Purpose of the Project

The case study highlights the work or community based reflective case study for raising the gif-aid fund for the UK people. The association of few students made this initiative possible for the people who need it . The major focus of the project is to present the market research of UK dancing clubs, which are contributing to the development of the charity program and community development. Almost 30 dancing clubs took the participation in this initiative for the gift aid purposes and undertaking the charity part. We are associated with this purpose for making the adequate market research and gathering the necessary information for carrying out the project (Savery 2015). Each of the team members will provide the necessary information that is necessary for us to complete the project. In this project, I am going to present the analysis of the contributions of the dancing clubs towards societal welfare. I shall pay the closer attention towards the result and performance outcome to suggest the preferable recommendations for the future benefits. I found that everyone was quite dedicated to present their skills and using those skills in undertaking the effective market research. I think this dedication is the major strength of the group. On the other hand, it has been noted that many of the group members faced nervousness during the presentation of the project. The lack of proper communication transparency was the major weakness of the people involved in this project. The further study will ensure the necessary implication to eliminate the weaknesses.

The project is based on the Gift Aid fundraising purpose that is developed to collect donations. These donations are collected for the community programs and charities where a minimal amount is invested for the needy people in the community. It is equivalent to the measurement of the companies that is considered as the means of reducing the tax amount. The aim of this project is to support the people who need the charity and provide the adequate help to the Community Amateur Sports Club. The research is undertaken for conducting the market analysis of the dancing clubs. It is even necessary to recognize the organisations, which provide the student memberships and offering the required help. The research objective is to assess the viability of the market potentiality. The team members will identify the complete market size and select the sample. The relevant approaches are undertaken for the completion of the entire project. The project is completed in 6 weeks time. The different stages are also maintained.

  • The stage one was scheduled for preparing the project draft
  • In the stage two, the market analysis was presented.
  • The associated team members prepared the survey questionnaire for the project
  • The results were analyzed in the stage four.
  • The stage five was scheduled for presenting the data and the strategy.

Contribution Analysis

The contribution of each of the members was much helpful for completing the project successfully.

I am working as one of the project team members in this project. I am dedicated to work on one or more phases of this project life. It is necessary for me to contribute to the overall project objectives. The major objective of this project is to collect the gift fund aid for the people in UK. Therefore, it is my responsibility to gather the sufficient market research essential for the completion of this project. I need to complete the individual deliverable that is structured at the initial stage of the project process. It is important for me to schedule the deliverable with proper time constraints (Shemla et al. 2016). Accordingly, I ought to maintain each of the responsibility that I am assigned to in this project. On the other hand, it is essential to provide the necessary expertise that can be helpful enough in fulfilling the project mission. The expertise advise will be involved to lead the project in the right direction. As a project team member, I even need to work with the other group members in a cohesive way to meet the needs at the end. One of my major duties in this project is to document the process. Reviewing this documentation, the team members will be able to understand the progress and the essential steps to complete the entire project and fulfill the purpose.

In order to critically analyze my contribution in the project, I need to concentrate on the project activities and my performance parameter. Contribution analysis is generally quite useful for the non-experimental program (Costa, Passos and Bakker 2014). Firstly, I keep the right attribute to listen and understand the purpose of the project and necessity of gathering the proper market research. I am much communicative and curious about the necessary information. Whenever, I needed to get any information, I tried to speak with my team mates and gather ideas to collect the relevant information about it. I structured the deliverable and prepared the schedule to perform my responsibilities towards this project. I focused on the stages associated with the project purpose. While drafting the project, I concentrated on the necessary information to collect for maintaining the required flow. I took the active participation in analyzing the information obtained from the market research. I even helped my team members to structure the questionnaire for the surveying the sample population. I used the proper approach in analyzing the results and strategies to make it better. My strength is my efficient analytical skills and the proper communication proficiency. I am quite transparent in communicating with the team members. However, I feel nervous at the same time due to lack of confidence. I lack the confidence level to present my ideas in this project that could help in scheduling the deliverable. However, I have provided my best effort to lead this project work towards successful completion.

Interpersonal Skills Development

During the entire project, the responsibilities were distributed to the individual members in the team. Everyone in the group has provided their analytical power and thinking capability to carry out this project.  I maintain a proper interpersonal skill with the other group members to perform my responsibility in a cohesive way. I am quite friendly and communicative as a person. Therefore, I could easily interact with the other teammate if I needed any suggestions or information. The frequent communication and greater interpersonal skills helped me in knowing the project specifications in a significant way (Costa, Passos and Bakker 2014). I needed to maintain the proper interpersonal relationship and understanding while communicating with the other members in the team. Each of the members in the team needed to gather the adequate idea about the nature of the dancing clubs before undertaking this project activity. The maintenance of the higher level of confidentiality was necessary for a group project (McDonald et al. 2015). The supports and help I have received from my teammates were much helpful for me in strengthening my analytical power and retaining the effective interpersonal skills.

While undertaking a group project, it is essential to understand the proper utilization of the knowledge and skills. In order to utilize my learning and knowledge skills, I had to keep my focus on several aspects. First, I needed to learn the proper attributes to work in a team. The maintenance of the cohesiveness in the team work was important for me. I paid the closer attention to the roles that I played during the project. Moreover, I tried to identify the methods of building an effective team work. Hence, it can be specified that the closer observance is necessary to utilize the proper knowledge and skills in a group work project (Mäkikangas et al. 2016). I acquired the problem solving skills for the emergencies occurred during the project work. Furthermore, I had the effective listening skills to understand the underlying issues and necessary steps to be undertaken for the completion of the project. The association of the innovative ideas derived from the diverse team members was quite helpful in completing the entire project within the scheduled time.

