In the present age of competition, human hardly find time for reflecting upon the actions that they perform for the basic survival. As a result of which, most of the times, they are Compelled to encounter awkward situations among the public. Viewing it from other perspective, in this situation, the circumstances entrap the individuals within a complexity, which results in the incapability to perform the basic activities (Jackson, 2016). Science has made much advancement that it has solutions for each and every kind of issues that humans might encounter in their existence. Communication is one of essential issues, which decides the societal status of the individuals. Exposure of conscious and rationalistic approach in terms of correct utilization of language at the right time and place bestows the tag of better position and status to the humans (Rojas, Rojas & Villamizar, 2017).

With the advancement of Civilization, number of tools has emerged, which helps the humans to review and reflect upon their performance. These tools attain the tag of diagnosis as the functionality of these tools provides guidance regarding the progression on the right path. There are several diagnostic tools such as Johari window, Communication style questionnaire, Assertive questionnaires, among others. All these tools seem effective for me to add firmness in my individuality (Shokri et al., 2014).

Johari Window is an effective tool, which makes me acquainted with myself. This acquaintance brings to the forefront certain new facts about me, the net result of which is my whole and complete self. The main propositions of this model are development of trust by disclosing personal details and rejuvenation of the self through feedbacks and suggestions of others. There are four quadrants of this model: open area, blind area, hidden area and unknown area. The open area relates to the proposition of disclosing personal information and development of trust from the others (Munro et al., 2015). This trust is an agent of stability between me and my neighbors. The second, third and fourth quadrant Can be interlinked with each other. The root cause of this linkage is the obscurity regarding the true self. This situation possesses two connotations. One, I possess limited knowledge about myself; however, others know it in fullness. On the other hand, I enrich the knowledge of the others by disclosing personal details about myself. The adjective “obscure” relates to the characteristics of the third quadrant, hidden (Rosemann & Brocke, 2015). When neither I nor the other possesses Concrete information about my true self, it resembles the characteristics of the fourth quadrant, which is filled with uncertainty. Critically reviewing the characteristics of the quadrants, deceiving information about myself from the people generates depression within me regarding my true self. This situation aggravates the obscurity and limits the movements of the openness. This limitation contradicts the true essence of the first quadrant (Brink & Costigan, 2015). Viewing it from the other perspective, this limitation alarms me not to disclose personal information about myself as it might deviate me from my targeted goals.

Communication Style Questionnaire

Communication style questionnaire is another tool, which helps me in achieving a concrete understanding about my personality. Questionnaires are an efficient method to interrogate the reality of the exposed self. Inclusion of open ended questions enhances my imagination and rationality. Along with this, exposure to different types and wide ranging questions broadens my preconceived perspectives. Along with this, it also enhances my confidence regarding the acceptance of reviewing myself as a human being (Brandler & Roman, 2015). Attempting on the process of questionnaire can be considered as my capability to question the performance that I exposed in terms of the performance that I am supposed to expose. Application of conscious attitude towards this direction generates self-organizational skills within me. With the help of these skills, I emerge successful in excavating out the effectiveness and feasibility of my exposed performance. Practicing an oriental approach towards the actions is my slow and gradual progression towards my goals.  

Assertive communication style is one of the most effective communication styles. Utilization of this style for communication enriches my confidence about the performing enduring and challenging tasks. This communication style acts as a medium between my aggression and passive behavioral conduct. Therefore, according to the functionality of the communication style, it keeps a check on my behavior, assessing the appropriateness of the exposure (Royle & Laing, 2014). The major drive behind this regulation is to ensure the preservation of the individual sentiments of the others through my behavior. Viewing it from other perspective, this assessment alarms me to disclose information to others as per requirements. Inclusion of evaluation within this style sheds light on the good self, as through evaluation I adopt certain changes within my behavior for setting an example within the society. Maintenance of consistency upgrades my personality, which is an agent in enhancing my existence (Helfat & Peteraf, 2015).  

Measurement can also be considered as one of an essential tool for polishing the preconceived communication skills. Measurement can be placed in equal alignment with evaluation as it possesses same characteristics. Countering this, measurement can be said to be a sequential step after the evaluation process. As a matter of specification, evaluation brings to the forefront the potential drawbacks in my performance, especially communication. In terms of bringing modifications, display of measured behavior upgrades my personality and qualifies me as an efficient human being (Ru, 2013). Therefore, in terms of regulation, measurement can be considered as a crucial element in controlling my excess exposure of feelings and emotions. As an example, while giving presentations in workplace, I need to expose refined communication skills. Here, if I do not use common everyday language, it would indicate my immaturity, which nullifies the experience that I have gained till now. On the contrary, attending Spoken English classes helps me in upgrading my preconceived communication capability. Along with this, the classes also enhance my personality, which makes me presentable among the foreign delegates present in the project presentation sessions (Divleli & Ergun, 2015).

