Improving the knowledge of PEOPLE or the employees

Human resource department has a major role to play in the overall functioning of the organization. They have to realize the current needs and demands of the employees and take the necessary steps. They have to make sure that the employees are getting a good, employee friendly environment that will help them to stay motivated. This report has mainly dealt with the steps that can be taken by the HR manager of the ABC Company.  As the HR manager, I feel that it is my prior duty to work for the welfare of the company and particularly the employees (people).

I will make sure that as their HR manager, I am always being very friendly and approachable for all the employees. I will never differentiate between the old and fresh employees in terms of maintaining the company rules and regulations. However, I will surely give enough time for the freshers to cope up with the new environment that they will be facing. As ABC Company is a cloth manufacturing industry, it is an evident fact that there can be several factors affecting the success of the company. Some of the factors that can affect the company are technological advancements, improvement in the resources of the competing firms, entry of new firms, new expertise in the make and other such factors.

As the HR manager, I will try to communicate with all the employees so that they can talk about their queries or any kinds of doubts. I will also conduct meetings on a regular basis so that the employees can get proper opportunities for communication. I will also turn these meetings into the learning experiences. There will be both sided communication and I will try my best to solve all the doubts of the employees.

HR managers can help in developing the strategic skills of the managers and also the employees who have good leadership abilities. This can be done by enabling them to make decisions regarding important matters, providing them with moral support, peer to peer support and also the required training and development process.

In order to make sure that they are being able to recruit and maintain the young workforce of team organization, HR managers have to give them an employee friendly environment. They will have to pay them as per the ongoing pay scale wages in the market. Young employees will be ambitious and will require the most innovative and upgraded technologies for working and delivering their best.

In order to manage the aging workforce Hr managers have to do an in-depth research and analysis so that they can provide proper training sessions for the older workers. Apart from this, they have to strengthen the pension structure so that the older employees can enjoy a financial security. HR managers have to train the rest of the employees so that they do not get influenced by any age discrimination. The aging workforce might be a challenge but at the same time, it has to be dealt with patience and proper expertise.

Leadership capability

Equity and diversity can be maintained by making sure that the entire employee is getting equal opportunities irrespective of their social, cultural or economic status. The HR manager has to make sure that there is a diversity being initiated within the work culture. This can be done by recruiting employees from different cultures and ethnicity. They have to make sure that the employees are getting a flexible shift, a freedom of work, a friendly approach from their seniors and also a fair reward and appraisal system. This will help the company to enjoy the status of the employer of choice. There are some policies and acts that must be initiated by the HR department within the company.

Recruiting new employees and setting the right criteria for the selection of the employees is not the only thing that needs to be done by the HR managers.

ABC Company is a cloth manufacturing industry has to make sure that they are staying aware about the changing trends in the economic condition, taste, and preferences of the customers, entry new firms and also many other such problems. For an instance, it can happen that they are launching a set of sleeveless gowns and one of their competitive firms launches a brand new range of full sleeve gown with the trending design and material. This might instantly make a shift in taste or the existing demands of the customers.

In the future, ABC Company will need more skilled workers. They have to recruit a very skilled R&D team that will help them in getting to know about the ongoing trends in the labor market.HR managers will also have to keep a proper contact with the executive recruitment firms, employment agencies, trade unions, social media job portals, advertisement, and other such sources.

Consultation and negotiation are one of the best methods for carrying on consultation with the senior managers. The communication process must be carried on in a systematic manner. The hierarchy has to be maintained while conveying the message. There can be several problems in the entire process of consultation. In such cases, the HR managers have to use the method of agreement. They will have to agree to the decisions being taken by the senior managers and also ensure that the issue is being addressed.

Social media tech apps like Facebook is one of the most trending apps that can support the HR department of the ABC Company. This will help them to recruit new and innovative employees from places like LikedIn, Facebook. This will also enable the company to reach their HR targets of employee recruitment.

I order to get the approval from the senior management; HR department must follow a proper method like crafting the ideas and making a pitch. This will help in gathering all the points regarding the problem. In the second part, the HR managers will have to channelize that information properly through the right sources. This will help messages to be taken to the notice of the managers and they will be able to answer it properly.

Youth and aged employment

aging workforce planning must be done in such a way that there is no discrimination between the young and the older generation working within the organization. Proper training must be given so that the older generation of people does not face any problem for survival. They must be given a free and uninterrupted flow of income.  

EEO Target groups Anti-discrimination act must be used in this case so that people from all the different ethnic groups can be treated equally and given equal opportunities. The monetary benefits, appraisals must be done on the basis of the merit and the performance and not based on the ethnic or religious backgrounds of people.

It is the duty of the ABC Company to realize that employee retention must be their major goal. It is their basic duty to make sure that they are being able to keep their existing employees happy. The already existing employees of the organization are the valuable assets and they are already well trained. It is for this reason that the old employees will also very helpful while training the younger and the freshly recruited employees. The workforce has to be trained properly by giving them constant support. The HR department must be providing them proper moral support, peer to peer help and all the required amount of training. Hr managers have to show the employees that they are the valuable assets of the organization and they are allowed to take part in the vital decision-making process of the organization as well

Special training classes must be arranged for the employees being recruited from the EEO groups. There must be proper laws made by the HR department so that the EEO group employees do not fall prey to any sorts of bullying by the rest of the employees.

I would manage the performances by conducting meetings on a weekly basis. This will help me to understand the progress and also the issues that are being faced by the employees of the organization. In order to know the way in which the work is progressing, I also use the email and survey methods. This helps the employees to talk about their queries, feedbacks and any ideas through this non-verbal form of communication. In order to manage the risks, I will always keep a fund ready so that any unforeseen expenditure can be met properly. This will help the organization to have a capital fund ready for meeting with any urgency that might appear in future.

Thus, it can be concluded that the HR department has a key role to play for the overall success of the organization. Some of the essential roles of the Hr department include recruiting new employees and setting the right criteria for the selection of the employees is not the only thing that needs to be done by the HR managers. There are many other functions that have to be taken care of by the HR managers. One of the essential duties of the HR managers is to see the current areas where the existing employees are lagging behind. They have to arrange for the necessary training and make sure that they are setting a set of proper policies for improving the current situation.
