Overall goal of the team is to deliver and online system for stud farm management in least possible expense on time which is capable of meeting requirements of the stakeholders from the system. With my previous experience I am looking forward to utilize my understanding of HTML and Java platform to offer effective development of online system.
- Team members should respect contribution of each other
- They should not discriminate on the basis of designation and nationality.
- They should not procrastinate and must contribute equally.
- Team members are expected to work with honesty
- They are expected to follow the code of integrity
- They are expected to contribute in the project with their highest potential
- Choose the area of impact you have ranked as no 1.
- For that area of impact
- With reference to your project, identify one or two of the following types of value:
- Better - is improving quality important to your client?
- Faster - does your client want to increase efficiency?
- Cheaper - is cutting costs important?
- Do more - does your client want to continue its growth?
For the online Stud Farm project strategy is in rank 1, for their area of impact and with the project reference it is found that two different types of values such as better and faster are considered for this. At the project initiation phase, the business analyst considers certain marketing and managerial strategies. The chosen values for the business strategies are as follows:
Better: The strategies considered for this online booking system is needed to be better than the existing one. With a better strategy the online Stud Farm will be able to grab more consumers from wide geographical location and retain their existing customers.
Faster: The online booking system is expected to be faster than the traditional spreadsheet booking system. With a faster approach they can book for more numbers of consumers with a little time period.
- Develop an appropriate metric - this sets the target and expectation of all the stakeholders. It is important to determine a quantitative target that needs to be expressed as a metric in terms of an increase or decrease of money.
Stakeholders |
Target and expectation |
Project manager |
Target and expectations of the project manager are not that much different from each other. Collectively it can be said that, the target should reach the project expectation. The project manager is expecting to deliver an online booking system to the consumers. |
Government |
The expectation of the government is to retain the consumers and to prevent them to travel outside country for the animal breeding. The business outcome is indirectly related to the governmental tax. |
Suppliers |
In order to develop the online booking system for the Stud Farm they should deal with three suppliers- network supplier, hardware and software suppliers. |
- Determine the timeframe for achieving the MOV - ask yourselves, when do we want to achieve this target metric?
Based on the project background and project details it has been found that the company will need not more than 10 months to successfully accomplish the online booking system. After considering the complexity of the project it is divided into small activities. Individual timeframe is again designed for each of the activity. The planned budget and the actual budget for the project may vary but still overall it is expected that the project will be accomplished in $95,700. - Part Two: (10 Marks)
Scope (minimal 10 items) – 10 Marks - Requirements are gathered and documented
- Design and Development of the online booking system for Stud Farm
- Test and Implementation of the design and outlined prototype
- Reports are implemented after analysing the project details and project requirements
- Support the system through warranty period of 24 months or around 2 years
- The service will be open for the consumers for 24X7 hours
- In case of online booking no third party or mediator are present thus it is absolutely commission free
- It gives secured and good customer service
- The workload from the project team members will be reduced completely
- All the customers will be able to deliver a secured online payment option to the consumers.
No post project maintenance plan is developed for the online Stud Farm management system
The role of the business analyst and how the project will be promoted is out of scope
Project assumption is a set of belief that is assumed to be true for the coming future outcome of the system. Based on the knowledge, experience and available information the project assumptions are designed by the project team members and project manager. It is assumed that the project will get all necessary resources (physical and human) for the successful implementation of the project. The stakeholders will attend all the meetings are motivate the team members so that they can reach the project objectives very easily.
In order to develop the online stud farm management system triple project constraints has been chosen. It is ideate that for successful implementation of the online booking system the total budget that is estimated is $95,700 and the total time within which the project is expected to be completed is 10 months.
The scope management plan developed for the Online Stud Farm include initiation, scope planning, scope definition, scope verification and scope change control. The scope initiation plan deals with product and service description, strategic plan, project selection criteria. 10 different scope statements are considered for this particular project and based on those the project constraints should be developed. The tools and techniques considered for developing the scope of the project are Work Breakdown Structure and corrective actions.