Listening activities enhance my auditory skills. Translation of the heard content into writing projects my transcription capability. Listening to good contents has instilled within me the attribute of patience. Now, I actively listen to the problems that my colleagues are facing while doing the business activities. This has maintained the stability in the relationship between me and my colleagues. Taking into consideration measurement and assertive communication style have refined the communication of me as well as my colleagues in the workplace (Stokoe, 2014). This refinement is an end to the prolonged communication clashes that existed between us for one year.

Assertive Communication Style

Measurement is one of an essential means to regulate the outflow of emotions even in the serious situations. Effective and judicious utilization of measurement techniques helps the individuals to evaluate their behavioral conduct. Within this, using the means of feedback, survey makes the individuals aware of the effectiveness of the exposed behavior in terms of communication. Herein, possession of good friends circle is crucial (Weldy, Maes & Harris, 2014). This is due to the provision of guidance upon deviation from the targeted goals. On the contrary, deceiving friends compel the individuals to encounter losses in the workplace activities especially communication. Countering this, inspiring the deceiving friends to make use of measurement techniques enhances the personality of the individuals. Typical examples in this direction are the checklists and templates of evaluation. The tabular segments of these means enhance the clarity of the business personnel in terms of the effectiveness of the exposed communication skills (Bedwell, Fiore & Salas, 2014).  

Assertive communication style adds an interrogative parameter to the character of the individuals. This is due to the open ended questions, which adds value to the rationality and imaginative power. Inclusion of these questions in the survey questionnaire forms helps the employees to come face to face with their true self. This acquaintance inculcates confidence within the employees in terms of undertaking challenging tasks. Sticking to the undertaken standpoint helps the individuals to gain self-respect (Locker & Kienzler, 2013). Consistency in the taken viewpoint nullifies the negative assertions regarding the individual self. In this respect, the assertive questions find their applicability in terms of speculating the real self of the individuals: the one that is in front of the others or the one that hesitates to expose itself as a result of inferiority complex. The second part of the previous sentence relates to the limitation of the openness as proposed in the first quadrant of the diagnostic tool, Johari window (Ulmer,  Sellnow & Seeger, 2013).

Application of theoretical framework to an issue enlivens its intensity. Viewing it from other perspective, theoretical application sheds light on the relation between cause and effect of the undertaken issue. These aspects seem true even for the communication issue, an important element in the development of an individual.

In the business workplace, employees need to expose their professionalism in communicating with the colleagues. Consciousness towards this direction reflects the exposure of measured behaviour in case of the employees. The adoption of communimetric measures has transformed the communication skills of the personnel across the globe. The presence of metric in the term is the measurement of communication in scales (Lyons, 2009). Application of the business perspective in this context, the techniques adopted by the personnel are the scales and utilization of these scales to measure the communication helps the individuals to evaluate the effectiveness of the exposed behavior. The model of measurement projects the relationship between science and management. The preconceived experience of using language for communication can be correlated to “science” and the measurement of the utilized language is the management of behavior for regulation of excess outflow of thoughts and emotions (Goldberg & Rosenfeld, 2014).

Measurement

Behavioral theory gains an important position in the measurement of the communication. The surroundings of the individual compel him to expose relevant behavior. Rationalistic approach towards the exposure of right behavior at the right place, reflects the display of measured behavior.  Herein Erikson’s stages of psychological development can also be attached. The upbringing of the individual finds reflection in the acts performed by him in this adult life (Austin & Pinkleton, 2015). If a child sees that his parents are courteous to the neighbors and the surrounding people, then he also will follow the footsteps of his parents when he grows up. Therefore, it is the psychology, which sends the message to the brain to expose appropriate behavior. Hence, it is the stimulus, which instructs the individuals to perform right actions at the right place.

