Each of the employees in an organization does have expectations about having some rewards or benefits based on their efforts and the commitment as well as their performances for a specific task. This employee benefit is one of the most important processes for any kind of small or large size of organization which technically helps the managers or the leaders to keep the employees motivated (Balkin and Werner, 2022). In this way the organizations have a huge success in productivity as well. On the other hand the employee relationship can also be built in a very strong and positive way by keeping all the employees satisfied. This paper will be presenting the impact of employee benefits on employee productivity.
The research aims are helpful in understanding the way and the aspiration to conduct the study in order to gain the desired outcome. The main aim of this particular paper will be to find out the certain employee benefit management or the programs that are having a great impact on the employee and their productivity in an organization.
It is always a bit problematic for the Human resources management organization to find out the right kind of benefit program which shall help the organization in enhancing the productivity of the organization. A poorly designed benefit program can have a negative impact on the process of motivating employees and thus it may affect the ultimate productivity of the organization. Constant implementation and introduction of the employee benefits program for the organization is always a bit problematic as there are always different needs present among the employees.
This entire study is going to highlight certain areas and recommend the right kind of employee benefit program that can have a huge impact on the employee productivity. The results and the conclusion about the study will help the organizations to have a deep knowledge and idea about the best employee benefit practices that shall bring success in the economic growth of the organization, increase the productivity without compromising the quality of it. The importance of the entire study will be therefore highlighting the various kinds of employee benefits and how it can have an impact on the productivity of the employees. It will also study and help in illustrating the treatments an organization should undertake in order to increase employee productivity.
The main purpose of the entire study is to determine the impact of all kinds of employee benefit programs on the performances of the employees which shall help in increasing productivity as well. The followings are the main objectives that are going to be discussed in the research paper:
- To identify the employee benefit programs that is usually offered to the employees.
- To identify the factors of the employee benefits that is motivating the employees to increase their productivity.
- To identify the employee motivation that is having an impact in the employee productivity.
Problem Statement
To achieve the objectives for the success of the research paper, the followings questions has been developed by the researchers:
- How many kinds of employee benefits is there that are offered to the employees?
- What are the factors of the employee benefits to motivate the employees for better productivity rate?
- How does employee motivation have an impact on employee performances?
The main scope of the entire research paper will be very much limited to the employee benefits that are introduced by a particular organization to find out the effect of the same on the employee productivity. The information about the topic will be obtained from the data collected from employees and the data collected from the previous research about the effect of the employee benefits on the employee performances and the productivity of the same.
According to the authors Rop and Mandago, (2019) flexibility is one of the most useful benefits that can be provided to the employee. In any kind of organization, the competition can lag the employee's interest for the operational and harm the productivity of the workplaces. However the employee benefits program and the flexibility helps in boosting up the motivation among the employee and leads to increased productivity. The authors has also describes that it is the right of the employees to receive benefits from the organisations without any discrimination from the management (Jaworski et al., 2018). These benefit programs include health programs, pensions or even awards based on performances which ensures that employees are avoiding the practice of absenteeism and involving themselves more into the operation.
On the other hand, author Spisakova, (2019) stated that employee remuneration or the benefit programs plays a huge role in personnel management where each of the employees are offered with monetary and non monetary rewards as power for their performances. Apart from the basic wages, each employee has their right to get the deserving rewards based on their performances. In the research paper the author has mentioned that the monetary rewards are the main motivation of the employees which helps in increasing the productivity for the organization. These financial rewards are able to increase the establishment of the status or the rank in the organization. However, in recent organizational practices, the non-monetary rewards are also helping the employees to have job satisfaction (Alsuwaidi et al,, 2020). Flexible working hours or the services in the workplaces are helpful to keep the employee satisfied and that successfully reflects on the employee performances.
