to pay more attention for the seating and the free movement of the guest. It is also important to check the music system and check that it is not too loud and it will be coveniant for the client to communicate with each other during the event.
In the morning of the wedding day, the groom will visit the bride’s home and he will escort the bride to the wedding ground. The groom will break into the door and there will be different intelligent tests that will be conducted by the brides mate to check the intelligence of the groom.
The groom must be ready to hand out the red pockets to the bride mate, friend or sister of the bride. The newlywed couple will bow down before the elders and the parents of the bride. They will walk out of the stage and meet the relatives and take blessings from them. In the traditional Chinese style, the friends and the brothers of the groom tease the bride and the groom on the wedding night to remove the evil spirits and bring them prosperity, health and happiness in the future. The sedan chair that will be designed for the bride to carry her to the groom’s home with the music and the beatings of the drum. The couple will pass through the red carpet in the hall (Liu et al. 2015).
Theme Design
The stage will be designed in whimsical red color and the bride and the groom will sit in the stage. This will be a memorable moment and it will be unique. As the theme of the wedding is crystal based, the bride and the groom will dance inside a crystal ball. The crowd will dance alongwith the bride and the groom in the red carpet (Huang et al. 2017).
Several food games will be arranged for the guest. If any member wins the game, they will get a free pass to visit the hotel and get a lunch buffet absolutely free.
There will be special arrangement for music where the guest can dance on the stage with the newlywed couple. There will be a DJ and they will play hip hop music in addition to the Chinese songs.

The wedding will be held in winter and the menu is designed according to the preference of the people in cold and chilly nights. There are also some special salads that are designed in the menu and it will be preffered by the guests. The client has instructed to make the food less spicy and to keep the cream low in desserts.
