Trip Reports

For recording and delivering information various type of reports are been used. These could be private companies, research agencies, government departments and any other kind of information. Every organisation frames reports in their own manner and set regulations. The natures of reports are mostly formal (Kamath, n.d.). The distinct types of reports are- trip reports, regulatory reports, progress reports, feasibility reports and scientific reports. The brief discussions of these reports are as follows:

Trip report involves all those activities that took place outside the workplace or organisation. For instance: - any business meet happening at the place other than the original one, certain trip outside the town for the purpose of business expansion and many more. These reports are constructed for presenting the information to the government and private bodies to fulfil the requirements. The main motive of these reports is for the public security and safety. These reports follow the set format which involves the statement of objective, the nature of problem quoted, authentic comments over the problems and finding out the implications of the problems (O’Mara, 2015).

The progress reports are time based and periodic reports. These are submitted within the set interval of time. The main purpose of report is to understand the progress and changes taking place during the work (Cambridge dictionary, 2017). It is constructed for monitoring the status of the undergoing project. Such reports have to be informative and descriptive in nature to show the positive and negative aspects of the action. Through these reports management makes the decision as to what strategy to adopt for meeting the goals, discussing about the budget whether it is sufficient to fulfil the objective and to note down that activity to perform are aligned properly and running as per the schedule. Afterwards the conclusion is drawn with the overview of the work to be undertaken and accomplish in the coming period of time (E-education, 2014).

Feasibility report is of explanatory nature and things are needed to be described thoroughly. It is based upon cost, schedule and physical feasibility (Mukund, 2012). Such reports are bifurcated into two sections: descriptive section and evaluative section. The descriptive section encloses reviews of the text performed in order to determine the easiness or feasibility to perform it. Evaluative section deals with the conclusions and advocation of the entire work performed by the individual. While constructing the feasibility report some common rules are there which need to be kept in mind. The report must be conclusive and cultivating. Alternatives for solving the problem should be marked out and this is to be noticed that the options given are authentic and believable (Reference, 2017).

Regulatory Reports

Scientific reports involves the research and report making. It could be a challenging task for the beginners but there is lot to learn from such reports. There is a set format for constructing the scientific report following which results in easy working for the researcher that needs to study a lot about the new factors and bring out findings related to the scientific study. Scientific reports are of two types: lab reports and formal reports. Lab reports are internal reports which involve the intrinsic documentation to compile it in formal report. Formal reports are final scientific reports consisting of various findings and suggestions by the researcher. The elements inculcated while raising a report are: inclusion of title page, abstract, table of content, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, recommendations, acknowledgement, bibliography, appendixes and distribution list (Monash, 2017).

The trip report discussed here is about PARBICA conference that was conducted on 21 August-3 September 2011in Samoa. The objective of this trip was to be a representative in  Pacific Manuscript Bureau at the Pacific Regional Branch of the International Council of Archives (PARBICA) conference and to gain the opportunity to start with the copying jobs as the student theses at Piula Theological college, Malua Theological college, Alafua campus library and many more.

Progress Reports

The progress report argues over the completion of work, it is divided in weekly, monthly and yearly progress report. The example to be quoted is regarding the construction management. The report is from Los Angeles Mission College which describe the completion of various construction projects undertaken. The objective of distinct constructions projects are:

There are many more such constructions taking place in Los Angeles Mission College whose entire objective is the growth of campus and its development. The conclusion drawn from these progress reports are:

The effective and efficient workforce to be appointed at the time of construction so as to avoid delays and timely completion of work.

For building the supreme quality constructions there is the necessity of upgraded resources which is to be provided to the workers to carry out effective working.

There are cases where default in the technology has resulted in breakdowns and stoppages for a longer period this activity need to be watched out and measures to resolve these discrepancies should be resolved at the earliest. It is also advisable to opt for the advanced and better technology like implementing the smart classes and teaching to be accomplished using various practical methods which are easy to understand for the students resulting in growth of institute along with the staff and students (Images, 2011).