The decision making process in a group project activity is essential. The project manager usually takes the major decisions related to the project. It is essential to keep the focus on several interpersonal dynamics. For example, the decision making process depends on Leadership, Team Building, Motivation and Communication (Brennecke and Rank 2016). It is essential t lead the team in the right direction by building the proper trust and reliability among the team members. A good leader motivates the team members to work in an efficient way. The proper motivation can lead the team member in evaluating the project activity in a significant way. In order to undertake the proper decision, it is necessary to build a proper team and divide the responsibilities among the members. I believe the most necessary skill for undertaking any relevant project decision is the establishment of the proper communication (De Jong et al. 2016). During the project, I faced some of the difficulties in understanding several analytical purposes. During such moment, I preferred to communicate with my teammates to gather the adequate ideas and implication to perform the task. Hence, I think maintaining the proper communication transparency in essential for undertaking any necessary decision for the project.

Decision-Making Process

The Gate process is associated with some of the specific stages that are essential for conducting the entire project. The stages are as follows:

  • The preliminary stage is scheduled for developing the idea. The group discussion activity was held to identify and discuss the basic requirements of the project (Brown, Crossley and Robinson 2014).
  • In the stage one, the draft of the project was formed. In this draft, the entire project activities are listed up.
  • In stage two, the information obtained from the market research is analyzed. Moreover, it provides the idea of the methods used in this research project.
  • In stage three, the survey questionnaire was drafted for gathering necessary information required for this research.
  • In stage four, the outcome and the results were analyzed for the project work.
  • In stage five, the proper data and the strategy were developed. Based on this information, the entire project was carried out to the completion process.

After analyzing the stages, I have identified some of the basic strengths and weaknesses. Firstly, conducting the survey process for the project information was quite fruitful. The obtained idea from the survey helped the team members to develop their communication skills and understanding the purposes of raising funds. Moreover, it provided us the proper information about the perception of the society about the dance programs. The major weakness was found in dealing with the biased responses of the associated participants. It was much difficult to analyze the information which is highlighting the biased responses (Archibald and Archibald 2016). We were not even authorized to persuade any respondents for the better answer. Hence, it was the biggest weakness for the project.

Working in a group to complete a purposive project has created the significant impact on my ability and skills. While I was associated in a group activity, it was quite necessary for me to understand the maintenance of the mutual cohesiveness. I needed to maintain the proper interpersonal relationship and understanding while communicating with the other members in the team. Each of the members in the team needed to gather the adequate idea about the nature of the dancing clubs before undertaking this project activity. The maintenance of the higher level of confidentiality was necessary for a group project (Hill and Rapp 2014). It is important to state that we maintained a superior form of ethical practices to perform the project functionalities. The ethical parameter in this project is much commendable. I personally kept the focus on every personal and professional ethics to conduct the market research and work in a group. Team bonding was essential to manage the entire situation (Stewart and Gapp 2014). Hence, our team unity was much remarkable and drove us towards the successful completion. The ethical aspects were taken into considerations for maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards. This maintenance of the ethical parameter was much fruitful to gather the necessary information from the community people.

However, the major challenges were faced due to the time constraints. The limited time was quite hazardous for us to collect the sufficient data for the project. While making a fruitful decision, it was essential to invest more time that was much limited to us. In fact, many of the clubs did not respond properly. Seeking supports from these clubs were much challenging for us. In fact, we had to face some of the extreme difficulties to collect necessary information from the organisations. Hence, it was quite promising journey for each of the team members.

The Gate Process

Conclusion

The study presents the reflective case study upon the fundraising program held by gathering supports from the dance clubs. The major focus of the project is to present the market research of UK dancing clubs, which are contributing to the development of the charity program and community development. Almost 30 dancing clubs took the participation in this initiative for the gift aid purposes and undertaking the charity part. The entire project was much challenging for each of the team members since it was associated with many difficulties and challenges. I needed to maintain the proper interpersonal relationship and understanding while communicating with the other members in the team. Each of the members in the team needed to gather the adequate idea about the nature of the dancing clubs before undertaking this project activity. The maintenance of the higher level of confidentiality was necessary for a group project. However, overcoming the barriers, we could finally complete the entire project much successfully. In fact, the further recommendations will ensure the method of overcoming the barriers and challenges for the future.

Despite of the positive responses towards the charity programs, the project ensured several limitations as well. Considering the underlying challenges, it is essential to develop the awareness programmes associated with the promotional activities. With the help of this awareness programs, the donors and participants will derive the proper ideas about the necessity of undertaking this fundraising initiative. The establishment of the proper communication with the associated participants will be much helpful in making them understand the purposes. In fact, the effective communication is helpful enough in resolving the issues that may occur within the team during a project. I needed to learn the proper attributes to work in a team. The maintenance of the cohesiveness in the team work was important for me. I could develop my analytical skills with the help of my team members. I think, in future, it will be much beneficial for me to deal with such situation and undertake the similar group work process.
