6. What is the project rationale? The project is about strategic decision-making for increasing sustainability for clean energy development. The project will determine how technological solutions could be used for clean energy development in UAE to increase sustainability. Promotion of technologies of low carbon energy for palliating anthropogenic effects within climate is central tasks for the government of UAE that is considered to be most effective path for assuring efficient, sustainable, and reliable future energy system (Krysiak and Kluczek 2021). Although, non-technological issues, along with interconnections affecting the deployment hinder success of such promotion. Problems faced by the energy systems are quick depletion of the fossil resources, emissions of greenhouse gas, air pollution, and nuclear risks. This project analyses the risk with the help of several scenarios within concentrated solar investments within UAE. The government is looking for sustainable solution around the country through the development of energy policy along with stakeholders’ engagement for a clear energy development at broader level in a long run (Sisodia et al. 2020). Development of technology of solar energy within UAE shows positive influence upon development of CSE technology. The private players also are free in investing in energy sector. Major supportive policy is the private-public partnership agreement along with government surety upon electricity selling and buying. State government has the monopoly power within transmission as well as distribution of electricity. Successful development of the CSP technology within several regions is also dictated by the regulatory policies, institutional framework along with government willingness (Siksnelyte et al. 2018). Hence, this proposal improved manufacturing potential as well as industrial environment with the higher investment shares within economy. Development of technology of CSE has shown some positive growth within these regions. Potential in growing the technology is the immediate requirement along with low-cost technology in shifting to the green energy from coal. This project will analyse the potential that could be seen in a fact that all initial years of development of the CSE technology take about 10 to 20 years with the incentive policy (Kaya, Colak and Terzi 2019). The generation of renewable energy is competitive usually. As the investment’s cost is high as well as given that the projects of renewable energy are irreversible, the major criterion for investors in investing within renewable projects is support of the government through the regulatory schemes. Hence, this project would conduct feasibility study through the scenarios under the uncertainty for evaluating as well as understanding the risk of the investors (Kokkinos and Karayannis 2020). In this project, several methods would be discussed for gaining attention of the researchers within business valuation as well as decision-making. |

7. A brief review of relevant literature Continuously increasing demand of energy along with environmental issues have motivated the researchers along with policymakers to work for improving non-fossil fuel economies. High focus is on generation of solar energy along with current interest is upon technologies of high efficiency to generate cleaner energy (ANJAM et al. 2020). The concentrated solar energy (CSE) is developed also to harness solar power. Such technology uses the technologically improved mirrors for concentrating solar radiation along with convert this into energy. Energy development with the use of concentrated solar power (CSP) also is adapted at the global level (Krysiak and Kluczek 2021). This is measured with desert areas’ expansion in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The import of energy from this project reduces burden of fuel as well as coal imports, along with reduces the greenhouse emissions eventually (Qudrat-Ullah and Kayal 2019). This potential could be mapped with the high spatial resolution. Given geographical condition of UAE, this country receives enough solar radiation to generate electricity. Electricity could be locally consumed by the households and industries (Sisodia et al. 2020). In addition, UAE shares the border with Saudi Arabia and Oman, excess electricity generated could be supplied also to those countries. Hence, geographical advantage of this country could host the investors willing to make investment in energy business (Salim and Alsyouf 2020). Policy endeavour could reduce carbon footprint of this country along with contribute to sustainable objectives of this country. The energy industry of UAE has dramatically changed over past decade. This country is first in moving forward towards diversification of energy along with deliver affordable and clean energy. Renewables play an important role within global efforts for protecting natural resources along with diversifying energy mix (Siksnelyte et al. 2018). UAE began in devising few plans recently to conserve natural resources along with expand energy mix for alternative sources that includes renewables. Such strategies aim in delivering affordable and clean energy for decreasing emissions of carbon, maximize production of energy, and achieve diversification of energy. Sustainability’s measurement is used actively as a major preventive instrument for reducing decline of environment. Sustainable decision-making to solve energy issues could be supported as well as contradictory effects could be evaluated with the scientific achievements of the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques (Lucas Porta et al. 2021). Development of sustainable energy is a major subject of discussion within scientific, governmental, and non-governmental level, being primary focus upon international and national social, economic and environmental agendas (Kaya, Colak and Terzi 2019). The sector of sustainable energy has balance of the energy consumption and production for the country for increasing productivity of economic as well as social activities. This is the dynamic patten of environmental, technological, economic, and social indicators along with policies that allow this country in moving towards better wellbeing. In past few years, urgent necessity along with tremendous opportunity for accelerating transition to low-carbon competitive economy which resulted as to be growth of the targets of long-term for all energy efficiency and renewable energy (Al Naqbi, Tsai and Mezher 2019). However, still there is need to increase global awareness as well as enabling policies, for strengthening citizen role within energy systems, facilitating proactive participation as the purchasers and investors for renewable energy (Kokkinos and Karayannis 2020). Promotion of technologies of low carbon energy for palliating anthropogenic effects within climate is major task for the government. |

Both qualitative as well as quantitative research methods would be used for this research. Qualitative research would be used for understanding the concepts, experiences and thoughts. Such kind of research method would enable in gathering all in-depth insights about this research topic. Qualitative research method would include interview with the open-ended questions, literature reviews which explore the theories as well as concepts, and observations that are described in the words. However, quantitative research strategy would be used for establishing generalizable facts about this research topic. This research strategy would include surveys with the closed-ended questions, experiments, and observations that are recorded as the numbers. This would help to give a clear idea about all the data collected from these methods. Both these research methods would use different types of research methods for collecting as well as analysing data, along with these methods would allow in answering the research questions (Queirós, Faria and Almeida 2017). For addressing the research questions, several participants would be interviewed and crucial data would be collected for them for analysis. Also, data that are published already would be collected from the online sources, such as web, articles and journals. However, the reliability of the online sources would be checked before collecting crucial data for this research. As original version of questionnaire would be English, this research would use back-translation method for converting items into the Arabic language. For the purpose of review, questionnaire would be consulted with few professors who are actually expert in this Arabic language as well as changes would be made accordingly. This research would also conduct pilot test for ensuring reliability as well as validity of the scale. Online survey would be designed for catering to the participants of Schneider Electric. The questionnaire would be designed with several relevant as well as crucial question to ensure most appropriate analysis can be made for getting appropriate along with accurate results. This questionnaire of the purpose of survey would be sent to different participants through emails (Queirós, Faria and Almeida 2017). Also, interview would be conducted with staff members of Schneider Electric to conduct this research successfully. At interview, invitation letter would be produced and the consent form would be accepted as well as endorsed. Every pertinent data which would be conveyed during the interview would be noted along with documented. The stag would be required for avoiding element of bias on behalf of interpretation of the responses of the interviewer provided.