Groupware Theory aligns with the technological advancement. Adoption of latest technology brings changes within the business procedures of the companies and organizations. Typical example of this is the social media, which is one of an efficient communication channel for satisfying the needs, demands and requirements of the customers. Installation of latest technology software on the profiles of the customers enables them to communicate with the company personnel for solving the doubts regarding the offered services (Keerativutisest & Hanson, 2017). Herein the utilization of psychology takes a backseat and pushes rationalism for effective and judicious use of systems. Herein the concept of Computer Misuse Act can be brought in as it directly relates to the requirements of the topic. Countering this, rationalism and misuse cannot be placed in the same alignment. Rationalistic application would restrain the employees from misutilizing the systems. However, absence of rationalism would compel the personnel to encounter losses in the business procedures (Austin & Pinkleton, 2015).

Post positive communication theory breaks the authority of the managers of the business organizations and provides the opportunity to the employees to voice out their opinions regarding the organizational issues. This theory sheds light on the participative management style, which improves the stability in the relationship between the managers and the employees. Maintenance of consistency in the stability adds positivity to the communication that takes place between the managers and the employees. Providing motivation and encouragement to the employees for better performance is the typical example of the post positive communication (Goldberg & Rosenfeld, 2014). The word “post” relates to the evaluation, which necessitates the revision that needs to be done for enhancing the personality.  

Assertion Theory safeguards the basis rights that the individuals possess for survival. The main assertion of this theory is refusal without hurting the sentiments of the others. Refusal achieves a negative tone for the person making an offer to the other person. This refusal possesses several conditions. One, the receiver might not be in need for the offered thing. Secondly, the person has obtained other sources for receiving the thing being offered (Ulmer,  Sellnow & Seeger, 2013). Thirdly, the receiver might not be in good terms with the offerer. Out of the three conditions, the third one can be taken as example as it relates to the propositions of the topic. Not being in good terms indicates the existing conflicts and clashes between the two individuals, the result of which is the use of slang and improper language for turn down the self esteem of the opposite person. Inclusion of the open ended questions in this context can be considered as an attempt to bring a transformation in the opposite person. The more the number of questions, the individual would delve deep into his self. This action would enable him to assert his self-organizational skills (Locker & Kienzler, 2013). Emerging successful in this activity is interplay with the psychological self. If the individual is suffering from psychological disturbances, he would fail to reach to the depth of his psyche as the root cause of disturbance would recur frequently.

Listening Activities

Along with the psychological disturbances, aggression also limits the assertion of the individual self. Under the influence of aggression, nothing seems to make the individual sooth the tragic and disturbed plight of the individual. This situation puts the self-respect of the other person at stake. In this situation, he needs counseling, for speculation of the exposed behavior and bringing changes in his behavioral conduct (Bedwell et al., 2014). Meditation cools the disturbed self of the individuals. This is due to the interaction between the selves, which acts as a resolution for the persisting issues.

Aggression is one of the behavioral expressions of the humans. Delving deep into the issue, aggression is an immature behavior, which represents the lack of measurement. Insertion of the aspect of assertive questions here, it reviews the aggression and excavates out the root cause for this kind of behavior. Positive results can be achieved if the individual is engaged in therapies and counseling sessions, where listening skills is an effective part. All these aspects brings the highlighted theories in the same alignment. Minute speculation of the issues, rationalistic approach towards the actions being performed uplifts the status of the individuals (Weldy, Maes & Harris, 2014).

In order to achieve positive outcomes, humans need the assistance of certain reliable sources. Setting goals improves the focus of the individuals in terms of the actions that they perform for the basic survival. Mere setting of the goals does not serve the purpose; individuals need to check their progress in terms of the goals that they have set themselves. For this, action plan serves as an effective means. Representation of the activities and the time within which the activities will be achieved, in the tabular format, enhances the clarity of the individuals regarding their confidence and capability to fulfill the identified and the specified requirements (Stokoe, 2014). The color added to the weeks by which the activity will be done can be correlated to the individual capability regarding the achievement of success.

Identification of the need for adopting changes is the first step towards the success. This can be considered as the first round evaluation for speculating the preconceived communication skills. As a sequential step, attending spoken English classes is a matured and measured step towards the refinement of the possessed communication expertise (Divleli & Ergun, 2015). Enrolment in a reputed university, like Central Queensland, is an advancement of maturation regarding the enhancement of individuality and personality. Reading philosophical books like Waking, Dreaming and Being makes the individuals aware of their real being. The power of positive thinking confirms their existence in terms of the actions that they are performing. Searching for a mentor provides guidance to the individuals in their journey towards success. Hence, possession of adequate skills, expertise and philosophical knowledge is crucial in this direction. Final evaluation would make the individuals aware of the potential drawbacks that persist even after taking lessons from the mentor. This generates self organizational skills within the individuals, enhancing the individuality (Helfat & Peteraf, 2015).
