As per the case study, the issue of cork taint is brought by the use of corks as one of the most suitable alternative for wine closure. However, the issue of cork taint is mainly caused by TCA or 2-4-6 tri-chloro-anisole, a chemical compound that is resulted from interaction between invisible moulds, which grows in the pours of the corks. It has been understood also that the abovementioned harmful and chemical compound is found in the chlorine, which is utilized for bleaching the natural corks prior to shape it into wine closure.
