Proposed Human Resource Programme

In the current competitive scenario, Tesco is facing issue of attraction and retention of talented employees so it is needed to arrange an effective human resource programme to attract and retain employees. The main problem is that new joiners leave the job very quickly, So, developed plan for a new programme named “Internships and work-based experience programmes”. This programme will definetly help Tesco to attract and retain new joiners at the workplace (Shields et al, 2015).

The main aim of this project is to arrange the internships and work-based experience so that the best and talented employees can be employed within the workforce.   Through this project, trainees and learners will be briefed about the working environment and culture of Tesco and associated working methods. I am willing to lead the project; however, I need to show my skills and knowledge relating to lead this project. This report will show my leadership qualities that I have assessed using “Leadership skill Audit form”. Furthermore, I have created 360 PDP in context of my career as leader. On the basis of analysis, I came to know about my leadership skills and where I am lacking behind.

The goals of my career are to enter into the corporate world and to continuously enhance my knowledge, skills and experience by getting involved in challenging work environment and utilize them for personal and organizational growth to the best of my ability. Next is to learn about the practical aspects of the theories that I have learned during my academic period. From the analysis, I came to know about strengths of cognition, decision making, creative problem solving and interpersonal communication according to me and strengths according to others on. I also came to know about the areas of development in above skills according to me and by others.

Further, I identified the priorities for development which includes improvement to be a good listener, an active presenter, to have better writing skills.  The skills I wish to learn and improve were my written communication, listening, presentation, decision making and managing skills. The managerial skills will be helpful in handling “Internships and work-based experience programmes”.  For this, I hope to do things such as to be concise and consistent with my writing. By paying more attention to what others are trying to convey. Also by focusing and fulfilling the needs of customer and employees.  Further to improve and develop this skills the actions I will take include attending seminars and inherit stress management process which will improve my listening skills within two months. Next, by learning more theories in the coming month I can take quick and right decisions. After analyzing all my strengths and area of development I will then review my skills of presentation and listening with my immediate superior and my co workers. The program which was planned by me required leadership skills as I am supposed to lead that program. From this analysis I came to know where I have to improve my skills so I will successfully handle Internships and work based experience programmes.