Author Ramli, (2018) conducted the research on the healthcare industry to understand the job satisfaction of the employees with respect to the compensation and the rewards which are offered to the employees for their performance being in the organization. According to the research, job satisfaction can come with various kinds of variables which help in determining whether the factors can have a positive or a negative impact on the employees. Employee compensation is indeed one of the important factors that help in increasing the motivation for better productivity in the organizational operation. However it is necessary to choose the right kind of compensation program for the employees in order to provide benefits as per the right of the employee (Kadir, AlHosani and Fadillah Ismail, 2019). After composing several opinions the author also stated that there is always a chance that job satisfaction can have good or bad impact on productivity or make progress on the organizational operation.
Value of the Research
The companies must always increase the compensation among the employees and also give what the employees deserve based on their rights. All the companies should be concerned about job satisfaction as it helps in improving the performances among the employees and that encourages good productivity. From appraisals to health care benefits, everything under the employee benefits program is considered as the main key for the ultimate job satisfaction and it has a positive effect on productivity (Kihama, and Wainaina, 2019). Moreover, the compensation of employee benefit programs also helps in reducing the gap between the management and the workers and establishing employee relations that promote collaboration as well (Rinny, Purba and Handiman, 2020). It is their right to receive compensation and benefits based on their performances and their skills apart from their basic salaries. So organizations should improve their employee benefit structure in order to keep the employees studies. Satisfied employees and their group performances can be the utmost solution for the better performances in the organization and increase productivity as well.
The research design refers to the framework which will include all kinds of tools and techniques that are chosen by the researchers (Dannels, 2018). The research design which is chosen for a particular research helps the researchers to use the suitable methods and techniques which will help in obtaining the desired result from the research.
In this particular research, both the qualitative and quantitative research will be followed to understand the effect of employee benefits on the employee productivity in an organization. The qualitative research will comprise all the existing data in the previous researches whereas the quantitative research will comprise all the numerical data to conduct the research. Both the qualitative method and the quantitative research will be helping the researchers to deduct the final unbiased result which will show the level of impact of the employee benefits and how it is affecting the factors: employee productivity, employee satisfaction and their performances.
A research philosophy is a kind of belief which helps in gathering the data, analyzing the same and using it to obtain the result from the research work. There are four different kinds of research philosophies present in the research field which are: interprevitism, realism, positivism and lastly pragmatism (Tamminen and Poucher, 2020).
For this specific research work, the researchers will follow the pragmatism philosophy which will be best fit for the entire research method. With the help of the pragmatism philosophy, the researchers can fully focus on the research questions such as the effect of employee benefits, types of the employee benefits present or the factors that are motivating the employees for productivity.
Research Objectives
The research approach typically determines the right kind of plan as well as the procedure that helps on the assumptions for the results or the detailed method for the collected data (Opie, 2019). These approaches are basically useful for the data collection and data analysis for the research work. There are three approaches present in the research work which are: inductive, deductive and abduction.
For this particular research the deductive approaches will be followed in order to undertake all the methods in the research work. The deductive approach can be helpful for the researchers to make a conclusive result based on which several recommendations can be made at the end of the research.
A research strategy is the overall planning for the research which helps in conducting the study. Determining the right kind of research strategy can be useful in planning, executing, and monitoring the entire study (Bell, 2020). To conduct the research about the effect on employee benefit on the employee performances, the research will also follow a strategy. There are four types of research strategies present in the research field such as: case study, qualitative interviews, quantitative survey and action oriented research. For this specific research two of the research strategies: case study and survey will be followed for the research work. The case studies will be helpful to go through the previous research works in order to understand the impact of employee benefit on the employee performances and the productivity. As for the survey, it will help in collecting the raw data from the workforce in order to obtain the final result.
The research choices are to provide information about the data collection which will be responsible for the research data analysis to obtain the final result. All the data is collected from the authentic sources. The primary and secondary data analysis method is conducted in order to obtain the result about the effect of employee benefit on the employee performances and the productivity.
