Overview of Urtii Duu Art and Techniques
The existence of the current world of art performance is rooted from the ancestors in the back centuries (Kaye, 2013). These arts have however spread to all parts of the world. Due to the similarity in their origin, it is possible to find similar types of performance art among different countries. The work of music performance is not just wake and perform but requires a lot of training to gain the experience vital in producing quality work. The quality of the performance of the art differs according to the experience and the level of knowledge to entertain and pass the information to the audience. Various types of art performance experienced in the current world include the circus art, spoken word, illusion, theatre and musical theatre, opera, dance, puppetry, mime, music, and magic (Morreale, De Angeli, Masu, Rota, & Conci, 2014). However, their performance differs according to the method of presentation. Various components are required to be considered to produce quality work. In this essay, I will focus on the overview of the Urtii Duu art, techniques and the technology encompassed in its performance.
The Urtii Duu is one of the modern performances that was performed in the National Museum of South California on March 27, 2018. The group calls themselves "The Duu traditions and modernity." It is currently one of the known arts with a mixture of both traditional and the modernity performance styles. It was first produced in the year 2015 although it comprises both the old men and women and the young generation. According to Lin, Li, Deng, & Lee (2013), the existence of Urtii Duu is rooted from the ancestors who believed in the revolution of the culture of performance art.
Various art performance materials were used to pass the information to the audience. Its performance was rich in art where both the traditional and the modern's techniques are employed. Moreover, it also involved at large the old people who were more aware of the traditions styles of art performance used during the past days. Few young performers were also engaged in the performance. This work can, therefore, be categorized according to the discussed styles used in performing. However, there were also some identified characteristics of the new media art genres. Some sections in the performance also employed the use of modern styles. The art is a digital art genre where devices such as the computers are used in production and also in performance. In addition to, the video games were also present in the performance.
The Use of Traditional and Modern Performance Styles in Urtii Duu Art
The Urtii Duu was performed with the aim of expressing the relationship between the traditional and the current work of art performance (Rinehart, & Ippolito, 2014). There was a relationship between the traditional and the modern performance according to the way it was presented. It was evidenced that the modern art was derived from the traditional work. Hence the art performance was more of the experience due to the involvement of the old men and women. The information intended to be passed was communicated through different performance styles and the materials used. This was enhanced by performing with both the traditional and the modern techniques. Due to direct observation of the performance and the techniques used to pass the information, its purpose was therefore successfully delivered to the audience.
According to Koelsch (2014), aesthetic quality refers to the pleasing an individual such as the audiences through effective understanding of certain phenomena. The success of the performance showed total evidence of the aesthetic quality applications. One of the aesthetic qualities that were considered in the performance was the philosophical refection of the origin (Böhme, 2013). As mentioned earlier, the performance applications were a mixture of both the traditional and the modernity. For an instant, materials such as the dancing and also the attires were traditionally oriented. This, therefore, proved the aesthetic quality of the philosophical reflection on the origin.
Additionally, the purpose was another aesthetic quality evidenced in the performance. According to Harvie (2013), the performance aimed at showing how the art of performance evolved from the traditional to the modernity. This was also evidenced by the presence of both the old men and also the new generations. Part of its performance used traditional methods of performance while other parts such as the use of modern technology such as computers was a sign of revolution of traditional performance to the modern one.
The performance of the art was made successful by the use of various materials. To ensure the traditional work of art was presented well, the performers used the traditional attires. Moreover, the traditional musical sound tools such as the flute and whistle were used whose sound was different from the modern musical tools such as the piano (Auner, 2013). Additionally, the performance also included the modern materials such as the piano and the technological devices such as the computers.
The digital technology in performance was vital to both the new generation and also the traditional ones. There were some senses associated with the use of new technology in the performance. The senses aimed at understanding the origin of the current performance styles. After the performance, the audiences were able to have the senses on how the traditional art of performance changed slowly by slowly to the modern style of the art performance. The use of digital technology in performance also played a key role in the audience feelings towards the art. Its performance was made more enjoyable and also helped in refreshing mind. I was also in a position to understand how the work of art grew with a change in time. I felt much educated on the history of the origin of the work of art performance. Generally, the performance was quite enjoyable as a result of the use of various music styles to entertain the audience while passing the message.
The Role of Digital Technology in Urtii Duu Art
According to Macnamara, Hambrick, & Oswald (2014), the use of digital technology in performance broadens the thinking capacity of an individual. Having watched the concert, I was able to think about how the future in the field of art performance may look like. The evolution of the traditional styles of performance to the modern style also raised a question on how the future of the art performance might be. With a broader mind, I could, therefore, think of how the exhibitions such as the cinemas went diminishing with the change in time. As the traditional art of performance revolutionized to the modernity, I could wonder why the cinema's shows were diminishing instead of revolutionizing.
The success of the performance on specific work influences various behavior or activities to the audience (Lee, Chen, Li, & Lin, 2015). Having enjoyed the digitalized Urtii Duu performance, I was influenced of becoming a performer by employing both the traditional and the modern performance styles to ensure that the performance does not only aim at passing the information to the audience but also entertaining. I also became more eager to learn more about the origin of different art performance styles by researching different art related articles.
Conclusion:
Summarily, the work of art in performance is rooted from the ancestral styles of performance. Most of the techniques used in traditional performance are also employed today although most of the performers are unable to notice the difference. Without the traditional work, it means that the current world could not be enjoying different styles of performance. The modern performers should, therefore, recognize the work of the ancestral performers. They should ensure any change made is favorable to the audience but not creating enmity or having wrong information. The government should also get involved in controlling the practice to ensure what has been practiced is applicable and beneficial to the society.
