The research question that was used for the research was that:
What are the Australian best practices or licensing for scaffolding that minimises the disruption to others and still meet safety requirements.
The research objectives used in the research that would address the research question are:
To find out the loss incurred by the company Caledonia, because of the construction of these scaffoldings.
To find out the means through which they can be removed without causing any significant problem for the construction workers.
To find out the manner in which the space and the resources consumed by the construction of the scaffoldings can be used effectively.
A BIM-based construction quality management model and its applications.
Graphical fault tree analysis for fatal falls in the construction industry.
Anthropogenic contribution to global occurrence of heavy-precipitation and high-temperature extremes.
Discrete firefly algorithm for scaffolding construction scheduling.
Automatic design and planning of scaffolding systems using building information modeling.
Experimental and data collection methods for a large-scale smart grid deployment:
The procedure of constructing any building, the employees make scaffoldings to reside inside the process
On the contrary, construction of the structures can cause several issues such as talking up to several adjoining space, littering across the area. . Hence, resolution of the issues has major significance.
Present study deals with providing an overview regarding the progress to date of management issue related to complaints received through Caledonia scaffolding from the residents of locality as well as the use of resources for construction of scaffolding.
The study identifies the progress done regarding the analysis of research objectives and research problem associated with the issue.
Caledonia is one of the scaffolding companies that have constructed regarding holding structure of the company that are being used by the staff of Caledonia to find shelter and space.
The study identifies the progress done regarding the analysis of research objectives and research problem associated with the issue.
Caledonia is one of the scaffolding companies that have constructed regarding holding structure of the company that are being used by the staff of Caledonia to find shelter and space.
Not, these holding spaces have use quit a few of resources of the company which could have been utilized by the company for other financial benefit. These holding have captured a lot of area in the nearby area of the construction site, which has given the company a lot of unwanted attention which if not treated well could land the company into serious trouble. The local people are been furious of the holding area due to many reason such as the concern for the hygiene of the people. It has been seen that there is a lot of littering in the area surrounding the holding land. This has to be resolved, because if the issue is not to be resolved, it might be possible that the resident of that area could go for legal measures against the company as they are breaking certain rules already. Seeing this, the company has moved the holding from that area to avoid any trouble.
There is a high risk involved for the staff that are working for a scaffolding company. There are various processes in a scaffolding company which includes from assembling, and erecting a temporary structure after which it is disassembled. these types of processes does makes for a hazardous job, which is sometime even fatal to some of the staff . The injuries for the staff members is a common occurrence in this business.
Loss Incurred by Construction Company
There should be minimum level of precaution that should be given to the employees of the scaffolding company. There is also a concern for proper management of safety issues in the company. Inclusive research have been done on the proper analysis of the security threats of the scaffolding company in Australia.(Collins et al 2014).
$D BIM tools have been implemented to find out how proper management of safety could be done. There is always a concern for any scaffolding company about waste management. There is a company in UA that have designed a rule an automated scaffolded system. There is also a through analysis on the paper about the general planning and management in the scaffolding industry.
A researcher uses different methodology for conducting his research to get a concrete data that can appropriately analysed the topic of the research(Flick, 2015).
There are different kinds of way the data can be collected to get the desired information about the subject. (Taylor, Bogdan and DeVault 2015.). The importance of selecting an efficient methodology can be started from the face that proper implementation of the methodology can be helpful for the researcher to get to a concrete conclusion.
Data analysis is a very effective way for data collection where the data are divided into two part i.e primary and secondary data. The variable that have to be analyzed are target in this methodology in a very organised way so as to get an accurate result
The source of the data of the primary parts are questions, along with the survey and interview. the source of secondary data is the results of previous such research that have been executed. There should be stress laid that in the final finding of the research, qualitative as well as quantitative methods are to be used for interpretation of data.
The research aims to find out various details through the form of inspection of the primary data that is derived from the interviews and questionnaire that has been given to certain specific member of scaffolding sector.
There are many construction company which admitted that their have been heavy loss of capital because of the scaffolding in the area. The most important being the loss of human resource and the productivity is also affected because of these scaffolding, during their erection and assembling time. There points where matching the description of the secondary data that was being used as a reference in the research.
Removing Scaffolding without Disrupting Workers
There was stress made by the researchers to get to the bottom of the issue that involves the process of disbanding the scaffolding after it has achieved its purpose. It was seen that there are technology that could be used to remove the scaffolding without causing any trouble to the worker but the cost of such technology is high.
Qualitative analysis
The qualitative analysis has been taken place by taking 10 managers of Caledonia and other construction companies in Australia. The questions have been asked regarding resolution of scaffolding problem.
Question 1. What is the major issue found when the loss incurred by the companies in constriction industry?
Manager 1: Lack of safety service is the major issue.
Manager 2: Lack of training is the main issue in our company.
Manager 3: Scaffolding problem becomes a major issue in our organization.
Manger 4: It is important to invest money on research and development
Manager5: Scaffolding is the major issue
Manager 6: Lack of security measures is the major issue
Manager 7: We are facing issue regarding Scaffolding
Manager 8: Scaffolding is the issue that disturbs our work
Manager 9: Not use of latest technology is the issue faced by our company.
Manager 10: Scaffolding is the major issue
Qualitative analysis
Question 2: What is the solution to overcome scaffolding issue?
Manager 1: Proper safety and technology is required.
Manger 2: Effective control be helpful to solve the issue
Manager 3:Proper safety measures is the solution
Manager 4: Measures of psychological effects can solve the issue
Manager 5: Effective planning might be the solution
Manager 6: Codes of practice can be helpful .
Manager 7: use of effective technique can be the solution
Manager 8: It is important to focus on effective training.
Manager 9: Use of security measure can solve the issue.
Manager 10: Proper planning to mitigate the issue is required .
This can be done with the proper utilisation of the public relation department of the construction company and the management, both can ask for the help of the local people for finding such a place which requires a little investment and will also not annoy any local resident. The local’s help is necessary for finding out a solution to this problem as can be seen through properly analysing secondary data collection.
As stated earlier, scaffolding work is prone to many serious accidents, the various reasons for such accident and how could they be prevented should be the motive of further research. The ways that could be use in the scaffolding, that could increase the profit also needs to be discussed in future research along with using various technology in the scaffolding should also be encouraged.
There have been other research as well on the subject of scaffolding in the management community. But, like many other research, they to lack on the serious health risk that scaffold is prone to, the risk as well as about the serious risk of such accident that can cause fatal injuries to worker as well as common people.
The communication with the respondent for the primary data collection was done which included staff member pf the scaffolding company, as well as construction worker of the other company. A total of 50 employees where communicated for the research that was conducted to get the primary data of the scaffolding company.