This time horizon helps in defining the entire time frame for the research process. It is required to follow a particular set of time to conduct and complete the research. There are two types of the time horizons that are followed by the researchers which are: longitudinal and cross sectional.
For this particular research, the longitudinal time horizon will be followed as it will take five months to finish the entire research work. A Gantt chart will be presented to deliver the timeline of entire research work step by step.
Research Questions
For the quantitative analysis, 100 employees will be chosen to conduct the survey about the effect of employee benefits and the relevant factors. The employees will be chosen from every single layer of the organization to understand the effectiveness of the employee benefits and their improvements in performances.
As for the qualitative analysis, previous research works, journals and articles will be chosen where the researchers have talked about the impact of the employee benefits on the employee performances, their productivity and the motivation behind it. Paper will be collected from the year 2018 to present year and the secondary data analysis and paper review. To conduct the survey, 10 companies will be randomly selected from the informational technology industry, from where 100 employees will be selected at random to collect the raw data. A Google form will be distributed to the 100 companies for the employees to fill up the survey questions. The questionnaire form will be consisting of 15 questions and the responses will be collected as the raw data for the entire quantitive data analysis process.
Every research requires having the right kind of method which helps in proceeding accordingly for the betterment in achieving results. There are two types of research method present in the methodology process which are: mono method and mixed method (Sahin and Öztürk, 2019). The application of mono method helps working with only one type of analysis, either qualitative or quantitative analysis. On the other hand, the mixed method helps in performing both the analysis.
In the specific research, the mixed method will be used where the researchers will be performing both the qualitative and quantitative analysis in order to perform the entire research. SPSS tool will be used to conduct for the entire data analysis purpose of the research work. This SPSS or Statistical package for the social sciences tool helps researchers to conduct complex statistical data analysis process. The raw data from the survey will be analysed by the help of SPSS which will help with the statistical data to make a conclusion about the topic.
Conclusion
The chosen research design, research methodology and the analysis process would be helpful in finding out the effect of the employee benefits that motivates the employees for the increase in productivity. The chosen factors will be helpful in analyzing the previous research works as well to determine the intensity of the effect through time.
Research Scope
Every single research needs to follow several guidelines and rules which help the researchers to keep the transparency of the research while conducting the research in an ethical way. For the specific research the followings will be observed which will be beneficial for the research:”
1. Honesty: For this particular research, none of the data which are collected from journals or surveys will be fabricated to present the result (Armond et al., 2021). This same will be followed for the methods and procedures which will be followed for the research.
- Carefulness: this particular research will comprise the raw survey data. The researchers will be avoiding all kinds of careless errors that may hamper the data.
- Openness: all the data from the research work, tools, techniques, resources a dnt he results will be shared to everyone in order to let them criticize on the same and use the same in future research purposes including new ideas into it (Celik, 2017).
- Consent: the researchers will strictly follow the rules about asking consent for the survey purposes. Not a single individual will be harmed while conducting the survey. For the human subjects, the risks or harm will be minimized and benefits will be maximized (Armond et al., 2021). On the other hand, showing respect, maintaining privacy about the personal data and dignity will be maintained.
- Legality: the research will be following all the government rules and regulations, institutional laws which are necessary for the research.
Conclusion
In each type of organization, there is always a huge need to provide benefits and compensation to the employees. It is one of the basic steps for the managers or the organization to keep the employees motivated. Many of the researchers have mentioned in their research about the relationship between employee motivation and employee productivity. It is true that employees with positive motivation can always help the organization with greater performances. One of the key ways to keep the employees can be employee benefits. From paying for the medical bills to rewarding them for their performances, everything can be considered as the employee benefits which are one of the basic rights of the employees.
This research proposal has been constructed which will be helping in understanding the types of benefits that are present in the employee benefits and the compensation program in the organization. The primary and secondary data will be useful to understand the case studies and the effectiveness of the same. The research will be conducted by maintaining all the research ethics and by following all the methods as well as the philosophies for the betterment in obtaining results of the research.
