North America, US
Globalization is the growth of international interdependency of citizens, economy, and traditions through cross-border technology, people, goods and services, investments, and information. Globalization has both positive and negative impacts.
North America, US
In the US, globalization has led to an increase in manufacturing industries due to the availability of labor which leads to low-cost manufacturing, for example, the petroleum and coal industry.
The US feels like the products entering us from other countries do not match up the safety standards of us, for example, Mattel a toy-making company, in 2007 canceled 7M toys from China that were covered by lead paint.
Europe, United Kingdom
Globalization has made it effortless for UK industries such as the NHS and fruit picking industries get to get both skilled and unskilled labor, these industries faced inadequate labor before globalization.
On the other hand, globalization has affected nationalism negatively. The UK feels like the importance of nationalism is decreasing because they now have lost power to fix a limit on other nationalities and remain together as one nation(Boulter, 2019)
Sub-Saharan Africa
Globalization has impacted Education systems in Africa positively; there has been an improvement in the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. They have been enrolling engineering, sciences, and art students in higher graduate schools. (Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, 2006)
Globalization has affected Africa negatively like in imports of threatening things like the recent breakout of COVID-19 from China which spread all over due to globalization.
Russia
Globalization in Russia has opened global markets for their products; it has increased their net profits and sales, and it has also protected their markets from competitors.
It led to increased poverty levels, instability, and inequality during the early stages of them opening to globalization.
Middle and South America, Mexico
Globalization has led to the rise of Foreign Direct Investment in Mexico. It attracted investors from Asia and European international corporations.
On the negative side, it lead to great job losses since the most company closed down like the Mexico clothing company, which was a result of imports from Asia and China which were cheaper than the locally produced (Bergh et al., 2020).
South Asia
It has led to cross-border movement of finance capital; this is a result of Asian citizens working in other countries sending money and investing in their own country. The finance capital is purely unregulated in the international space ( zangin M. Awdel et al., 2020)
Globalization threatened the stability and security of South Asia leading to political instability. The security of the region has become vulnerable (Broner & Ventura, 2016)
East Asia
It has to lead to increased innovation, research, and development. For example, Malaysian manufacturing saw the need of investing in research and development to help them when buying machinery (Z. M. Awdel et al., 2020).
It has posed a threat to the environment due to increased economic activities in the region. More energy is being used and so is the need to import energy.
Southeast Asia, Singapore
It has enabled Singapore as an island to easily reach the world despite having limited land due to the unlimited movement of goods and services into and out of Singapore. It negatively affected wages and brought about inequality in the region (Robinson, 2018)
Australia and New Zealand
It aided in the improvement of the motor vehicle industry in Australia, more research was done and came up with a more efficient production system that was not capital intensive (Aluko et al., 2021). New Zealand as the leading producer and exporter of dairy products has greatly benefited from globalization.
On the negative side, it has affected the local prices of these products, and the citizens cannot afford to buy them locally.
The Pacific and Antarctica
Globalization led to the making up of policies and regulations to protect international waters from increased human activities.
They have been exposed to pollution and the effects of climate change due to increased demand for mining, fishing, and water transportation across continents (Gaines et al., 2019).
