The Magical Transformations in Cinderella's Story

Discuss about the Municipal Solid Waste for Bioresource Technology.

The student number is 54465216. The two words to be taken from the table is spoon and mat. The magical transformations to be done on these two items are: the spoon was transformed to shining earrings and necklaces that Cinderella wore to attend the ball. These ornaments made look more beautiful than the other maidens at the ball. The mat was transformed to a woolen path where Cinderella used to step on to make sure that her slippers would not break in case she stepped on a hard surface.

“A soft woolen mat turns a hard surface at the stroke of midnight.”

In the case of attending the ball, her godmother gave her strength and determination to finish the job in time in order to attend the ball regardless of how many chores her stepmother gave her.

The use of computers as a form of technology has brought about great changes in our human lives. There is a wide gap between the way people live long time ago to the way we are living now due to the introduction of computers. Computers have eased the way people work, think and interact. It has also come with a fair share of challenges too. Health issues have become one of the key challenges. We shall therefore, discuss the way computers have changed the human form, predict the changes that are likely to occur to the human body in the next ten years and finally give an idea of how it will be in the future as a result of using computers.

It have been found that spending too much time on the screen can cause brain damage. Due to internet addiction, mostly in young adults, spend most of their time on the internet or while gaming. This has caused some parts of the brain particularly the grey matter to shrink, the frontal lobe, which performs functions such as coordination, prioritizing, regulation and impulse control have been affected. This has led to problems such as sensory overload, restorative sleep, and constant activation of the nervous system or lack of attention (Healy, 1999).

Although there is no clear evidence to show that use of computers can cause long term effects on users, too much screening can cause eye strain, irritating problems, and eye inflammation due to lack of tears. This is known as computer vision syndrome (Blehm, Vishnu, Khattak, Mitra, Yee, 2005). Adults and children have all been affected as a research shows that 50% to 90% of people who work with computers show some symptoms of eye strain and pain. Most of the people nowadays have resulted to using glasses to protect themselves from light emitted by the screens. People have also been advised to take frequent breaks while using computers. Despite problems caused by excessive screening, a research carried out in the US shows vision can be improved by playing video games. It suggests that video games helps to improve contrast sensitivity which is caused by aging.

The Impact of Computers on Human Lives

Use of bad posture while using computers have brought changes in our human bodies as compared to the past. People who spend most of the time in computer desks and don’t observe the ways on how to sit while using the computers may develop back pains which at a later on may lead to stooped back. Bad posture causes stress inflicted on the spine and weakens the vertebral bones. The vertebrae are at risk to fracture that it occurs in a wedge shape (Widhe, 2001).

Previous generations were able to process emotions better than the new generation. This is evident because many of the younger generation have spent most of their time on social media. Due to limited face to face interaction, in favor of social media may affect the manner in which these people process emotions. Spending too much time on computer screen, it become hard to have awareness of our surrounding and our inner emotions (Reeves, Nass, 1996).

Due to the excessive use of computers social interaction will be too limited such that computer users will not have a chance to make friends. Making friends in social media platforms is not enough. There needs to be face to face interaction in-order to express our feelings and emotions. It is of importance to improve communication and social skills to reduce the occurrence of loneliness which can lead to depression (Rook, 1984). In addition, there will be a large number of people with eye problems if not blind, this will lead to wide use of glasses to prevent eye strain due to exposure of light emitted by the computer screens.

Technology advances as time goes by, there will be great improvements in research in I.T such that computers will have an extremely high processing capability than that of humans. Computers will be fast and will be able to process information at a faster rate than before. They will not be primarily tools for business anymore but will become everyday hand- held appliances that can be accessed by everyone (Fogg, 2002). Communication will be fast to speeds of 100 gigahertz and less costly. There will be a possibility that matter will be converted into data and sent over a medium.

The next feature about computers is that they will have large storage volumes. These systems will handle heavyweight applications of more than 1 TB yet process more than today’s desktops. They will have large storage spaces and random access memories to process information faster. Data will not be stored in silicon chips anymore but in the cloud where it can be accessed when needed. This will result into high security improvements.

Changes in Posture Caused by Excessive Use of Computers

Computers will have a more reasoning capacity than human beings. As more research is done about artificial intelligence, computers will be used to monitor health by using chips implanted in the human body. They will detect any complications within the body such as diseases and growth of tissues and will report earlier before the human even notices. The will also be used to monitor market trends and give decisions that are more accurate than humans can (Levy, Murnane, 2005).

The Plastic Bank is an organization that maintains the environment by reducing plastic pollution. Plastic materials are widely used in packaging materials such as food, beverages, chemicals and other materials. After being used people often the dump these plastics into the environment and since plastics are inorganic materials, they end up polluting the environment we live in. Plastic Bank therefore has come with new and innovative ideas to clean the environment by buying these discarded plastics from the people and selling them to corporations who can use it for packaging.

One of the activities that is creative according to this organization is that it improves the lives of people. Since most of the people most polluted areas are the most disadvantaged ones, the organization encourages such kinds of people to collect the discarded wastes and sell it to them. Through selling the waste these people in turn generate income hence improve their lives tremendously through poverty reduction. As a result the waste plastics in the environment is reduced and make it more conducive in the process. Through these innovative idea of the Plastic Bank there is double benefits for both the people and the environment.

Secondly, through recycling ocean plastics, technology have improved too. The 3D printing filament has been invented solely on recycling offshore plastics.  LUSH was the first company to buy 3D printed materials from the Plastic Bank to make Sea Spray bottle line for their cosmetics. This means that not only in 3D printing, recycled plastics been used in making electronic equipment’s and products such as toys for children, electronic circuits, home theatres, boilers and so on. Through Plastic Bank activities to clean the environment through plastic recycling technology has improved (Goosey, 1985).

Recycling waste plastics can also help in generating energy. New research nowadays shows that we can do exactly that. This will not only clean the environment but also reduce air pollution by reducing nonrenewable source of energy such as coal, petroleum and carbon. This form of energy will be less costly as it come from cheap collected bottles from the oceans and dump sites and will reduce the load put energy that comes from water and wind (Cheng, Yuanan, 2010). It will also help light up many homes that do not have access to power and reduce constant power outages. These are new and innovative methods used by the Plastic Bank which will have triple benefits: to the environment, air, and also to the people.

Due to this creativity, Plastic Bank success in its attempts to clean the environment through reducing plastic pollution has come from its large size. It has gathered more than a billion followers worldwide and has also created partnerships with other companies with cleaning the environment as their main aim. Through the creation of forums to encourage people to clean the environment by collecting plastics and selling to them has had a big advantage to the people as they can earn money without necessarily seeking job employment opportunities.
