Using Flow Charts as a Project Management Tool

The flow chart is a very important tool that is used for the project management technique. The flow chart provides the flow of the processes that can take place during a project. The flow chart provides the different procedures that are to be conducted in a project and also they display the steps that are required to complete the procedures and also the flow chart shows the direction of the flow of the process.  In addition to this, the flow chart makes use of different type of designs for display on the different types of processes. Hence it is very easy to differentiate in between the different steps that are to be taken during the implementation of the project. Additionally, the project management technique makes use of the different type flow to the data and direction of the data is also provided in the flow chart and hence, the users would be able to understand the directions in which the data would be flowing and also the storage of the data is efficiently stored in the flow chart.   Hence, the flow chart is a very important tool that can be very helpful for the project management technique.

The project parameters are very important for the development of a project. The main parameters of a project are the budget allocated for the project, the human resource required for the project and the timeline of the project. These are very important for the delivery of the project according to the required outline mentioned for the completion of the project. The budget of a particular project is very important. The project is required to be completed within the required budget. The human resource also a big factor on which the implementation of the project is dependent on. A good management of the human resources of the organisation would result in an efficient project management technique implementation. The timeline is also a major factor for the completion of project. The project is to be delivered on time and the efficiency of the project would depend on the delivery of the project.

The risk is generally a threat to the project for which the project can be a failure. The factors on which the efficiency of the project depends on can also be a risk factor for the project. Additionally there can also be various types of risks that can arise for the organisation due to the implementation of the project. Hence, the organisations are required to perform efficient risk assessment techniques so that they can detect the risks that are involved with the project very easily and can act according to it. This would also help the organisation to overcome the obstacles that are related with completion of the project. The risk assessment procedure involves the techniques of identification of the risks and the identification of the possible solution for the mitigation of the risks that are involved with the projects. Hence, the risk assessment is one f the most important procedures that are to be conducted regarding the completion of the project.

The vision is basically an imaginary picture of the company in the future. This is used by the organisation to define their objectives and aim. This would help the company to define or picture the situation they want to be in the recent future. They would be able to picture the situation and work for bringing the picture to reality. This would help the company to make the strategic planning for the development of the company. The company and the staffs would be able to mark their destination and hence, this would result in the overall development of the company.

The Mission is fundamentally an aim of the organisation in future that they wish to achieve. This is utilized by the company to characterize their targets and point. This would help the organisation to characterize or picture the circumstance they need to be in the current future. This would help the organisation or getting ready for the improvement of the organisation. They would have the capacity to picture the circumstance and work for bringing their vision into reality and that would be the mission of the company. The organisation and the staffs would have the capacity to check their goal and henceforth, this would bring about the general improvement of the organisation.

For the closure phase of the project there are a number of methods that requires efficient implementation for the successful completion of the phase. The project manager or the higher authority that is responsible for the project would be able to perform the task of closure if he performs the following process successfully:

The project manager is required to ensure that all the deliverables that are required for the project are successfully delivered to the clients. In addition to this if any kind of resources are hired for the completion of the project then they are to be returned successfully to their rightful owners and also the extra staffs that were required the for the project are to successfully paid off and the project is to be signed off. This would ensure a successful closure for the project.

The Health and Safety legislations provide in Australia aims to prevent injury and disease of the persons in the workplace. The main aim of the legislation is to keep the workers safe in their workplace. They aim to perform these tasks by prevention of the injury to the workers and the minimize the chances of the workers being affected by diseases by detecting the risks that are involved with the workplace and try to minimize them by taking up protective measures.

The examples of implementation of the WHS legislations are:

Ensuring that the environment for the worker is safe

Ensuring that the equipments that are used by the workers are safe

The company should also have a safety policy in place for the workers.

The company should also have some compensation systems in place for the employees that are hurt in the premises of the company.

The legislation should also ensure that the employees are well trained for the maintaining the safety policies of the company.

The project that is considered for this assessment is the implementation of a interactive and content rich website that would help the students to plan their future by using the neuroscience concepts and also they would be able to Time Traveller system for the students so that they would be able to see their future and also they would be able to plan their progress and also their academics and their career accordingly. The company that is trying to implement this project is the Kids at Hope organisation that would be helping the kids and youths in serving them to provide ideas and also work for the enhancement of the future of the students.

The different stakeholders that would be involved with the project are the CEO of the company, the kids and the society for which the organisation is trying to work and also the people that are working for the project.

The other stakeholders that are related to the project are the domain providers for the website, the analyst that would be able to analyse the contents of the website and also the students who would be guided by the website and also the staffs that would be responsible for the implementation of the website.

I would be acting as the project manager and hence my role would be to be associated with the project. I would be responsible for the implementation of the website primarily but the other roles that I have to perform are to arrange the proposal for the project. Deliver the plan to the higher official of the company, and also make them realize the utility of the project.

The organisational objective is to enhance the knowledge of the students and also help them in choosing their career paths and help them in their future studies and also guide them in their opted career paths. The website would be able to perform the entire task that the organisation desires and hence, this website is the best solution for the organisation to achieve their organisational objectives.

 The project is related to website development and hence, the resources that would be required are basically the requirements that would be few machines foe the implementation of the website. In addition to this some software would be required that would help in the development of the website. In addition to this some additional patches that are available can also be used for adding functionality to the website.

For the planning of the project the organisation would require to assemble a group of web developers that would have different type of specialties in web development such as front end, back end and database for the website. In addition to this, there is a requirement of brainstorming session that would help in the planning phase of the project.  This would help the developers to come up with a plan for the project like the language in which the website is to be developed and the suitable database is to be selected for the development of the project.

For checking and analyzing the outcome for the project and also for the monitoring of the system it is to be seen that if the website is user friendly or not. The interface of the system is to be evaluated and also it is to be checked that if the website is responsive or not. In addition to this, the maintenance of the website is also to scheduled so the regularly the bugs that are generated in the website can be easily eliminated.

For ensuring the project timeline is met on time the planning phase of the project in this case needs to be very efficient and realistic and hence, this would enable the project to be implemented on time and also maintain the timeline of the project.

The project management tools such as the flow chart and the gnat charts would be used for the benefits of the project. In addition to this, the ER diagrams and the DFD can be used for the development of the website.

The front end task would be delegated to the front end developers, the back end task would be delegated to the back end developers and also the database administrations would be delegated to the people who are experts in database.

The budget would be used prepared according to the requirement of the project and hence, the budget is to be allocated according to the requirement of the project and during the implementation of the project it is to be seen that the budget is not exceeded and the project is to be completed within the allocated budget.  

The data is collected by interviewing the students and the teachers about the content of the website, the data would be collected in a spreadsheet.

The NSW legislation would be used for the compliance with the website that is to be created.
