How To Analyze Use Case Model, Benefits Of A Mobile App & WBS Development

Briefly describe how would you obtain the information needed for the development of a use case model to analyse the requirements of the proposed system. Draw a Use Case Diagram and document use case descriptions to represent the required functionality of the system.

Establish a scholarly supported argument, discussing the benefits of offering a mobile application in addition to the website. You may start by exploring perceptions of, and behaviours related to, the use of mobile apps in similar businesses. You must use at least five references to support your argument.

Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) – organized by product and in at least three levels of details – for the front-end of a mobile application, which helps the management to understand the scope and complexity of the development project. You are required to demonstrate how the suggested WBS can be used by the management.

Providing the users with accessibility of the organisational products have emerged as one of the crucial needs for the organisations to maintain a satisfied customer. Hence, different ways have been devised by the scholars, researchers and the organisations to meet up with the demands to maintain a satisfied customer. Website and mobile applications are one of such ways. Both of them have proved themselves to be efficient and Scene Brokers are also emphasising on utilising it. The information needed for the development off the use case would be collected from the business operations that are conducted. It will include the accessibility of the system by the customers and external stakeholders along with the response that the firm will offer in response to the queries posted by the organisational stakeholders.

Adding a mobile application along with a website can offer several benefits and one of the most prominent of them is that it assists in creation of brand loyalty (Chang 2015). A recent research by software giant Adobe states that 67% of the online buyers have preferred using the mobile application and it assists in development of brand loyalty for the organisation through establishing a connection between the user and the firm (Adobe.com 2018). The firm also supported the claim made by it with certain reasons and the first and most prominent is the faster content loading. The contents in a mobile application loads faster that the website and it can be justified by the fact that is the apps does not load faster than the users will uninstall it from their mobile to save storage in their mobiles and tablets. Kissmetric co-founder Neil Patel who has been regarded as one of the best web minds by the Forbes, Wall Street Journal and several others have quoted that mobile applications tend to launch 40% faster than the website versions of the firm’s online system (Work 2018). Sometimes, it had been identified that the users get dissatisfied with the website and the fault may not lay in the website (such as low connectivity or improper use the user) and develop the threat of losing the customer. However, offering of the mobile application will also mitigate the threat of losing buyers who are dissatisfied with the website of the firm. The reason associated with the above mentioned fact is that mobile applications if have a lite version can run properly on a low internet connectivity (van Heerde, Dinner and Neslin 2018). The improper use of the organisational system is also mitigated because the usability of a mobile application is comparatively easier with respect to its counterpart.

Use Case List

The usability of a mobile application is considered to be better than a website because of its capability to work on low connectivity internet. It enables the app to load high definition images or heavy animation which offer the application a more modern, stylise and bright look. Furthermore, the app architecture enables the app developers to develop useful and exclusive functionality with the intuitive navigation option for the users (Stoyanov et al. 2015). Additionally, the apps also offer advantage of loading certain contents (depending upon the size and storage of the app) without an internet connection which is not possible for a website. The mobile application also offers different features which cannot be readily offered by the website. The features such as gamification which has emerged as one of the prominent ways for attracting user interactivity and engagement (Jeno, Grytnes and Vandvik 2017). The interactivity of the users is not limited to themselves but they also attract additional users. The options of sharing links with friends and families also attracts the friends and families of the user, in the process enhancing the customer base of the firm. Some of the scholars have even claimed that every loyal customer who are using the mobile platform acts as a live advertising platform for the firm.

Another notable fact about the deems the need for the mobile application is that it allows integration with other smartphone based apps. Integration with other smartphone based apps makes the mobile app feature rich which offers a high level of satisfaction to the customers. The possibility of built-in camera, GPS, audio and other features that a mobile application can offer but a website cannot (Buller et al. 2015). The users can use the discussed feature to earn a real life experience which will make it more entertaining from them and will earn reliability from them. Push notifications and other similar features are also crucial that amplifies the need for the mobile application along with the website. Hence, it could be emphasised that mobile applications can offer certain benefits to the organisation and its users which the website is incapable of. Though, it does not mean that the mobile applications can fulfil all the expectation of the firm and the user. There are certain aspects were the mobile application lacks behind the mobile application (Hu et al. 2015). The size of the screen and the comfort that the website can offer to the people with less technical knowledge are certain features which makes the website desirable. Additionally, the app can offer a high level of satisfaction for the customer which is one of the most desirable feature. The use case and WBS are also supportive with the mobile application.
